The Gaidar Forum 2019. HOW TO PAINLESSLY CANCEL FOREIGN EXCHANGE REGULATION?

01:32:51
Expert Discussion At present, Russia still has the requirements of currency legislation which create barriers to the implementation of foreign exchange transactions and significantly hamper normal economic activities of currency residents - Russian companies and citizens. Therewith, foreign exchange regulation can solve tax problems rather than macroeconomic ones, and it aims to counter money laundering in international trade. The discussion will focus on proposals on foreign exchange regulation reform, the cancellation of outdated restrictions and transition to alternative control of cash flows instruments. Issues for Discussion: The objectives of the existing currency exchange legislation The requirement of repatriation as a restriction for business; The effectiveness of restrictions on foreign accounts for currency residents; The prospects for the automatic exchange of information on foreign accounts; The macroeconomic objectives of exchange controls; The adjustment of the notion of currency residency; The improvement of tax administration tools; The improvement of the efficiency of countering money laundering. Moderator: Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev, Rector, Russian Foreign Trade Academy Keynote report: Antonina Levashenko, Head, Russian Center For Competences and Analysis of OECD Standards, RANEPA Participants: Vladimir Chikin, Partner, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (Russia) Filip Kerf, Head, Division of International Cooperation and Tax Administration, OECD Ivan Khamenushko, Senior Partner, Pepeliaev Group Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Head, Federal Tax Service Pavel Trunin, Senior Research Fellow, Center of Macroeconomic Research, RANEPA Sergey Voznesensky, Deputy Director, State Regulation of Precious Metals, Precious Stones and Currency Control of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Ilya Yasinsky, Deputy Director, Department of Financial Monitoring and Currency Control, Bank of Russia

Money and Finance: Crash Course Economics #11

10:36
So, we've been putting off a kind of basic question here. What is money? What is currency? How are the two different. Well, not to give away too much, but money has a few basic functions. It acts as a store of value, a medium of exchange, and as a unit of account. Money isn't just bills and coins. It can be anything that meets these three criteria. In US prisons, apparently, pouches of Mackerel are currency. Yes, mackerel the fish. Paper and coins work as money because they're backed by the government, which is an advantage over mackerel. So, once you've got money, you need finance. We'll talk about borrowing, lending, interest, and stocks and bonds. Also, this episode features a giant zucchini, which Adriene grew in her garden. So that's cool. Number Of Foreign Exchange Students Coming To The US Declines

00:33
International students coming to U.S. colleges and universities has fallen for a second year in a row. This comes amid efforts by the Trump administration to tighten restrictions on foreigners studying in the U.S. The Institute of International Education reported new enrollments for the 2017-2018 school year fell 6.6. Percent Some factors that could cause this decrease are visa and immigration policies changes by Trump… U.S. colleges being more expensive and headlines about an increase in mass shootings. http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/Reuters/domesticNews/~3/PUY8LWUyJHY/fewer-foreign-students-coming-to-united-states-for-second-year-in-row-survey-idUSKCN1NI0EN http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Friday Forex Traders Money Market Update. 17th May 2019

09:11
The official unemployment rate in Australia jumped to 5.2% from 5% when the official jobs figures were released on Thursday. Although there were 28,000 jobs created in the month of April the uptick in the official unemployment rate was enough for traders to sell down the local currency which appears to be in a consistent free fall at present. Strength in the US Dollar through the European and US trading sessions only accelerated the declines and at the current rate of decline the AUD v USD could be below 0.68c by the end of June. Trade tensions between the US and China support the US Dollar. It’s no surprise that the US Dollar is rallying as the trade dispute heats up between the US and China. This is exactly the way price reacted some months ago when the Trump administration first announced the increase in trade tariffs. The Chinese are clearly in the weaker bargaining position and the US wields the bigger stick and if it wants to get tougher it’s only going to make things worse economically for the Chinese. There have been comments about China selling down its trillion US Dollars’ worth of US Treasuries but that would be a complete disaster for China and whilst it may help drive up US interest rates it would sink the Chinese currency and only weaken a slowing economy even further. Trump knows the US economy is running hot and he’s going to use the leverage the US has to push China as far as he can to get the best deal for the USA. The only thing that may go against Trump is a weakening economy in 2020 as a result of the hard-line stand he is taking now on China. But love him or hate him, he backs himself, he backs the USA and he is prepared to go for it. The US is the most resilient economy in the world and you’d be a fool to back against it. https://www.ltggoldrock.com/ #investing #wealth #finance #makemoney #livewell #trading #trader #fxtrading #forex #forextrading #forexsignals #currencytrader #health #lifestyle #dreamjob #motivation #selfmade #profit #sunrise #healthy #noosa #disciplineequalsfreedom

