A bad PowerPoint presentation can be confusing, annoying, and boring. In this video, I'll give you my best tips for using PowerPoint in your presentations, whether they are for work or school. I'll talk about what makes a good presentation and what can ruin your presentation. You'll also learn how to use fonts, templates, and color to improve your slides. Do you know how much information to put on each slide? I'll answer that question and many more in this tutorial on using PowerPoint! Take a quiz on this video at http://www.engvid.com/how-to-give-the-best-powerpoint-presentation/ For more free presentation help, including advice for English learners gving presentations in English, go to http://www.presentationprep.com/ TRANSCRIPT Do you have to make presentations? Do you hate presentations? I like presentations, but one thing that you are probably maybe good at with presentations are making PowerPoint presentations, because you have visual aids to help you so you don't really have to talk as much, if you're nervous about talking. Presentation skills is something that you can work on. We have videos on www.engvid.com to help you with presentation skills. So, go and check those out for learning how to speak during presentations. But what we're going to focus on today is the visual aspect of presentations, so your PowerPoint things. Some things to do, and some things not to do. So, here we are, presentation skills. The first thing and one of the things that makes these presentations so fun are pictures. But we have to be careful. The templates that you have already included in your presentation software, they're boring. People use them all the time. So, I suggest you try and download some other pictures to make your presentation more interesting. And with that, make sure that on one slide you have one image. Make it interesting. Do not have a split screen. So, don't have two images on one slide. Do not have a collage, that's insane. A collage is many different small pictures on one screen. Even when I see a collage, there's a lot of collages coming out on Facebook now, and I'm like: "Too many pictures. Can't understand." Our brains just cannot comprehend all those pictures, especially when you're having the slide up for a short period of time. Don't make it like a photo album. Don't put millions and seven pictures, and... Keep it simple. Put a single image on each slide. Try and pick images that you actually like, and not too distracting. You don't want puppy dogs and things. Make something simple, but something that you like, and make sure it looks nice. The next one you have to worry about is the lettering. So, the lettering, you also might know this as the font. So, font and lettering are the same. One thing that you do not want to do is have really fancy or beautiful lettering. Simply... The reason is some people can't read when the letters are fancy, especially if you are doing presentations for people whose... Do not have English as their first language, if you take the letters and you write them even cursive, a lot of people have problems reading cursive. So, I suggest you use something more traditional. There's lots of very easy-to-read fonts you can get from your... Whatever word processing you use. So, make it simple, easy to read. Another problem that you might have is the script is too big or too small. So remember that when you're making your presentation, you're doing it probably on your laptop, or your desktop, or your iPad, or your phone, so the font or the lettering is going to be different than when you put it up on the projector. So if at all possible if you can, check it out before you do the presentation. Look at your... Hook up your laptop or whatever, and see if you can actually see it on the screen because the font is different. You might think that on your laptop it's a good size, but when it gets on the projection screen, it's tiny; or it takes up too much space and it's too big. Next up are the words or the text. So, there's been studies done on how many lines of text a human can absorb or understand, and any more than six, you've lost the people. So, try and keep on each slide one very simple image, with very traditional clear text, and put only two or three lines on each slide. Don't put bullet points. If you have more than six lines or if you have bullet points, again, we just... We just can't remember them all. We just lose focus. We have something called too much information, too much info, TMI. "Too much information" means that if you have more than two or three lines, we're just not getting it. Our brain can't... We just can't learn it like you want us to.

SWOT analysis in practice - Starbucks -------------------------------- Strategy analysis has two main branches – analysis of a firm’s external environment and analysis of a firm’s internal environment. SWOT is a famous framework that allows us to combine the two types of analysis. SWOT is sometimes referred to as internal-external analysis. The acronym SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The first two, Strengths and Weaknesses, are related to a firm’s internal environment, while the last two, Opportunities and Threats, consider its external environment. Internal strengths and external opportunities are vertically paired as helpful elements, while internal weaknesses and external threats are paired as harmful elements. if we perform a company analysis, under strengths, we would expect to see its core competences, the areas where the business excels and has a competitive advantage over competitors. Weaknesses are areas that need improvement. Such vulnerabilities place a company at a disadvantage when competing against other firms. Opportunities can be seen as favorable factors existing in a company’s external environment, in the industry where it operates, and have the potential to improve its current results and competitive positioning. Threats arise in a company’s external environment and might harm its current business.

