In windows 10 I am getting an issue. First off, if I try to install with first option on the menu I get "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 23s" If I go under 'Troubleshooting - Install RedHat with Graphics mode', it says "X startup failed, falling back to text mode". This is bad because under text mode I cannot dual boot, only replace my OS. Any advice?
Nehal J Wani (1 year ago)
Does your computer have a graphics card? Did you try disabling it?

how do i make my flash drive bootable? i have used unetbootin, liveusbcreator, iso2usb - all these software don't really work for the Redhat7 iso file.
kovinster (2 years ago)
it's like for GPT partition / UEFI bootloader, bootable flash drive should be formatted to FAT32 and for MBR partition an NTFS formatted stick is required

+Nehal J Wani The System Reserved file system in my PC is NTFS. Does it mean it is Legacy Mode?
Nehal J Wani (3 years ago)
+Mahfuz Ahmed NTFS is a filesystem. EFI is a firmware interface. You can't compare them like that. If your windows is installed in Legacy Mode, follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJOCWhW6Stw

Hi sir,i install rhel in my main system now how to create partition in rhel and install Windows 8.1 for dual boot system??
Harsh Vyas (3 years ago)
Thank you very much sir for helping me....
Nehal J Wani (3 years ago)
+Harsh Vyas Use gparted to shrink an existing partition (you will have to unmount it first) and then create a new partition to install Windows in it. But keep in mind, you may have to setup grub2 again after installing Windows.

Okay, so it seems that your Windows installation is in Legacy Mode. Try this command: grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg grub2-install /dev/sda Then reboot and check!

Hey Man, I really need your help I installed RHEL7 into a partition of my W8.1 and RedHat was installed in the partition but now I cannot start windows 8, the only option to log system is RedHat. Please help :c
Oh!! its worked..!! Thank you so much, You are Awesome and  great man...
Nehal J Wani (3 years ago)
+சேது ராமலிங்கம் It may be the case that your Installation is in Legacy Mode. In that case, to boot into Windows, you will need to do what I do in https://youtu.be/dJOCWhW6Stw?t=3m50s and add a menu entry for Windows in RHEL's GRUB.
I have downlaod  from this ling (RHEL 7.1 Binary DVD)  https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/69/ver=/rhel---7/7.1/x86_64/product-downloads.. i have install this software as par your video. But not ask while restart localhost password like yours.. i have select server and gui and all sub menu in installation..
Nehal J Wani (3 years ago)
+சேது ராமலிங்கம் Have you installed RedHat or are you running just after booting from the installation disk?
after i type su didn't ask password.. and  i'm in root user this is not superuser? i'm newer to redhat..

Oleg Vazhnev (4 years ago)
why you didn't clicked "Click here to create partitions automatically"?
Nehal J Wani (4 years ago)
+Oleg Vazhnev I wanted to create partitions of the size that I wanted. By clicking "Click here to create partitions automatically", it would have created another EFI partition which I didn't want. And I would have to do the extra effort of resizing partitions and deleting the newly created EFI partition.