David Enders on Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria

Learn more: http://pulitzercenter.org/projects/middle-east/iraq-death-nation-revisited Just back from Iraq, David describes a stagnating, often deteriorating security situation, a central government unable to provide basic services to Iraqi citizens, and the rise of militias as the real authority in many areas. The interview is a sobering counterpoint to recent official reports from the region and is, in our view, essential viewing as the Bush administration presents its much-touted "progress report" on Iraq. STOCKS THAT WILL DOUBLE YOUR MONEY! (Value Investing)

11:49
Why Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Stocks Are Potential 10-Baggers, 10x, or 10 times your money Is the upside in FNMA and FMCC gigantic? During the mortgage crisis, Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (FMCC) had to be bailed out by the government or so we were told. The U.S. government dumped $187 billion into the agencies. In exchange, it was given warrants to buy 79% of the companies, and the investment (which was in preferred stock) would earn 10% of the agencies’ net profits each quarter. Then the Treasury Department, in an arguably illegal and unconstitutional move, changed the rules so it would sweep out all the net profits of the agencies. The idea was that since FNMA and FMCC as companies were in a death spiral, or so it appeared, and the thinking by the Treasury Department was protecting taxpayer money by taking all the profits and making sure it didn’t have to throw new capital at another bailout. At least, that was the idea. Instead, to the surprise of no one considering this was a move by the government, it actually puts FNMA and FMCC in worse shape since they are being stripped of their capital. The result is FNMA and FMCC are now backstopping some $5 trillion in mortgage debt and have no capital. Moreover, while FNMA and FMCC are controlled by the government, it is actually via a conservatorship which is only supposed to last until the companies are in “sound and solvent condition.” Investors are arguing that FNMA/FMCC have not only repaid taxpayers, but the two companies were stolen from investors. Various lawsuits addressing one of the largest cases of thievery in the United States history have challenged this have been shot down so far, but investors remain hopeful. Not only are FNMA/FMCC profitable now, but they are turning a large profit. U.S. taxpayers have now received back over $260 billion on the $187 billion investment — a $73 billion profit, or 40%. Remember that the companies were only supposed to be in government conservatorship until they achieved “sound and solvent condition.” What many are pushing for, including hedge fund managers Bill Ackman and Bruce Berkowitz, is for the government to recapitalize FNMA and FMCC. Let the companies do their jobs again, with proper reform. Ackman’s proposal to reform FNMA and FMCC suggests possibly future value for them between $23 and $47 per share. And now, there is finally serious talk of reform going on in Congress. Senators Corker and Warner have a proposal that would keep Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but create competitors, as well as create an explicit guarantee from the government on mortgage bonds that are created under reform. Congressman Hensarling indicated he’d be open to a government guarantee on some mortgage bonds but didn’t want it to be terribly large. New competitors would have to have stress tests and sell off some of the risks to private investors. What are the potential outcomes for FNMA stock and FMCC stock? Steve Mnuchin the United States treasury secretary believes FNMA/FMCC are a 2019 story. Steve Mnuchin has already stated he wants to take FNMA/FMCC out of conservatorship. Yes common shareholders could be wiped out because there are preferred shareholders ahead of them. There is a possibility for the shares to go to zero, BUT we aren’t talking about betting the farm here. When the numbers are broken down the United States stole Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac a private company FROM shareholders who still haven’t received compensation. Taxpayers have already turned a massive profit on the bail out by the U.S. government that many argue was unnecessary in the first place. As the clock continues ticking I believe we are getting close to a resolution one way or the other. It’s all or nothing with an investment in FNMA/FMCC and I view the two stocks as options contracts that are skewed in our favor. The only difference is we aren’t paying a huge time premium. Throwing even a couple hundred dollars into these companies and forgetting about it may well be worth the risk because they may potentially be 10 baggers. President Donald Trump said freeing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from government control is a “pretty urgent problem” that his administration plans to work with Congress to address. Trump, speaking Friday at a conference hosted by the National Association of Realtors, said that the mortgage giants lack competition, that taxpayers remain on the hook for any losses at the companies and that they aren’t being run as well as they could be. He added that his administration is discussing ideas for fixing Fannie and Freddie with “some incredible talent from Wall Street.” Best Growth Stocks 2019. Best Growth Stocks 2019. Administration of GST | Chapter-4 | B.com 5TH Sem. | Punjab, punjabi and GNDU University | In Hindi

