Get ripped in 90 days - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW Eating healthy is a requirement if you want to get ripped and lose body fat fast. The problem is, often times foods masquerade themselves as healthy when they are anything but. In this video, I show you how to spot the 8 biggest healthy foods making you fat. We call these trap foods because they sneak up on you when you least expect it. I don’t care how much you are training or working out, if you refuse to get your nutrition in check you will never look as lean as you should or could. Proper nutrition and good food choices are required to get ripped. What I hate however is when you are misled into thinking that certain foods should be in your diet because they are “healthy”. You blindly trust the guidance and then wind up frustrated when you aren’t seeing the results for your efforts. In order to fix this once and for all, you simply have to educate yourself about these traps so you can avoid them in favor of better choices. First up is guacamole. Recently, I did a video on how the healthy fats in avocado are great for your body. The problem is, people confuse healthy foods for lean foods. Packing a huge calorie wallop with every tablespoon, we tend to overlook the impact eating this food can quickly have on our waistline by eating almost 10-12 tablespoons per serving on average. Sure, healthy fats are healthy, but like anything else…eaten in excess you will quickly run into trouble with them. Low fat or lite versions of foods are often way worse than the full fat, regular versions. Beyond the fact that they usually just do a sugar for fat swap, you’re also getting a bunch of chemicals thrown in to these highly processed foods that you probably want to avoid all together. Now I know a lot of people like to have their morning glass of OJ or other fruit juice, but if you are looking to get ripped then you are far better off opting for water and getting your fruit in solid form. The amount of sugars packed into these “healthy” drinks is astounding. In fact, you are likely to find that a comparison between them and a glass of soda yield almost the same amount. Add in the fact that liquid calories are far too easy to consume (and don’t provide the fiber benefits of the solid forms) and you’ve got another reason to avoid these. Sushi is supposed to be a healthy food option that packs a protein punch in the process. Not so fast. In fact, with just a sliver of fish in every piece, you’re getting just 15% protein and instead packing in the starchy carbs with enough sticky rice to hold a small fort together! Add in the sodium IV drip you’re getting from your “low sodium” soy sauce and you’ve just made another perfect trap food. Opt for the sashimi instead and you’ll get what you thought you were getting when you iniitally decided on having sushi. There’s something about the word granola that just sounds so healthy. Maybe it’s that it sounds like the word grain? Whatever the case, you can’t ignore the fact that this is made up of calorically dense ingredients that just won’t play well in an attempt to lose fat. If you don’t make it yourself then you’re going to be guaranteeing yourself a ton of sugar and syrup as well, as both are needed to hold all of this “goodness” together. There are more trap foods not covered here in the description but you will find in this video. You want to be sure if you are not avoiding them all together that you are at least educated about their pitfalls so you can limit them in your diet when you are trying to get and stay lean. If you are looking for a complete meal plan to help you get ripped and stay ripped step by step, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. In order to eat less, most think prohibitively: “I’m allowed these, but not those” or “I mustn’t eat any more.” This can create a disastrous relationship with food; perhaps complying initially, only to rebel later. Instead of obeying rules, what works is a strong sense of freedom… then making choices. Gillian Riley is an author whose work focuses on the mindset behind overeating. She teaches techniques that break patterns of eating behavior, delivering control that lasts. Weight loss, when appropriate, is one of many benefits. Motivated by the effectiveness of this approach, she’s inspired by the practical application of the theory into the everyday lives of those who struggle with food. Based in Leicestershire, she has a worldwide clientele. Gillian has been delivering her EATING LESS seminars in London since 1997, and is currently creating an online version. Her books, EATING LESS, DITCHING DIETS and WILLPOWER are steady bestsellers This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Big Macs, McNuggets, Fries. Everyone knows these McDonald's menu items. Unfortunately, these