11 Secrets to Memorize Things Quicker Than Others

10:46
We learn things throughout our entire lives, but we still don’t know everything because we forget a lot of information. Bright Side will tell you about 11 simple memorizing tips that will help you remember everything and improve your memory. TIMESTAMPS Why we forget things 1:04 How to remember everything 2:00 How to memorize something quickly 2:30 How to memorize something for a long time 3:20 Try to understand what you learn 4:17 Learn the most necessary information 5:11 Serial position effect 5:45 Interference theory 6:06 Learn opposite things 7:22 Build your own «mind palace» 7:22 Use «nail words» 8:19 Make up stories 8:40 Use a tape recorder 9:10 Visualize 9:51 Choose only the best materials 9:59 SUMMARY - Your brain is like a hard drive — the space is limited. Remember Sherlock Holmes? He couldn’t name all the planets of the Solar system — this was not because he missed school or something like that, but because he was too smart to have such irrelevant information in his memory. He deliberately erased facts he would never need. This is what your brain does: it protects you from overloading with information. That’s why all new data is stored in the short-term memory, not the long-term one. So, if you don’t repeat it or use it, you forget it very quickly. A German psychologist, Hermann Ebbinghaus researched the memory and its mechanisms. He described the Forgetting Curve which shows that just one hour after learning something new we forget more than half of the learned information. One day later we remember only about 30% percent. Well, you see where this is going. - There is a memorization technique called «Spaced repetition». To keep some information in your head for a longer time, you need to try to put it into your long-term memory. Forced memorization is not very effective in this case because your brain can’t make sense of the information quickly and form strong associations. Here it all depends on the reason why you are learning something. - To memorize something quickly, repeat the information right after learning it. The second repetition should be after 15-20 minutes. You don’t need to return to the information between repetitions — just rest and do something different. Let your brain relax. Repeat the learned material the third time after 6-8 hours. And you should have the final repetition 24 hours after the first contact with the information. Do you know any other memorizing tips? If yes, share them in the comment section below! 30 GENIUS HACKS FOR YOUR LIFE

19:57
GENIUS HACKS FOR ANY SITUATION These life hacks and tricks are gonna be unexpectedly helpful in numerous life situations. If you often use eyewear you'll like these hacks. If your glasses often fogging up, I advise you to rub some plain soap into the glasses and then wipe it up with a napkin as usual. When your eyeglasses keep slipping down, take two rubber bands, tie them round the temples of the glasses. That's it, no more slipping down! If you're just trying to pick up a new pair of glasses or buying eyewear for the first time, don't forget to take the table test. Simply put the eyeglasses right on the table and then carefully look at the glasses' temple tips, whether they both reach the table surface or not. If not, it means the temple tips are of different length! It may cause a lot of discomfort while wearing them. In case you have high myopia of −6.00 diopters or more and accidentally lost your eyewear on the working desk. Grab your phone, turn on the camera and zoom in on the table surface until you see your glasses. Another nasty problem every four-eyed probably faced - scratches on the lenses. Put some toothpaste on the lens and rub it in. Did you know how handy plastic bags can be? You can use them as a smartphone case to protect your gadget from the damp and sand when you take it to the beach with you. You can cook an awesome puffy omelet using plastic bag as well! Cloud Computing Services Models - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained

