Manitoba's Jim Carr has been appointed Minister of Natural Resources. The energy industry is part of Carr's ministry so it makes sense to have a non-Albertan in the role -- since he'll be responsible for destroying even more Alberta oil industry jobs. WATCH to see why this mandate makes it clear that Trudeau is going to war against Canada's carbon based industries. This is no surprise since Trudeau's top advisor is "green" extremist and social engineer Gerald Butts. His Liberal Party friends made millions off Butts' disastrous green plan in Ontario. It’s been a roller coaster week filled with political drama and suspense over yet more evidence of land grab by the Vega family, and the allegation that there was fraud involved. After weeks of land scandals exposed in the media, a statement by Belizean Amy Forte that her name appears in the documents and that she was never a party to such land transaction has drawn national attention on the doings of former Minister of Natural Resources and his family. If you look at the record of the Ministry since 2008 when Gaspar Vega became Minister, there has been one common theme: scandals. We take a look at some of the controversies that have surfaced over the years.Of course, there have been many more instances of questionable land transactions. One of the major ones that further led to Vega’s resignation from Barrow’s Cabinet in October 2016 is the evidence that the Ministry paid $400,000 to his son Andre Vega as compensation for land he bought from Hilmar Alamilla for $15,000. Alamilla was sold the land by the Government initially, even though land officials had indicated that the property was privately owned. Attorney Sharon Pitts was also paid compensation of $400,000 in a similar manner. The Government is seeking to get back the monies through court action.

Sheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media introduces us to the federal Liberal government’s new natural resources minister: The Honourable James Gordon Carr. If you haven't heard of him before, don't feel bad. Neither had the Calgary-based Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC). They had to google him, too. So, who is he? Carr is the new Liberal MP for the Winnipeg riding of South Centre - and he's green, really green. Carr has been endorsed by the environmentalist think tank GreenPac, and he has referred to Canada as a "colossal fossil" regarding the federal government’s approach to climate change. Championing a national energy strategy, he once praised the efforts of disgraced former Alberta premier Alison Redford. That's troubling, because Carr is the minister responsible for pipelines, mining, exploration, minerals and extraction. At first glance, his appointment is hardly confidence-inspiring for those with ties to the mining world and to the oil and gas industry. ZAMBIAN LANDS MINISTER SHOCKS PARLIAMENT WITH REVELATION THAT THE NEWLY PROPOSED NATIONAL LAND POLICY DID NOT APPLY TO BAROTSELAND! The Zambian minister in charge of the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources, Hon. Jean Kapata, shocked many when she told Parliament on Tuesday 17th July 2018 that the draft National Land policy currently under consideration by her Ministry did not apply to Barotseland. When asked why the Western region was given this special treatment in the unitary state of Zambia by other parliamentarians, she answered that the Zambian constitution stipulated so, and that there was nothing her government could do about it.

In Senate Question Period, Senator Denise Batters challenges Trudeau's Natural Resources Minister on the Anti-Pipeline Bill C-69. This unfixable government bill intrudes on provincial jurisdiction, setting up even more potential federal-provincial court battles. Senator Batters also questions why Minister Sohi isn't standing up for his home province of Alberta or the energy industry at the Trudeau Government Cabinet table. In his two minute answer, Min. Sohi only utters the word "pipelines" once, and doesn't even try to defend his government's terrible Bill C-69 -- which was the subject of Senator Batters's question. (October 16, 2018)

Turkey will conduct seismic studies for oil and gas drilling activities, two in the Black Sea, and two in the Mediterranean from this year onwards, Berat Albayrak, Turkish energy and natural resources minister said Thursday. Albayrak presented Turkey's national energy strategy in Istanbul where he promised that Turkey would focus its diversification of energy sources on local resources. "Turkey will produce a geophysical map of its territory to get a full picture of our natural resources. We aim to complete the map by 2018," Albayrak said. Domestic production and R&D are essential for Turkey's development, he said, adding that domestic coal resources, which transpires to be more calorie-rich than previously, thought, will be an important part of Turkey's energy strategy. "One of my personal ambitions was to create a national solar energy tender, and we did this. Our next step is to set up a national wind tender," he said, adding that discussions have been held with significant global wind energy companies to obtain their input in order to revise strategies before holding the wind tender before the end of the summer.
