Until now, the cornerstone piece of my sales strategy is a comprehensive questionnaire that I send out to a potential client during the sales process. The assessment is a complete look at the business and asks probative questions that uncover in which areas is the business doing well and in which areas can the business improve and optimize right away. The sections of the questionnaire include the background of the owner, the background of the business, the past sales, the client base, and every traditional and online marketing pillar out there (SEO, PPC, email, social, affiliates, strategic partners, customer referrals, analytics, video, mobile marketing, competitive intelligence etc.) Do you have a process like this where a client fills out a questionnaire about their business? Why or why not. If you did have an effective assessment that helped the client gain clarity on their business and see your value to help them grow, where would you put in in your e-mail sales process? I said...I'm really glad to hear you found value in the 25k email campaign post. In regards to your question about questionnaire/assessment forms...yes I use them. I think they are very important. If at all possible, I suggest you ask the prospect to complete the form before the free consultation. Here is the simplest way I know how to do it: Have your follow-up sequence explain the benefits with each message leading to a questionnaire. Sample flow: Run ad -- free consult registration page -- 1st big benefit of your service (link to questionnaire) -- 2nd big benefit of your service (link to questionnaire) -- 3rd big benefit of your service (link to questionnaire) -- 4th big benefit of your service (link to questionnaire) -- 5th big benefit of your service (link to questionnaire) Each follow-up can be a video, blog post, or just a well-explained email. Alarmed by the nonsensical ideas of Transactional Analysis, Patrick Vermeren set out on a mission to reveal the truth about the many HR theories, models and questionnaires. The academic literature revealed that most HR practices (in recruitment, assessment, development, coaching…) are very problematic and some even dangerous. In this Talk valid alternatives are presented. Patrick Vermeren has been active as a consultant, trainer and coach since 1996. He built on his experience at major Belgian banks ( Cera and Dexia) and an American multinational ( Procter & Gamble). Since he joined Perco he advises HR professionals and he guides groups and individuals in the areas of leadership, coaching and facilitating decision making in groups ( participation). He also assists CEOs, managers and high potentials through training and personal coaching. ** Please Like the Video and Subscribe, Thanks ** So what’s the right strategy to dramatically increase employee engagement in your organization? Well let’s first talk about the wrong strategy... Usually, someone from HR has to convince the CEO to spend money on an employee survey. And when the results come back, the data is hoarded by the senior leadership and a committee is formed to brainstorm ways to improve engagement. The committee implements things like an employee appreciation day, an awards program and perhaps even a tweak to the benefits. But the problem with this approach is that over seventy percent of the variance in engagement correlates to the manager. In other words, who your boss is. Front line leaders are the regulators of engagement. So all those top down ideas don’t matter if you’ve still got the same boss, and if your boss hasn’t changed his behaviors. The right employee engagement strategy instead of being top down, is from the bottom up. First, if you want to improve something, measure it. So you do need to conduct an employee engagement survey. Second, make sure each manager gets her own score report. What is the engagement score for her team, and how does it compare with the average score throughout the company. Finally, third step…have managers shares their results with their own teams. It’s not an HR meeting, nothing fancy or formal. Grab a pizza, get in a conference room and do it over a long lunch. The manager is the facilitator, not the problem solver. What areas did we do well in? What should we focus on for improvement? Because the front line workers are the ones who completed the survey, THEY are the only ones who can tell you what needs to change. http://academlib.com/3736/management/bridge_business_strategies#587 Although companies usually have one (corporate) HR strategy, they are likely to have multiple functional HR strategies since the HR department is typically divided into functions such as compensation and staffing. However, a challenge is that it is difficult to find companies that explicitly delineate (corporate) HR strategy, functional HR strategies, and HR practices. We argue that it is important for HR professionals to do so as this facilitates the alignment of practices corresponding to different types of HR strategies. By aligning functional HR strategies with (corporate) HR strategy (i.e., vertical alignment), horizontal alignment among functional HR strategies will naturally follow. We believe this to be one of the benefits of having an explicit (corporate) HR strategy. Moreover, since HR practices are driven by functional HR strategies, the vertical alignment of functional HR strategies with HR strategy is a key to facilitating SHRM. Horizontal consistency among functional HR strategies is also crucial in assisting SHRM since this enables HR practices under each functional HR strategy to be aligned with (corporate) HR strategy, which is linked with to business strategy and the strategic management perspective the TMT deems most applicable to their firm. ...
