How To Create A Content Strategy For Your Content Marketing

09:42
Creating a content marketing strategy can be an incredibly difficult process, especially if you’re unsure of you you’re targeting, or what you’re trying to achieve. An effective content strategy is an invaluable resource, helping to structure and drive your content campaign. In this video, James explains everything you need to know about creating a winning content marketing strategy, and how you can go about putting together a plan that works for your business. Target Audience Firstly, James explains the importance of understanding your target audience. Whilst there are countless methods of targeting the right audience, a few highlights James includes are creating buyer personas and utilising data from Google Analytics. You can use tools like YouGov Profiler: https://yougov.co.uk/profiler#/ to gain a clearer view of your audience’s interests, likes and habits, and apply this information to different stages throughout your buying cycle. You can also pull audience reports from Google Analytics, which provide valuable key demographic data, including location and the sites your audience are also visiting. Building Goals Now you understand who it is you’re going to be aiming your content towards, you can formulate worthwhile goals and objectives for your content marketing campaign. These goals will vary depending on your own business values and marketing plans, as well who you’re trying to reach with your work. Your content marketing goals could be targeted towards gaining more followers, increasing traffic, boosting social shares or driving conversions; it will all depend on your business’ needs. Whichever goal you select, you’ll then need to formulate objectives to help you achieve them. You goal is what you’re aiming for; your objective is how you’ll get there. The video above contains plenty of information on relevant objectives which you can set to help you achieve the goals you’ve set. Social Media James also explains the importance of establishing social profiles on popular social media platforms, in order to further build your brand, and boost your content promotion efforts. During this process, it’s also worthwhile searching for industry relevant websites, such as forums and blogs, which will allow you to gain an overview of current attitudes, opinions and issues related to your business. By engaging with key users and influencers on social and sites such as these, you can begin to build a loyal group of followers with an active interest in your brand. Content Audit Before you begin creating a new plan, it’s necessary to take a look back, and carry out an in depth content audit to determine what has worked, and what has failed, in the past. As part of this, you’ll also want to carry out a competitor content analysis on three or four of your key competitors, in order to get a better idea of what your competition are doing to gain traction. Details on how to perform both these audits are revealed at length in the video above, where James also explains how you can use tools like Google Trends https://www.google.com/trends/ and Google Analytics to get a better understanding of your previous campaigns. These techniques should provide you with enough information to formulate new ideas. Editorial Calendar An editorial calendar is paramount to your campaign’s success. It will allow you to plot what should be created when, and give you a better idea of the activities you need to carry out to stay relevant and up to date. Promotion and Measurement Finally, James explains how you can successfully promote your content using the contacts you’ve established, and measure this success against the goals you’ve set. The New Requirements for Web Content Management in the Age of Digital Marketing

59:13
(PRE-RECORDED webinar on 04/25/2012) Marketing organizations are shifting an increasing share of their budget to digital marketing today, seeking to better engage their audiences via social and mobile channels. Creating and delivering these increasingly rich digital experiences requires far more from the Web content management system today than the ability to publish an attractive Web site. It's about personalizing conversations and fostering community to build brand, increase customer loyalty, and boost conversion rates. This web seminar explores the trends that are setting the agenda for digital marketing today, and how the requirements for WCM are evolving to support the social agenda for both marketing and IT users. IDC will share recent research into user priorities for improving the online experiences they are delivering, and highlight the new requirements for WCM in the era of digital marketing for both midmarket and enterprise users.