06:43
https://ecoursereview.com/cloud-computing-pros-and-cons-for-business-it/ 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services: IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained You Might Wonder – What Is Cloud Computer: #Cloudcomputing is a set of forms that contain certain elements that allows for on-demand, network access, scalability, and shared resources. It's a platform for managing, storing, and processing data online through the internet. Some of the cloud computing features include the following: - On-Demand Services – Available when you need it - Network Access – When using the internet as your medium - Shared Resources – All resources are gathered together and used by multiple customers - Scalability - The ability of a computer system to adapt to increasing demands The Three Delivery Models: Cloud computing provides different services based on three delivery configurations. When they are arranged in a pyramid structure, they are in the order of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. The Three Services: #SaaS - Software as a Service This service provides on-demand pay per use of the application software for users and is independent of a platform. You do not have to install software on your computer, unlike a license paid program. Cloud runs a single occurrence of the software, making it available for multiple end-users allowing the service to be cheap. All the computing resources that are responsible for delivering SaaS are totally managed by the vendor. The service is accessible through a web browser or lightweight client applications. End customers use SaaS regularly. The most popular SaaS providers offer the following products and services: Google Ecosystem including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Microsoft Office 365, and SalesForce. #PaaS - Platform as a Service This service is mostly a development environment that is made up of a programming language execution environment, an operating system, web server, and database. It provides an environment where users can build, compile, and run their program without worrying about an hidden infrastructure. You manage the data and application resources. All the other resources are managed by the vendor. This is the realm for developers. PaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon Web services, Elastic Beanstalk, Google App Engine, Windows Azure, Heroku, and Force.com #IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service This service provides the architecture and infrastructure. It provides all computing resources but in a virtual environment so multiple users can have access. The resources include data storage, virtualization, servers, and networking. Most vendors are responsible for managing them. If you use this service, you are responsible for handling other resources including applications, data, runtime, and middleware. This is mostly for SysAdmins. IaaS providers offer the following products and services: Amazon EC2, Go Grid, and Rackspace.com. Here is a short list of some companies that use cloud computing: iCloud – Cloud from Apple is for Apple products. You can backup and store everything from multimedia to documents online. The content is then smoothly integrated onto your devices. Amazon's AWS - When you talk about companies using cloud computing, Amazon Web Services leads the pack. It offers IaaS and PaaS to all their customers. Google Cloud – This cloud platform is universal for Google's enormous ecosystem and for other products such as Microsoft Office. It provides storage of data and collaboration along with other services that are included in their cloud computing suite. Microsoft Azure – Offered by Microsoft, it provides SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS for its software and developer tools. If you have used Office 365, then you have used SaaS. IBM Smart Cloud - This offers private, public, and hybrid distribution platforms providing a full range of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud computing services for businesses. The pay as you go platform generates profits for IBM. New technology is popping up all over the internet and Cloud seems to be on the rise. This is only scratching the surface on what is already available and what will become available throughout 2017. --- 3 Types of Cloud Computing Services - IaaS PaaS SaaS Explained https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36zducUX16w #CloudComputingServices #CloudComputing --- Follow us on https://www.facebook.com/EcourseReviews https://twitter.com/EcourseReviews https://plus.google.com/+Ecoursereview/posts https://ecoursereview.com/

Technical SEO Is BS! Do This Instead 😎

Is it meta tags? Title tags? Your keyword density? What exactly is it? Well that's exactly what it is, stop worrying. There are so many things that you could optimize but should you spend time optimizing them? Personally we outsource all of that in our agency simply due to the fact that it takes away time from what is high impact - creating content and getting links SEO is a powerful mechanism in the sense that it can bring you thousands of free impressions in the search results. This is partly why a lot of my time is spent optimizing for search But this can confuse some, you may believe that you should focus on 200+ ranking factors but that is simply just BS! You don't need that many items to focus on! Follow this simple concept to rank in Google: - create content (put it out) - get feedback (how did that content perform?) - optimize for the next time (keep moving) Keeping your motivation to keep creating content is crucial to your success in search rankings. How to Write an Abstract Step-by-Step (With Examples)

09:20
How to Write an Abstract. Once you’re done with your academic paper after months of hard work, you’ll also need to create an abstract of your paper, too. Since this writing summarizes and represents your work, you’ll want it to be picture perfect, right? Lucky for you, we’ve put together some tips on writing the best abstract, so pay close attention! TIMESTAMPS Find out the requirements 0:55 Pick the right abstract type 1:42 Consider your readers 3:27 Explain the importance of your research 4:10 Explain the problem and your methods 4:45 Avoid copy-pasting 5:19 Keep it well-structured and logical 6:15 Include key phrases and words 7:00 Sum it up 7:49 Editing and proofreading 8:18 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Whether you’re writing it to apply for a conference, grant, journal publication, or work project, find out if there are any specific requirements regarding its length and style. -When it comes to abstract types, you have two options to choose from: descriptive versus informative. Normally, descriptive abstracts are written for shorter papers, and informative ones for longer more technical pieces. -Fellow scholars from the same research field will easily get the ideas and special terminology you use, while average readers or people from another scientific field probably won’t grasp complicated concepts. -As you get down to actually writing the abstract, there are four key points you wanna hit when explaining the importance of your research to your readers. -It’s really important to define the scope of your research. It’s imperative that your research has a key claim or argument, which is definitely worth mentioning in the abstract. -Your abstract should be an independent piece of writing and not a collage of disconnected paraphrased sentences. -No matter how short it has to be, your abstract should be built according to the usual essay model and have an introduction, body, and conclusion. -If you want your prospective readers to be able to find your work among millions of publications, adding 5 to 10 important key words or phrases to your abstract will certainly help. -An informative abstract should explain what answers the research helped you find and if it supported your original argument. -Check your abstract several times for grammar and spelling, and don’t forget to format it the right way. Another pair of eyes won’t hurt either. 10 Oldest Technologies Scientists Still Can’t Explain