aren't their healthiest options. Maybe that's not a huge surprise, but what are the healthiest things you can get at McDonald's? We asked Samantha Pyser, a registered dietitian, for her thoughts. Let's start with breakfast. With its high-calorie count and sodium content, you should probably avoid a breakfast sandwich like the Sausage, Egg & Cheese McGriddle. Instead, try the Fruit and Maple Oatmeal w/o Brown Sugar. Or, go for the Fruit 'N Yogurt Parfait. The USDA suggests adults who are "moderately active" consume 2,000-2,800 calories a day. It's also recommended to eat less than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day. That means eating just one Sausage, Egg & Cheese McGriddle accounts for more than half of your recommended sodium intake. Too much sodium consumption can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, or other serious medical conditions. Moving on to lunch...McDonald's is world famous for its Big Mac. "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun." But all those ingredients add up. Instead, try the Filet-O-Fish. Or, if you're in the mood for a burger, get the plain Hamburger. Adding a slice of cheese raises the sodium content, but it's still manageable. If you're adding to your meal, you should probably skip the fries. Instead, go for the Apple Slices. Or, opt for the Side Salad. 21 healthier food choices. Eating healthy is one of the most common struggles that people have. It can be difficult to always make sure you are making the right choices and to combat cravings. Education about food and nutrition is the biggest combatant in the fight for healthy eating. Today, we're going to do just that: educate you about food and nutrition, then tell you about some of the food swaps you can make in order to have a healthier lifestyle! #HealthyFood #HealthySnacks #Food Timestamps: Food Switch Number 1.Lettuce Buns : 1:17 Food Switch Number 2. Avocado Spread : 1:30 Food Switch Number 3. Greek Yogurt : 1:54 Food Switch Number 4. Cauliflower : 2:05 Food Switch Number 5. Pancakes and Replacing Maple Syrup : 2:41 Food Switch Number 6. Lean Meats : 7:32 Food Switch Number 21. Black Coffee : 7:55 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Summary: Food Switch Number 1.Lettuce Buns. This one is perfect for anyone that loves a good taco, wrap, or burger. Use lettuce leaves to hold everything in place instead of bread. Lettuce leaves actually make the perfect tortilla bowl. Food Switch Number 2. Avocado Spread. This one is a game changer. If you are someone who loves mayo, swap it out for some avocado. It’s smooth, creamy, super healthy for you, and you will get addicted. We promise. Another thing to use instead of mayonnaise is mustard. While mayo is packed full of unhealthy fats, mustard is naturally fat free! Food Switch Number 3. Greek Yogurt. Next time you’re baking something, leave out the oil and put in some delicious and healthy Greek yogurt. It will up the protein content of your baked goods as well. Food Switch Number 4. Cauliflower. If you must have rice, then always choose brown over white. WOMEN'S HEALTH MAGAZINE reports that: "White rice is stripped of any essential nutrients (like fiber)". However, there's another option that's even better for you: Cauliflower rice! Cauliflower rice is a great substitute for, you guessed it, rice! Use it in any dish as you would normally use rice and feel good about your meal. Food Switch Number 5. Pancakes and Replacing Maple Syrup. This one is easy. When you're eating your next breakfast and you’re making pancakes, don’t use the store bought or white flour. Buy some whole wheat flour and you’re set. Or if you really want to try something adventurous, try a Paleo banana pancake. Food Switch Number 6. Mushrooms. If you feel like lettuce as a burger bun is not your thing, there is yet another healthy option. Try a nice portobello mushroom as an alternative. Food Switch Number 7. Spaghetti And Other Pasta. When you're choosing a pasta, make sure that it's whole wheat. Unlike regular pasta, whole-wheat pasta has a nutty flavor that’s filled with antioxidants and fiber. Also, we recommend that you search the web and buy yourself a zoodler. What is this magic appliance? Well, you can use it to make zucchini and eggplant spaghetti to replace starchy pasta. Food Switch Number 8. Apple Sauce. Leave out excess sugar from your baking and instead use some delicious apple sauce for sweetness. Food Switch Number 9. Broccoli. Who doesn’t love tater tots? Besides their cute name, they’re small fried potatoes that are equivalent to heaven. But since we’re doing healthy swaps here, try some cute broccoli tots that are just as yummy and ten times healthier. Food Switch Number 10. Yeast. Nutritional yeast has a gross sounding name, in fact, you could say that yeast is the thing you want to eat the least (ba dum, tss). No? Alright, moving on. Food Switch Number 11. Tea. Are sugary juices and soda pops a big staple in your diet? Make a big batch of some delicious fruit tea with some honey, or whatever flavor you like, and stick it in the fridge. Delicious and nutritious! Food Switch Number 12. Milk. Replace your cows milk with some delicious almond or soy milk. Homemade almond milk is also an option to police the ingredients you consume. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Bestie : https://goo.gl/tUqro6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestieinc/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The French eat long and well. They have some positive eating habits that everyone could learn from. They eat high quality ingredients, not processed ones and their ingredients tend to be far less processed than in the United States. Having small amounts of high quality food including meat, vegetables and fruits, cheese, and even sweets. Meals are not only more nutritious than their fast food counterparts, but the food tastes exponentially better. Another French lesson when it comes to healthy eating is that French don't eat food on the go. Sit down breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are totally ingrained in the French culture. Family meals, usually on Sundays, start with an appetizer, a main dish, followed by a selection of cheeses with a green salad, before moving on to desserts and finishing the whole thing with coffee. It may sound like a lot but the portions are smaller...Food is made to be savoured and it's also made to be eaten at the table. Unfortunately, as the gentleman at 4:19 is expressing, certain food such as seafood has become unaffordable to the younger generation who earn less. It is very true that globalisation has led to a change in food options in France. Fast food chains have been springing up around France in the past few decades and they became the choice of food for those who can't afford to cook a meal at home and have to rely on lower quality food at lower prices. Raising awareness about raising blood sugar. Diet concerns are one of the first topics a diabetes educator will address. "Look at how many foods we have you know, look down the aisles at the grocery store. It's overwhelming the number of food items," says Sharon Tilbe, a certified diabetes coordinator with Lee Memorial Health System. To help patients with diabetes make good choices, Lee Heal Solutions offers medical nutrition therapy. It consists of one-on-one time with a dietician. "We teach a little bit of carbohydrate counting whether its real specific carbohydrate counting or generalities of carbohydrate counting. Making sure that people get adequate whole grains, adequate fruit and dairy in their diet, but not too much to raise their blood sugar," says Sharon. Common everyday foods, even ones we don't suspect, can cause a jump in blood sugar. "Fruit as an example, would be considered a carbohydrate or a high carbohydrate food in that it has a lot of natural sugar. Milk we don't think of milk as being a sugar food but of course milk has lactose, which will of course turn into blood glucose. Grains, most people understand that if we eat too much pasta too much rice the blood sugar goes up," says Sharon. All things in moderation is a good rule of thumb, a controlling diet can make an absolute difference in managing diabetes. "Just before you came I took my blood sugar and it was 92, so below 100 is average for regular people," says George Pickel. George worked with a diabetes educator to turn his diet around and with it the course of his disease. "Most people, diets are started and when the goal is achieved people stop the diet. They better realize that eating is a lifelong process," says George. It's a healthy perspective, looking at diabetes as a lifelong journey. Several studies have shown that while cooking can degrade some nutrients, it can enhance the availability of others. As a result, no single cooking or preparation method is superior for preserving 100 percent of the nutrients in a vegetable, and that includes eating vegetables raw. Boiling has been found to be better for carrots, zucchini and broccoli, than steaming, frying or serving them raw. Since the best vegetables are the ones you will actually eat, taste should be the defining factor when you decide on a cooking method. The best way to get the most out of your vegetables is to enjoy them a variety of ways -- raw, steamed, boiled, baked and grilled. If you eat a variety of fruits and vegetables on a regular basis, you don't have to worry about the cooking method. ------------------ If you would like some information on our private nutritional coaching, shoot me an email at [email protected]!