Content Marketing Strategy | Joe Pulizzi

Jump in — grab your tickets to C3 2018 now. | https://goo.gl/kDcnjv Want an overview of content marketing strategy and web presence management? Check out the infographic: http://www.conductor.com/blog/2014/09/infographic-content-marketers-guide-web-presence-management/ Research shows that 9/10 marketers have a content marketing strategy, but just 30% are effective. So why does a content marketing strategy fail? Simply put: the content focuses too much on the brand, and not on the pain points and daily realities of their customers. In this marketing conference presentation, Joe Pulizzi, founder of the Content Marketing Institute, talks about how to turn a brand-centric content marketing strategy into one that’s a powerful acquisition channel that churns out real ROI. Marketers are familiar with the definition of a content marketing strategy: creating valuable, relevant, compelling content on a consistent basis to a targeted audience to see a profitable action. But what we want to do as content marketers is a little different – it’s all about building audiences who will know, like, and trust us over time. In other words, marketers need to change the way they communicate with their customers through the content they create, ultimately creating better customers for their brands. In this presentation on content strategy in 2015, Joe Pulizzi covers six practical content marketing strategy steps that apply whether you’re in small business marketing, or you’re on an enterprise marketing team. 1) Find your sweet spot: choose your niche and focus on the conversation you want to own. (Go to 09:01 ) 2) Discover your content tilt: Take that niche and establish your unique angle (“tilt”) that helps you cut through the clutter and differentiate you from your content marketing competitors. (Go to 13:01 ) 3) Build the base: combine content type + platform + consistent delivery + time to create your base of content. (Go to 23:15 ) 4) Harvest your audience: build your own subscribers so that you have control over your content marketing audience base. (Go to 28:45 ) 5) Diversify: aim to engage your audience on at least 3 different content touchpoints (Go to 37:37 ) 6) Monetize: use your data to understand the difference between those who convert and those who do not. (Go to 43:16 ) C3 is a marketing conference held in New York City annual, focused on the art and science of acquiring customers with organic digital media and web presence management. Project Managing the Web

41:42
Website management is not a sexy subject and yet it is as crucial to the success of a website as great design or inspiring content. Unfortunately most website management is based on traditional project management techniques that just don't work online. The web is too fast moving and dynamic for periodic fixed term projects to work. The web requires something much more flexible, ongoing and iterative. Fortunately new best practice is emerging thanks to innovative large institutions like GOV.UK and the University of Surrey. In this presentation I explore this best practice and how we need to approach the management of our websites in a totally new way. Before you start yet another redesign project on your website, be sure to watch this presentation.

SEO Content Writing Tips For High Google Rankings - Free SEO Content Writing Training, Free SEO Training, Free SEO Content Training, SEO Content Writing Tips Download My FREE Resource: The Ultimate Content Share Worthiness Checklist: http://bit.ly/2s5Dtbj The Formula To Craft A Powerful Social Media Voice: http://bit.ly/2rRqJFm As business owners, we want our business to show up first on Google. This process is called search engine optimization (SEO). When you think of search engine optimization, do you think about your content and copywriting? 'Cause you should. Think of all the things that you type into Google when you're searching for services you might need, and now think of the things that people may be typing in to find your content. Are you showing up on Google where you want to be? Here are five search engine copyrighting secrets you can apply to boost your search engine ranking: Number one: keywords are the key. Keywords are the combinations of words or phrases that users type in search engines when they look for content. Think of all the things that you type into Google when you're searching and now think of the things that people may be typing in to find your content and use those key words while writing your content. Using targeted key words is the key to make your content discoverable and drive traffic. Number two: make sure your headlines are intensely optimized. Focusing on optimizing your headlines can make or break your discovery ranking. Number three: Work on your tags and meta descriptions. Aside from your headlines, work on your meta descriptions as well. Tags are labels to categorize your content and meta descriptions are the summaries of the webpages that appear below the headline in the search engine result page. Number four: link it up Page links make your page more discoverable and shows how your content is relevant. By placing links that people can access on your page and allowing people to click back, it means that your content matters. Links improve the user experience and helps build traffic to your site. Number five: write compelling content. Optimizing your content with the right targeted keywords is one thing, but creating the best content will improve your search engine rankings even better. Google uses page links to analyze going through your site and those links are a factor in judging the credibility of your content. Applying search engine optimization techniques when you write your copy allows your content to be understood by Google and other search engines. Website Builders, content management system (CMS) or hand-coded websites