16:49
Thousands of years ago great minds managed to create incredible technologies that were way ahead of their time, like a fire that couldn’t be extinguished by water, an unbreakable medieval sword, and even an ancient computer from 200 B.C.E.! You’d be surprised to find out what crazy inventions existed back then that science still can’t explain today. If you’re ready to learn more about these mind-blowing ancient inventions plus a whole lot more, then keep on watching. TIMESTAMPS The stone globes of Costa Rica 0:59 The Roman dodecahedron 3:16 The Phaistos Disk in Crete 4:48 Greek fire 6:14 Damascus steel 7:31 The Iron pillar of Delhi 8:37 The Viking Ulfberht sword 10:11 The Voynich manuscript 11:56 The Zhang Heng seismograph 14:06 The Antikythera mechanism 15:12 #oldtechnology #damascucsteel #viking Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Granodiorite rocks can easily be carved using temperature techniques. Hundreds of stone spheres were found quarried in the foothills of the Talamanca Mountains. Researchers even saw a gigantic ball weighing over 16 tons. -The Roman dodecahedron had 12 flat pentagon-shaped faces with a knob protruding on each corner. It might have been a dice, a kid’s toy, a candle holder, a simple decoration, a measuring device on the battlefield, or an astronomical instrument, to name a few. -The Phaistos Disk was made from clay and measures about 6.2 inches in diameter. Experts concluded that it was a prayer to an ancient Minoan goddess. -The formula of Greek fire was a well-guarded state secret for over 7 centuries. Greek fire was used in naval warfare. -Blades made from Damascus steel were the most sought after in medieval Europe. And that’s because they were the best swords at the time. -The Iron pillar of Delhi dates back to the Gupta period, which lasted from about 240 to 590 C.E. A small amount of rust has started to form, but it is strange that there isn’t more. -Viking Ulfberht swords are believed to have been made around 800 to 1,000 C.E., but experts were sure that the technology used to make swords of such extraordinary quality didn’t come around until 800 years later. -The Voynich manuscript has 240 pages broken up into four sections: herbal, astrological, balneological, and pharmacological. There have literally been dozens of failed attempts to crack this thing. -In 132 C.E., Zhang Heng, a Chinese inventor, astronomer, engineer, scientist, scholar, and artist, invented a seismoscope and presented it to the Han court as an instrument for measuring seasonal winds and the Earth’s movements. -The Antikythera mechanism was retrieved by a group of divers in 1900 and has been dubbed “the world’s first analog computer” and it was made around 200 B.C.E. Transforming cities with technology | The Economist