When they are arranged in a pyramid structure, they are in the order of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. The Three Services: #SaaS - Software as a Service This service provides on-demand pay per use of the application software for users and is independent of a platform. You do not have to install software on your computer, unlike a license paid program. Cloud runs a single occurrence of the software, making it available for multiple end-users allowing the service to be cheap. All the computing resources that are responsible for delivering SaaS are totally managed by the vendor. The service is accessible through a web browser or lightweight client applications. End customers use SaaS regularly. The most popular SaaS providers offer the following products and services: Google Ecosystem including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Microsoft Office 365, and SalesForce. #PaaS - Platform as a Service This service is mostly a development environment that is made up of a programming language execution environment, an operating system, web server, and database. It provides an environment where users can build, compile, and run their program without worrying about an hidden infrastructure. You manage the data and application resources. All the other resources are managed by the vendor. This is the realm for developers. PaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon Web services, Elastic Beanstalk, Google App Engine, Windows Azure, Heroku, and Force.com #IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service This service provides the architecture and infrastructure. It provides all computing resources but in a virtual environment so multiple users can have access. The resources include data storage, virtualization, servers, and networking. Most vendors are responsible for managing them. If you use this service, you are responsible for handling other resources including applications, data, runtime, and middleware. This is mostly for SysAdmins. IaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon EC2, Go Grid, and Rackspace.com. Here is a short list of some companies that use cloud computing: iCloud – Cloud from Apple is for Apple products. You can backup and store everything from multimedia to documents online. The content is then smoothly integrated onto your devices. Amazon's AWS - When you talk about companies using cloud computing, Amazon Web Services leads the pack. It offers IaaS and PaaS to all their customers. Google Cloud – This cloud platform is universal for Google's enormous ecosystem and for other products such as Microsoft Office. It provides storage of data and collaboration along with other services that are included in their cloud computing suite. Microsoft Azure – Offered by Microsoft, it provides SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS for its software and developer tools. If you have used Office 365, then you have used SaaS. IBM Smart Cloud - This offers private, public, and hybrid distribution platforms providing a full range of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud computing services for businesses. The pay as you go platform generates profits for IBM. New technology is popping up all over the internet and Cloud seems to be on the rise. This is only scratching the surface on what is already available and what will become available throughout 2017. --- 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36zducUX16w #CloudComputingServices #CloudComputing --- Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/EcourseReviews https://twitter.com/EcourseReviews https://plus.google.com/+Ecoursereview/posts https://ecoursereview.com/

Learn how to make Use Case Diagrams in this tutorial. Both beginners and intermediate UML diagrammers will find all the necessary training and examples on systems, actors, use cases, and include and extend relationships. UML Use Case Diagrams show a system or application; then they show the people, organizations, or other systems that interact with it; and finally, they show a basic flow of what the system or application does. This tutorial explains the four main characteristics of Use Case Diagrams: systems, actors, use cases, and relationships. A system is whatever you’re developing. It could be a website, a software component, a business process, an app, or any number of other things. You represent a system with a rectangle. The next aspect of Use Case Diagrams are actors. An actor is going to be someone or something that uses our system to achieve a goal, and they're represented by a stick figure. Use Cases are elements that really start to describe what the system does. They're depicted with an oval shape and they represent an action that accomplishes some sort of task within the system. The final element in Use Case Diagrams are relationships, which show how actors and use cases interact with each other. There are different types of relationships (like association, include, extend, and generalization) that are represented by varying types of lines and arrows. —— Learn more and sign up: http://www.lucidchart.com Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lucidchart Twitter: https://twitter.com/lucidchart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucidchart LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/lucidsoftware

Classical Management Theory, broadly speaking, is based upon Henri Fayol, Frederick Taylor, and Max Weber's overlapping management theories. These three management theories came together to form what we generally refer to nowadays as Classical Management Theory. Virtually all areas of organizational studies from management, to business, to organizational communication put these three theorists at the foundation of most modern day organizations for developing theories of 1) Administrative science, 2) Scientific Management, and 3) Bureaucracy. Taken together, they form the basis for how we organizational structures and relationships between managers and employes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1433131234/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=alexlyon-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1433131234&linkId=6bfd9c333c786d16025c5a7c70a3ef4c The Organizational Communication Channel provides supplemental lessons for traditional, hybrid, and 100% online courses for students and teachers everywhere. See https://sites.google.com/site/foodsafetypolicy/market-research This is a powerpoint presentation which explains market research in a textbook way. It should be relevant to U.K. A Level and first year undergraduate marketing students; as well as business education students generally. *** Market research is any organized effort to gather information about markets or customers. It is a very important component of business strategy. The term is commonly interchanged with marketing research; however, expert practitioners may wish to draw a distinction, in that marketing research is concerned specifically about marketing processes, while market research is concerned specifically with markets. Market Research is a key factor to get advantage over competitors. Market research provides important information to identify and analyze the market need, market size and competition. Market research for business/planning Market research is for discovering what people want, need, or believe. It can also involve discovering how they act. Once that research is completed, it can be used to determine how to market your product. Questionnaires and focus group discussion surveys are some of the instruments for market research. For starting up a business, there are some important things: Market information Through Market information one can know the prices of the different commodities in the market, as well as the supply and demand situation. Information about the markets can be obtained from different sources, varieties and formats, as well as the sources and varieties that have to be obtained to make the business work. Market segmentation Market segmentation is the division of the market or population into subgroups with similar motivations. It is widely used for segmenting on geographic differences, personality differences, demographic differences, technographic differences, use of product differences, psychographic differences and gender differences. For Business to Business (B2B) segmentation firmographics is commonly used. Market trends Market trends are the upward or downward movement of a market, during a period of time. The market size is more difficult to estimate if one is starting with something completely new. In this case, you will have to derive the figures from the number of potential customers, or customer segments. Besides information about the target market, one also needs information about one's competitors, customers, products, etc. Lastly, you need to measure marketing effectiveness.