03:32
Manuscript to the voiceover Hi – my name is Anders. I’m the owner of DataStarter. We create professional websites and marketing. We often get the question: What type of development tool, for a website, would we recommend? And why? To answer this, we need an overview of the different types of possibilities for creating a website. We have divided it into 3 groups: • Website Builders • Content management system (CMS) • Hand-coded Website Builders are cheap, extremely user-friendly, with drag and drop features. There is no need for experience or knowledge in coding or databases for creating a usable website. There are, however, shortcomings, such as limited site speed, lack of customisation, and restricted SEO options. Among the common used Website Builders are: • Wix • Weebly • Jimdo • Yola • Moonfruit Content management systems enables users to create professional websites with no technical background, but without the constraints one might have with Website Builders’ solutions. This allows users to get started quickly on their website, with very low costs, and top-of-the line design and professional functionality. Among the common used content management systems are: • Wordpress • Joomla • Drupal • Magneto • vBulletin Hand-coded websites are developed brick by brick or “code by code”. Coding languages are special commands, abbreviations and ways of arranging text. As one might expect, this requires a professional programmer and many hours of work. It is an expensive solution, but most often a better solution all around. This can be achieved in Content management systems, with the help of a programmer, although this is not the norm. Among the common used coding language are: • JavaScript • SQL • PHP • C# • Visual Basic Website Builders is a good tool to users that want a website up and running in a day. There is no special knowledge needed to this easy drag-and-drop solution. This is often free, but lack some key features compared to both the CMS and hand coded websites. Content management systems is the best choice for users who want the freedom to create and maintain a low-cost professional website themselves, without the need of a programmer every time a small change has to be made. If price is not an issue, then a hand-coded website is the best choice. It is, however, critical to know the capabilities of the programmer. SEO For Beginners: 3 Powerful SEO Tips to Rank #1 on Google in 2019

09:21
SEO For Beginners: 3 Powerful SEO Tips to Rank #1 on Google in 2019 Are you new to SEO and want to rank #1 on google this upcoming year? Here are 3 SEO strategies that will boost your rankings! #1: Focus on content Google has this update called Hummingbird, and with Hummingbird, websites who just have content on everything won't do as well as sites which focus on one single niche and are super thorough. You want to be VERY thorough with your SEO content. Poke holes in your content and fill them all up, so then that way people are like, "This is the end all site "that you should end up reading "if you're interested in dating online." #2: Optimize your title tag and your meta description Have you ever done a Google search, and noticed that every time you do it, there is this link at the top, and then there's this one sentence with a link at the top is called the title tag. And the description below is called the meta description. Now think of it this way, if you search for the phrase online dating, and you don't see the word online dating in neither the title or the description, are you going to click on the result? Well if you are, there's something wrong, because why would you click on a result that isn't related to what you're looking for? In addition to that, have you ever searched for a term like online dating? And have you ever noticed that the word isn't in the title or description? That's because Google tracks who's clicking on what listing, and they've learned that when a keyword is in the listing, that same keyword that you're searching for, they know you're way more likely to click through. So in your title tag and your meta description, make sure you include the keyword. But you can't just add the keyword, "online dating," right? The easiest way and what I would do and I wish it was this simple; I will just put "online dating, online dating, online dating, online dating." If I could put it 20 times so people would know that the article is on online dating, I wish I would get more clicks. But it's not that simple. Yes you have to include the keyword in your title and your description, but it has to be appealing. If it doesn't flow in a sentence, it's not easy to read, and it's not appealing or evoking curiosity, no one is gonna click through. #3: Use Google Search Console Did you know that Google gives you a tool that teaches you how to rank number one on Google? Yes I know that sounds ridiculous but it is true, and it's called Google Search Console. If you're not already a user of it, sign up. It doesn't cost a dollar. You're missing out if you're not using it. I can't emphasize that enough. So now that you're using Google Search Console...give it a few days because it takes some time to populate data. You'll see a screen that shows Search Analytics and this shows you all the pages on your website that are getting you traffic. But the cool thing about Google Search Console is they also show you which articles are getting impressions. Take all the keywords you're getting impressions for and start adding them to your copy. Now we have an article on Instagram, and it teaches you how to get over 300 targeted Instagram followers per day. The article is around 10,000 words. When I first wrote that article, it wasn't 10,000 words, it was roughly 2,500. I went to Google Search Console, I saw all the people that are searching for terms related to the article, I added them within that article. I made it more thorough and you know what? My SEO traffic more than tripled to that article. Yes it is that simple. And when I made that change, it didn't happen right away, but I noticed the results within 50 days. That's not a long time. Now that you've learned these three tips, I challenge you in which I want you to take these tactics and implement them, and then after you implement them, in the next 45 days I want you to leave a comment with your results. Because if you're not doing well, that means I'm not happy. Content Marketing Tips for Nonprofits