18:59
Cities are growing faster than at any time in history, straining services and infrastructure. Technology-driven advances are at the forefront of solving this age-old problem Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 By 2050, two thirds of the world’s population will live in cities. Urbanisation is happening faster than at any time in human history. Globally, 900 million people are living in slums. Cities can’t add housing fast enough. Today, an estimated one billion vehicles are already bringing urban areas to a standstill. Cities consume three-quarters of the world’s energy each year and are responsible for around 50% of greenhouse gas emissions. These are challenges our cities have been facing for decades. But now some city leaders, businesses, and even citizens, are taking new approaches to tackling these old problems. They’re transforming their cities with technology. In Seoul, the use of data is seen as the key to tackling some of the big challenges of city life - like moving its people around. City workers here use sophisticated technology to understand and transform how the city - and its metro - can be run. The subway system transports 7 million people every day. It’s widely regarded as one of the best in the world. And the entire network from wheels to workers is driven by data. The speed and frequency of the trains can be constantly adjusted to keep everything running smoothly. “Smart” cameras measure how many passengers are boarding - and how quickly and sensors on the trains and tracks monitor every last component to provide early warnings when maintenance is required and prevent a costly breakdown. They use smartphone apps, social media and the web to give citizens real-time alerts and alternative routes - and keep this megacity running smoothly. Transport is just the start. Seoul’s city planners are using data to better understand more of the big challenges this fast-growing city faces, from air pollution to affordable housing. There are an estimated 30,000 start-ups in South Korea - many of which are offering innovative solutions to challenges like the city’s housing shortages. One company uses this open-source data to pair up young people looking for accommodation with older citizens who have rooms to spare. It’s a tiny offshoot of an industry that is growing rapidly in cities across the world. By 2020, this so-called “smart city” industry will be worth an estimated $1.5 trillion dollars. There’ll be investment in everything from networks and sensors to new apps and services, from the world’s biggest technology firms, to innovative new startups working from someone’s front room. This is the headquarters of FLARE, a start-up based in Kenya. Its young entrepreneurs are working with real-time data sourced from that most ubiquitous of modern innovations: the smartphone. Kenya’s capital, Nairobi is emerging as a vibrant tech hub. It is also one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Home to 4.2 million people, it’s more than doubled its population in the last 20 years. As in many cities in developing countries the ageing, inadequate infrastructure is struggling to cope. The problem isn't a shortage of ambulances - Nairobi has 150 of them - double the number needed in an average city. But the city has no centralized emergency service to coordinate them. Residents here are faced with 50 different numbers to call for help - and no guarantee when - or whether - their ambulance will arrive. The app aims to do the job of a centralized emergency service, compiling real-time data to coordinate and connect patients in need, available ambulances and the right hospitals or healthcare providers. Across the developing world, innovators are increasingly exploiting existing technology to help citizens cope with their cities’ overstretched infrastructure. In America, innovators are also looking ahead to the next wave - anticipating data-driven technologies that could help predict problems before they even happen. Boston, Massachusetts, is the 10th largest metropolitan area in America. It’s home to 4.8 million residents. And while Boston may be one of the oldest urban settlements in this country it’s fast developing world leading technology that could help shape the cities of the future. This is the mission of MIT’s Senseable City Lab - to anticipate the impact of technology on urban life and use it to transform the way cities are run. Inspiring the next generation of female engineers | Debbie Sterling | TEDxPSU

17:09
Close your eyes and picture and engineer. You probably weren't envisioning Debbie Sterling. Debbie Sterling is an engineer and founder of GoldieBlox, a toy company out to inspire the next generation of female engineers. She has made it her mission in life to tackle the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math. GoldieBlox is a book series+construction set that engages kids to build through the story of Goldie, the girl inventor who solves problems by building simple machines. Debbie writes and illustrates Goldie's stories, taking inspiration from her grandmother, one of the first female cartoonists and creator of ""Mr. Magoo."" Her company, launched in 2012, raised over $285,000 in 30 days through Kickstarter, and has been featured in numerous publications such as The Atlantic and Forbes. Prior to founding GoldieBlox, Debbie served as the Marketing Director of Lori Bonn, a national jewelry company. For the past 7 years, she has also served as a brand strategy consultant for a wide variety of organizations including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Organic Valley and the New York Knicks. Debbie's inspiration to create a mission-driven company came in 2008, when she spent 6 months volunteering at a grassroots nonprofit in rural India. She created a viral fundraising campaign called ""I Want a Goat,"" raising over $30,000 for economic and educational development in the region. This experience helped pave the way to finding her true passion: inspiring the next generation of female engineers. Debbie completed her degree in engineering at Stanford (Product Design, '05) and currently lives with her husband in San Francisco. American Bright ezyLED | AAC Digital Datasheet

