Featured dredge pump equipment includes the Remote Operated Subdredge, Diver Operated Pump and a Excavator Attachment Dredge Pump. The first clip of this demo video shows an Eddy Pump moving Red Mud from a Bauxite Mining Operation, for Rio Tinto. Transport rates up to 50 percent solids by volume and slurry viscosity of 1000 centipoise were achieved, at pumping distances over 1.5 miles. The sample material can barely flow out of the cup! 2nd clip. The diver-operated Eddy Pump produces over 75 cubic yards of material per hour, for Sempra Energy’s Energy Costa Azul LNG Facility in Mexico. 3rd clip The 6-inch Eddy Pump is pumping over 70% solids by volume at rates of over 300 cubic meters per hour. No other pump can make sand stack like this! 4th clip On the left is a 6-inch Eddy Pump Excavator Attachment pumping coal ash for Newmont Mining in Indonesia and on the right is a 10-inch Dragflow Pump. The Eddy Pump moves twice the amount of solids. Look at the thickness of that flow, versus the watery discharge on the right. 5th The Eddy Pump 4-inch Subdredge was showcased on the Discovery Channel! The Subdredge was used for mining gold under the ice in the Bering Sea. As you can see it was lowered underneath the ice into the sea where it pumped sand, gravel and gold. No other technology has ever produced as much gold as the Eddy Pump in such short periods of time. The Subdredge was able to out-produce 5 divers. At the end of the day, the Subdredge won the show and was averaging 3-ounces of Gold an hour! The 4-inch Subdredge driving into a concrete-lined cooling water intake canal for the largest Power Plant in Mexico CFE. The Subdredge was able to pump material at solid rates of over 70% by volume and up to 150 cubic yards an hour of material. All of this was accomplished with no divers and without having any affect on the liner. The sand was being pumped vertically about 60-feet and horizontally over 1000-ft. This is a trial of my Gold Mining Rocker Box with a 12 volt Water Pump fitted to it. The pump is a 22 litres per minute Bilge Pump from BCF (Boating Camping Fishing store). I only ran 3/4 of a bucket of gravelly sand through it to make sure the water flow was enough for the job. It was. On this test I only found about 15 microdots of Gold and one small Gold flake. US Fire Pump "Big Water" Demonstration

In November 2017, US Fire Pump produced a flow of 30,000 gpm during a big water demonstration conducted at LSU's Fire & Emergency Training Institute in Baton Rouge, LA. Nearly 20,000 gallons per minute of the big flow originated from two USFP submersible units. Each submersible unit has two 5,000 gpm floating pumps for a combined flow of 10,000 gpm each. Four lines of 12-inch large diameter hose moved the water along a 300-foot hose run to the two mobile pump units. From there, the water moved down two 12-inch lines, one to the Deluge Apparatus and the other to the 8,000 gpm monitor trailer. Among the monitors used was USFP’s own trailer mounted deck gun with an output capable of 8,000-plus gpm.