Please consider leaving a tip: https://paypal.me/redspan Useful drone books: https://goo.gl/fHTfsm How To Start a Drone Business That Will Last And Succeed Full Text: https://www.redspan.com/how-to-start-a-drone-business/ What I'm about to tell you is based on my own experiences. The opportunities are huge and if you're ready then you can look forward to a long and lucrative career in the world of unmanned aviation. I'd be very interested to know more about you and your business, and if any of what I'm about to say is of use to you. So please, watch to the end and leave me some feedback in the comment section below. The tips that follow apply to any drone business whether your speciality is aerial photography, videography, mapping, thermal imagery, or whatever. 1. Preparation and planning Your first task is to consider your market. Who are your clients likely to be? How will you find them? Having found them how will you persuade them to use your services as opposed to any other UAV operator? How far are you prepared to travel? Is all your business going to be locally based, in your home country, or abroad as well? 2. Create a business plan If you've ever watched the TV show Dragons' Den (and I recommend you do) you will probably know that it is essential to know the figures for your business. It doesn't matter how good the product or service, if it doesn't show a reasonable profit in a given timeframe then it's never going to succeed. So your first task is to create a business plan. This doesn't have to be a complicated PowerPoint presentation with pretty pictures and multimedia (unless you intent to pitch for some investment) but you should at least compile one or more spreadsheets that remind you of what your capital costs and expenditure are likely to be in the first 12-24 months. There are plenty of free Excel templates online. Just google for 'business plan templates Excel' or similar phrases. 3. Controlling your budget The second point I want to emphasise to keep a tight rein on your budget. You might thing that you need every new gadget, tool, and software for your business. It's very easy at the start when you're flushed with enthusiasm (and you've still got money to spend!) to buy all the latest kit. Just remember that for every pound or dollar you spend you will have to replace it with several pounds or dollars. Do you really need that gadget or software today? Don't get bitten by the software bug and suffer from upgradeitus. A lot of software tools are filled with features we don't use. Stick to the essentials. 4. Set the right price Imagine the scenario; you've quoted for a job but your client hesitates and tells you that they can only pay a proportion of your price. They may even hint that they will hire you again if they can secure a discount this time. My advice is to stick to your original price and don't be talked into a discount that results in you working at a loss. You should know from your business plan what your break even price is so you'll know there will a point at which it's just not worth taking the job. 5. Reinvestment and further training Following on from the point about profit there is the need for reinvesting in your business. You didn't think that £150 was going to go into your back pocket, did you? Continued in the video... #### Get a video advert for your business. Turn press releases into videos, generate infomercials. Get Dave's Free eBook (The World's Most Perfect Business) here: http://DaveEspino.com/FreeBook Register for Dave's Free Online Course Training here: http://DaveEspino.com/Webinar This is Dave Espino, and in today's video we're going to answer the question “what software should be used to teach online?” Now I have my personal favorite software, which is really an amazing software tool. It's a screen recording software, so what it does is it records whatever's happening on your computer screen and it's an amazing software. The reason I like it is it outputs high quality, high definition video, and it's very simple to use. Now there are other softwares out there. I've tried a variety of different ones, including Camtasia, which a lot of people really, you know, push and Camtasia is just a little too technical for me. It involves a few extra steps that the one that I recommend does not involve and it's also a two or 300 bucks, whereas the one that I recommend is only $18 a year. Now before I mentioned the name of the screen cast software, let me tell you what you can do with it. You could open up the software on your computer screen, either in one little area of your screen or your entire screen. You could then demonstrate a piece of software like photoshop for example. Let's say that you're good at photoshop. You could actually record yourself opening up photoshop. You could be explaining every aspect of it. You could then demonstrate something within photoshop and everything that you're doing is being recorded on video. It's really, really powerful, so all you need is that screencast or screen recording software and a decent microphone and you're in business. It's really, really great. Now here's another thing you can do with this screen recording software. You can create a powerpoint presentation and just present the powerpoint presentation by presenting it like you would in a live seminar, but you're presenting it to the microphone and you're simply recording everything that's happening in the powerpoint. You're not on camera. It's just the powerpoint that you're flipping through and you're narrating on each page. It is one of the easiest ways to make online course