01:37
View full article: https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/industry-articles/american-bright-ezyled-aac-digital-datasheet/ American Bright’s ezyLED shrinks and simplifies LED system designs. The ezyLED requires no external passives and integrates a driver IC, allowing it to be directly connected to a 12 V or 24 V supply. This approach offers many practical benefits to the designer and user, besides the design simplification. The integrated driver actively manages the current through the LED, keeping the device within its operating temperature range to increase reliability and ensure a long product life, and because each ezyLED is independently driven, increasing light output is as easy as placing LEDs in parallel. The driver also has a wide input voltage range: 10.5 V to 24 V for the 12 V ezyLED and 22.5 V to 36 V for the 24 ezyLED. This ensures consistent LED current, light output, and color temperature even if the power supply’s voltage fluctuates or varies from its nominal voltage. With no external passives, the design cycle is easier and faster. There’s no need to validate different passives and there are fewer components to save the trouble of managing additional long lead time components. This also results in less component shadowing. AVX TCJ Polymer Series | Tech Specs

01:11
View full article: https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/new-industry-products/avx-tcj-polymer-series-tech-specs/ AVX TCJ and TCM polymer chip capacitors offer very low ESR, a wide range of package sizes, and voltage ratings up to 125 volts. Just as important, though, is that they do not ignite if they fail. The conductive polymer electrode reduces ESR, with the TCJ series offering ESR values as low as 10 milliohms, while the TCM series has a multianode design that lowers ESR even further, as low as 6 milliohms, accommodating higher ripple currents. Capacitors in the two series are available with capacitance values from 0.47 to 1000 microfarads, voltage ratings from 2.5 to 125 volts, and in 18 case sizes ranging from 0805 to 2924. The F38 polymer chip capacitors offer subminiature case sizes of 0402, 0603, and 0805, while the TCN polymer series offers low profile capacitors down 0.6 mm height. Primitive Technology: Cord drill and Pump drill

08:24
I made a cord drill and then upgraded it to a pump drill. A cord drill is basically a spindle with a fly wheel attached so it looks like a spinning top. the middle of a piece of cord is then put into a notch at the top of the spindle. The ends of the cord are then wrapped around the spindle and then pulled quickly outwards causing the drill to spin. The momentum of the fly wheel causes the cord to wrap back around the spindle in the other direction. When it stops the cords are pulled outwards again and the drill spins in the other direction. I made the first one with a stone flywheel then made fire with it in the same way I make fire with fire sticks. Then I made and fired some clay fly wheels, made another drill with one of the fly wheels and fitted a stone drill bit to the end. This one I use for drilling holes in wood. I used the new drill to make a hole in a piece of wood. I then put the spindle of the original cord drill through the hole in the wood, tied the ends of the cord onto the piece of wood and it became a pump drill. The cords were wrapped round the spindle as normal but now a pumping action of the wooden cross bar created the same action. This was an interesting project. For fire making I'd stick to fire sticks because the equipment is easier to make. But for people with soft hands they could use the cord drill as it won't give them blisters. It should be added that the pump drill actually took longer than the cord drill (cord: 32 seconds, pump 1 min 30 seconds -the pump drill scene was edited down to make it watchable). The pump drill had more moving parts and was constantly having problems. As a fire making method I'd choose the cord drill over the pump drill unless all the parts were well made. The main purpose I'd use these tool for is drilling holes rather than fire making. It was reasonably good but the stone bits I made could be improved and their attachment to the shaft also needs some thought. If the bit loosens and gets off axis slightly the whole thing wobbles. These drills are impressive inventions and show potential for carpentry use later on. Powering the Future: Solid State Batteries

15:05
Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/neoscribe Ever since Sony released the first commercial Lithium Ion Battery in 1991, the technology has been great, powering our mobile computers, cordless power tools, and electric vehicles. But we will need even better battery technology in order to power the innovations of the future! A future filled with robots, electric VTOLs, and electric vehicles with ranges comparable to their petrol counterparts. There are many researchers around the world developing cutting-edge battery technology, and the technology I am most excited about is Solid State Battery Technology. Research for Solid State Battery Technology has exploded recently and there is a global race to develop and commercialize it. But before we get into all of that, since Solid State Batteries are similar to Lithium Ion batteries, let’s quickly cover how a lithium-ion battery works. First, solid state batteries will be safer. You see, the liquid electrolytes in lithium-ion batteries are flammable, and the batteries creates a lot of heat. On top of being safer, solid-state batteries will perform better than batteries today.