Used to pump water to the huge brine wells on the banks of the River Wyre. There's four of these giant pumps within a half mile radius of each other, More video's of the other locations to come Here's the history - At Preesall, on the east bank of the River Wyre, a large area of land was given over to the mining of brine deposits. In 1889, the brine was sent in pipes across the river to the salt works at Burn Naze on the west bank. The brine mining was carried out by the Fleetwood Salt Co. Ltd, who leased 445 hectares at Preesall, obtained permission for the pipes across the river and leased a further 9 hectares of Burn Naze salt marsh for the works (see separate entry) . Before brine pumping came along, salt production by the evaporation of seawater had been a feature of the area around the mouth of the Wyre. Production of salt using this method was carried out in the 16th and 17th centuries. However, local methods moved on — to brine pumping, rock salt mining and then to the solution mining of modern times. Early brine mining commenced with a 170m deep borehole sunk at Fleetwood by the Royal Engineers in 1860. At Preesall, the Rev. Daniels and Daniel Elletson sank a 2.5m diameter half-brick lined shaft in 1875. Other shafts followed in the 1870s. Fleetwood Salt Company's 1885 borehole was 186m deep and dug under the direction of E. Fiddler and A. Anderson. They pumped the brine to the surface using a 'Bull' engine. In 1889, the company gained a monopoly on the deposits and proceeded to carry out the scheme already described. A small reservoir was constructed on a hill as part of the preparations for pumping brine to Burn Naze. The pipe across the river was 250mm in diameter, designed by Charles H. Beloe and laid by T. Riley. Pumping commenced in 1890 at a rate of 13,640 litres per hour. The rate soon fell to 3,410 litres, which was insufficient for the salt works, so a method of pumping from one shaft to another and extracting the collected volume was devised. The first white salt was produced at Burn Naze on the 25th February 1890. The company was then sold to United Alkali Co. Ltd. In 1891, Stanley Bros. of Nuneaton built some 460m of 1.7m diameter tunnel at Preesall using a Stanley Heading Machine. That same year, more land at Burn Naze was purchased for the making of carbonate of soda and the Wyre pipeline was replaced with 183m of 100mm rubber hose (later replaced by wire armoured hose). In 1892-3, boreholes were sunk at the ends of the tunnels and lined with perforated steel pipes. Two 122m wells were dug by Charles Chapman & Sons, and a pumping installation by Hathorn Davey & Co. — capable of raising 204,500 litres per hour — was installed. In 1897, North Field pumping station was built to use the forcing system. Around 1902, Preesall Salt Works was built to the north of the salt marshes on the east bank of the river. A branch line to the Garstang & Knott End Railway was laid in 1912. An ammonia soda works started production in 1924, later becoming part of the ICI Hillhouse Works. Brine extraction at Stalmine In 1872, while searching for iron ore, a syndicate of men from Barrow struck a bed of rock salt about 400ft beneath the surface in Preesall. During the 20th century salt in the form of brine was used as a chemical feedstock by ICI Chemicals and Polymers at the Hillhouse site, Thornton for the production of chlorine, caustic soda and soda ash. Most of the more recent brine wells were drilled in Stalmine. Water was pumped down the brine well which dissolved the Halite (salt) bed and the salt extracted in the form of brine (solution mining). The last brine well to be drilled was BW 135 at the Heads, Stalmine in November 1991.