videos that exists and then on top of that, this screen recording software has a very simple editor, so even I could go in and edit the videos, edit out the ums and the Ahs, edit out the things that I don't want in the video. So basically we ended up doing is you end up creating a video of a powerpoint and whenever you have a problem or you stumble, you just wait a little bit like this and then you come back and you edit that part out and it creates a really good professional video. So the screen recording software I'm talking about is called screencast-o-matic dot com. I'm going to have a link to it below this video. It's an incredible software. I recommend it to everyone that's creating and teaching online courses and it's going to take you a really, really far. In fact, if you want to, you can also have a Webcam attached to your computer and you could have that little video showing like in the little corner of your screen as you're presenting the powerpoint that you don't have to do that. It's great just by itself by just recording what you're doing on your screen, so by doing that you can create amazing tutorial videos and you can create amazing online course videos and now you're in business for just an $18 tool. Demo days are often the first chance a startup gets at getting in front of investors. For most startup accelerators, this is your graduation event, and a lot of work goes into preparing those slides and those pitches. In this video, we're going to dig into what investors are looking for, how to stand out from the crowd, and our lessons learned when preparing a demo day pitch deck. Now, a Demo Day pitch deck is not too different from... let's call it a regular pitch deck. It's a 10 or 15 slide introduction to your company, that should paint a good picture of what you do and why you are going to get rich doing it. The core difference is regular pitch decks get sent over email. This time you are pitching on stage, and it's your responsibility to carry the audience through the deck, to sell your company vision. This is, in order, the slides a Demo Day should have: - Opener - Traction/Milestones - Problem - Solution - Product Demo - Business Model - Market Size - Competition - Underlying Magic - Go to Market - Team - Fundraising Information Both of these templates are available on Slidebean, so feel free to download them on the links below: Pitch Deck and Demo Day Templates: https://slidebean.com/business-presentation-templates/?utm_source=youtube.com&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=video-content&utm_term=demo-day First, let's talk about the opener. Demo Days are long events. After the firth startup on stage, anyone will get bored and start blurring the memories between one company and the other. Also, investors are busy people; they can easily divert to their laptops or Twitter if they aren't interested in what they're seeing. When you get on stage, you have 5 seconds to catch an investor's initial attention. If you succeed, you've earned an extra 30 seconds of their attention span, and finally, if you nail those 30 seconds, chances are they'll pay attention through the end of your presentation. Using your first 5 seconds to say- 'Good Morning, my name is what, I'm the CEO of what is a terrible waste of that time. They aren't remembering your name or your company name, and it's quite obvious you are one of the co-founders. Use these 5 seconds to catch their attention in some other way. My favorite approach is staring with a question, a question that speaks about your problem statement. When we pitched in 500 Startups, I started with 'How much time do you waste creating slide presentations?'. We crafted this question after weeks of trial and error, but it meets the requirements, - When you get asked a question, you inevitably answer it in your head. - We are talking about a struggle that we know for a fact every one of them has. - It hints about our product, the problem we are trying to solve and the dimension of the problem. - It creates empathy. It relates them to the problem. Again, my name is on the slide. The company name and logo is on the slide, so the point here is, let's get right to business. Chances are by the end of the event they'll remember 'the presentation company,' not Caya from Slidebean; and that's fine, they now know what you do. Now the Traction Slide, notice how it's been moved to second. If you've nailed your opener, you've now earned an extra 30 seconds. The absolute best way to stand out is bragging about what you've accomplished. A lot of accelerators focus too much on the pitch itself- when your focus at all times should be growth. Use this opportunity to show a hockey stick chart of your revenue. If you have it, then this is they killer slide right here. Investors on the Bay Area want to see 30% MoM growth for seed stage companies. 20% should still be rather good. If you are below this, then your sole focus should be getting to 30%, not watching me talk about Demo Day. Still, if you must pitch and you don't have revenue, then brag about your user growth, which should also have a hockey stick chart. The point here is, this will give you CREDIBILITY. The reaction you need here is curiosity about what the hell your company is doing to be growing so fast. This is the kind of thing that grabs someone's attention for the 3 minutes you have left. ____________ ► Subscribe to our Channel Here http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c... -- About Us: Slidebean is a pitch deck creation tool with hundreds of templates available to use as a starting point.