09:36
Welcome to: http://WholeWhale.com/ -You finally built your website…now what? You made all this great content but nobody is coming to your site. To cure your headaches watch this training video about very useful content marketing tips for your Nonprofit organization. To learn more, check out: http://www.wholewhale.com/tips/conten... ------- What Is Content Marketing? It’s pretty simple actually. Think of it as two different buckets for your website. One of them is what you already have (the “about us” page, or your “mission statement”). The other bucket is – what people want. They want what they’re searching for. So again – what is content marketing? It’s creating valuable, relevant, and consistent content in order to attract a specific audience. ------- How To “Do” Content Marketing? 1.Have a content platform Now that you know what it is, how do you actually “do” content marketing? It starts by having a platform. You need a content management system – think WordPress, Drupal. 2.Create regular content You have your platform, and now it’s time to start playing the game. Think about your audience. What do they need? What do they fear? Find the value that they’re looking for that helps them, informs them, or in some way improves what they’re already doing. 3.Create “evergreen” content Think of an evergreen tree. It’s green all year, it doesn’t shed, but at certain times of the year, like during Christmas, thousands of people are looking for evergreen trees to put in their homes. Think about content that could be relevant year-round, but also have episodic spikes of interest throughout the year. That’s the type of content that will produce the most value. 4.Have “hooks” to build an audience you can talk to As a nonprofit – you’re probably giving away free content, and free things all the time. Well, you will lose money if you continue to do that. This is why you need a “hook”. In other words – “why would somebody give you their information?” For this example, let’s think about an e-mail. If you get the person’s e-mail, and that permission to talk to them, the next time you put out free content you can reach out to them. You can also contact them the next time you do a fundraiser, or when looking for volunteers, etc. That’s how you build your audience. This is the most valuable asset that your organization will have. 5.Content distribution You created all this amazing content, now how do you get it out there? There are two simple ways. One is SEO – Search Engine Optimization. You have to build your site using the right keywords, and put it where people can find it. The other way to distribute your content is through SMO – Social Media Optimization. You can talk to anybody you want on social media. Create relationships. Perhaps you’ve written an article that highlights a different organization, or a product? Let them know! At some point they might feature your organization on their site. That’s the cycle you want to create. ------- You Must Measure It! This is the most important. How will you know if what you’re doing, is right? Look at your Google Analytics, and check what the data say. Then – adjust based on the results. Look for how people are searching for your types of content, and mimic what’s out there. Do more of what works and expand on it. ------- Whole Whale is a digital agency that leverages data and technology to increase the impact of nonprofits. In the same way the Inuits used every part of whale, Whole Whale leverages existing resources to see, "What else can this do for us?" By using data analysis, digital strategy, web development, and training, WW builds a 'Data Culture' within every nonprofit organization they work with. ------- Visit our website: http://wholewhale.com/ Check us out on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/WholeWhale Tweet us: https://twitter.com/WholeWhale

What Is a Content Management System? Benefits of Using a CMS

01:03
A content management system is a collaborative platform that allows multiple users to create, post, publish and modify digital content. Every website and web publishing platform runs on the basis of a content management system model. In short, a content management system is an application to manage contents digitally. While some CMS platforms follow a strict and defined author or ownership, many systems offer a multi-user front-end user interface for content management and publishing.
