Bad Teacher movie clips: http://j.mp/2nVHIBd BUY THE MOVIE: http://bit.ly/2p2ynrb Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) shifts gears in her classroom and makes her students learn whether they like it or not. FILM DESCRIPTION: A booze-swilling, pot-smoking, hard-swearing seventh-grade teacher rallies to get out of the classroom for good by wrangling a rich substitute teacher into marriage in this comedy from director Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story). Cynical teacher Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) hates her job. She can't wait for the day she finds a man who makes enough cash to let her walk away from her life of middle-school misery, and when her fianc cancels their wedding plans, her frantic search intensifies. Just when it starts to look like Elizabeth will have to muscle her way through another semester of skull-crushing hangovers, however, handsome substitute Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) shows up at school sporting a fancy wristwatch and the promise of a care-free future. But in order to earn her meal ticket, Elizabeth will have to out-cute perky fellow teacher Amy (Lucy Punch). And it won't be easy, because Scott is crushing on Amy hard. Now, if Elizabeth can just motivate her students to study so that she can win a state contest to earn enough cash for some new breast implants, perhaps she can finally find a means of diverting Scott's gaze. Meanwhile, much to Elizabeth's chagrin, wisecracking, self-effacing gym teacher Russell (Jason Segel) refuses to admit defeat despite being turned down for a date by his gold-digging colleague time and again. Collocations are commonly put together pairings of words. They can be weakly or strongly related. Learning them will greatly enhance your students' use of vocabulary and speaking skills. So here are a few fun and memorable activities you can use to practise them. Collocation race The easiest way to practise collocations is to have students sort them into columns on the board. Split the board into columns with half a collocation as a heading. Then call out, hand out or provide the other half and have students put them in the right columns. To make this competitive, create two teams and have a race. Collocation place Divide your teaching space into several areas and assign one half of a collocation to each area. Then call out the other half. Students must move to the space which represents the matching collocation pair. Once they get there, have them make a sentence using the collocation. Collocation aim Great for young learners, or just doing something a bit different! Get the students to screw up paper into balls. Draw targets on the board and assign them a collocation half. Then call out the other half and have students throw their balls at the correct target. Or, if you have a class that gets on well, you can assign students as targets for a bit of fun. Collocation mingle Print collocations on cards – half of the pair on one card and the other half on another. Distribute these cards to students and have them mingle with each other to try and find their collocation partner. To make things a bit more challenging, use one or two collocations that could have more than one possible pairing. Collocation gap fill For higher level students, or those doing academic work. Take an authentic text, find relevant collocations and blank out one half of each collocation pair. Then give the students the text and ask them to work together to complete it using whatever word they think is correct. Drama can be used to improve children's reading and writing. Louise Blakemore of Gordon Junior School is reading 'The Green Children' by Kevin Crossley-Holland with her Year 6 class. She uses a range of drama techniques to help them engage more fully with the text and develop more insight into the characters. The techniques include Freeze Frame, Role on the Wall, Teacher in Role, Improvisation, Writing in Role and Decision Alley. Teresa Grainger, Education Adviser, explains that 70 to 80 % of Key Stage 2 SATS is about what words mean and that these techniques allow the pupils to explore layers of meaning. This also extends their vocabulary which helps their writing. Louise stresses that you don't have to be an actor to use drama. What's important is knowing the class well, knowing techniques and planing how to use them. Teresa stresses the importance of building up slowly so that the children feel in a safe environment where no-one will laugh at them. Licensed to CPD College Ltd.