Used to pump water to the huge brine wells on the banks of the River Wyre. There's four of these giant pumps within a half mile radius of each other, More video's of the other locations to come Here's the history - At Preesall, on the east bank of the River Wyre, a large area of land was given over to the mining of brine deposits. In 1889, the brine was sent in pipes across the river to the salt works at Burn Naze on the west bank. The brine mining was carried out by the Fleetwood Salt Co. Ltd, who leased 445 hectares at Preesall, obtained permission for the pipes across the river and leased a further 9 hectares of Burn Naze salt marsh for the works (see separate entry) . Before brine pumping came along, salt production by the evaporation of seawater had been a feature of the area around the mouth of the Wyre. Production of salt using this method was carried out in the 16th and 17th centuries. However, local methods moved on — to brine pumping, rock salt mining and then to the solution mining of modern times. Early brine mining commenced with a 170m deep borehole sunk at Fleetwood by the Royal Engineers in 1860. At Preesall, the Rev. Daniels and Daniel Elletson sank a 2.5m diameter half-brick lined shaft in 1875. Other shafts followed in the 1870s. Fleetwood Salt Company's 1885 borehole was 186m deep and dug under the direction of E. Fiddler and A. Anderson. They pumped the brine to the surface using a 'Bull' engine. In 1889, the company gained a monopoly on the deposits and proceeded to carry out the scheme already described. A small reservoir was constructed on a hill as part of the preparations for pumping brine to Burn Naze. The pipe across the river was 250mm in diameter, designed by Charles H. Beloe and laid by T. Riley. Pumping commenced in 1890 at a rate of 13,640 litres per hour. The rate soon fell to 3,410 litres, which was insufficient for the salt works, so a method of pumping from one shaft to another and extracting the collected volume was devised. The first white salt was produced at Burn Naze on the 25th February 1890. The company was then sold to United Alkali Co. Ltd. In 1891, Stanley Bros. of Nuneaton built some 460m of 1.7m diameter tunnel at Preesall using a Stanley Heading Machine. That same year, more land at Burn Naze was purchased for the making of carbonate of soda and the Wyre pipeline was replaced with 183m of 100mm rubber hose (later replaced by wire armoured hose). In 1892-3, boreholes were sunk at the ends of the tunnels and lined with perforated steel pipes. Two 122m wells were dug by Charles Chapman & Sons, and a pumping installation by Hathorn Davey & Co. — capable of raising 204,500 litres per hour — was installed. In 1897, North Field pumping station was built to use the forcing system. Around 1902, Preesall Salt Works was built to the north of the salt marshes on the east bank of the river. A branch line to the Garstang & Knott End Railway was laid in 1912. An ammonia soda works started production in 1924, later becoming part of the ICI Hillhouse Works. Brine extraction at Stalmine In 1872, while searching for iron ore, a syndicate of men from Barrow struck a bed of rock salt about 400ft beneath the surface in Preesall. During the 20th century salt in the form of brine was used as a chemical feedstock by ICI Chemicals and Polymers at the Hillhouse site, Thornton for the production of chlorine, caustic soda and soda ash. Most of the more recent brine wells were drilled in Stalmine. Water was pumped down the brine well which dissolved the Halite (salt) bed and the salt extracted in the form of brine (solution mining). The last brine well to be drilled was BW 135 at the Heads, Stalmine in November 1991.

Came across this old water pumping station while on a mine hike near the top of a remote section along Red Mountain. back when the red ore mines were in operation millions of gallons of water had to be pumped out of the mines deep underground everyday to keep from flooding. This site was most likely a water pipeline transfer station on top of the mountain and from this point the water was transferred via the pipelines down to a central water reservoir at the base of the mountain and from there to where ever it was sent or utilized. Was able to find an actual 1933 photo of this and it is at the end of the video. Incredible engineering back then to accomplish all this.

While unemployed in the winter of 2015-16, I set out to build a 3" gold dredge on the cheap. I acquired most of the components for it, but still needed the part that does all the work: the water pump. Manufactured pumps a little over my current budget, so I figured I would try building one. I just happened to find the perfect size motor for this project buried in my shed. After doing some searching I was unable to find a project quite like this anywhere, so I decided to make a video of it. The project took about two weeks of working a few hours a day on it to complete. The power tools I used were a wire feed welder, 20 volt drill, drill press, scroll saw, belt sander, and dremel tool.

We attached this antique replica iron hand pump to a wood barrel that flips over a rubbermaid trash can full of water. We goof off after we finish and are like two monkeys with a water pump and a barrel! In this video we show how we set up an old western hand operated antique water pump mounted on top of an old wine barrel help give the kids that old fashioned homesteading feel. Warning there is more fooling around than how to in these clips. We share how we mount and hook up a red heavy cast iron hand water pump spout garden well. This old fashioned water pump can be a beautiful yard decoration and working pump or you could turn it into a fountain or water feature. Holes built into the base to easily mount to any surface if you like. We mount it to the top of an old wine barrel. The water pump measures 15 1/2" Tall, 7 1/4" across at the base, 15 1/4" long handle, 3 1/4" long front watering nozzle. The "plunger" inside of this pump is made of leather just like the old ones used to be made and works really well. The water can be changed out just before each of the mining activities. I used PVC fittings and pipe to plumb the underside of the pump to catch the water. Just one more thing for the little guys and gals to do on their fun days at the old mining town! We plan on using one of these and incorporating it into our home or yard haunt this year for Halloween so the trick or treaters can play.