Today;s Topic is :- Administration of GST | Chapter-4 | B.com 5TH Sem. | Punjab, punjabi and GNDU University | In Hindi ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matrices and determinant :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNH9XsVMGrI&list=PLGeio_2Vs0yg3kpGzkCsqaBASuNBa477b ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCTION OF GST :- PART 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86rs5viTGXc MODEL OF GST - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nviTVBJX4rs QUICK REVISION OF COMPANY LAW - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g44I6QebHOc Introduction to GST, India GST- Key Highlights Example of GST Implementation of GST Benefits of GST Impact of GST on Sector/Industry Currently, the Indirect tax structure in India comprises of several taxes and thus necessitates a number of compliances. We would first analyse in a capsule form the major Central and the State laws under the present tax regime: Entry 83 of Seventh schedule confers the power to Central Government to levy Custom duty (Basic duty + countervailing duty + Special Additional duty) on “Import of goods” in Indian Territory. Exports are presently exempted from all the duties to promote foreign exchange earnings and to make locally produced goods competitive in the export market. Under the Constitution, Entry 84 of List I of Seventh schedule authorises the levy of Central Excise duty on “Manufacturing activities”. The activities deemed to be manufacture also attract the Central Excise levy in view of residual Entry 97 of Union List. The levy of Service tax is imposed in exercise of the power conferred by Entry 97 of Union List of the Seventh schedule of Constitution, which is a residuary power. Sec 66B of Finance Act, 1994 accedes levy of service tax on all services except for those forming part of Negative list or specifically excluded by any exemption notification. Central Sales Tax (CST) is imposed on sale or purchase of goods (other than newspapers) occurring in the course of inter-state trade or commerce vide powers granted by Entry 92A of List I of Seventh schedule. No credit is available of CST paid on inter-state purchases. Value added tax (VAT) is imposed on all intra-state sale or purchase of goods. VAT laws are different in different states leading to voluminous compliance and procedural requirements for the taxpayer. The introduction of GST would mark a clear departure from the scheme of distribution of fiscal powers envisaged in the Constitution. Goods & Service tax (GST) is the most talked about topic in the field of indirect taxation today in India. It will be a game changing reform for Indian economy by developing a common Indian market and reducing the cascading effect of tax on the cost of goods and services. It will impact the Tax Structure, Tax Incidence, Tax Computation, Tax Payment, Compliance, Credit Utilization and Reporting leading to a complete overhaul of the current indirect tax system. GST will simplify and harmonise the indirect tax regime in the country. It is expected to reduce cost of production and inflation in the economy, thereby making the Indian trade and industry more competitive, domestically as well as internationally. It is also expected that introduction of GST will foster a common or seamless Indian market and contribute significantly to the growth of the economy. A MIX OF ORIGIN BASED AND DESTINATION BASED TAXATION GST is a consumption based tax. This implies that all SGST collected will ordinarily accrue to the State where the consumer of the goods or services sold resides. On the other side, revenue from proposed levy of Additional tax on inter-state supply of goods @ 1% will be assigned to States from where supply originates (exporting state). For this purpose, Point of Origin Rules are also proposed to be framed. Hence, it will make GST law partly origin based and partly destination based. TYPES OF GST RATE GST rate can be categorized in the following manner: 1) Central Goods & Service Tax (CGST) and State Goods and Service Tax (SGST) If goods or services or both are supplied in course of intra-state trade or commerce, on invoice CGST and SGST would be levied. Net proceeds from CGST will go to Centre and will be distributed between Union and States. And, net proceeds from SGST will be retained by States. China's Bond Market to Further Open Up to Outside World: Officials

02:26
China's bond market will further open up to the outside world, said officials on Friday in Beijing. Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor of the People's Bank of China, and Pan Gongsheng, Deputy Governor of the bank and head of Chinese State Administration of Foreign Exchange, made the remarks in response to a question about the opening up of China's bond market at a press conference on financial reform and development on the sidelines of the annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. "Opening up is always a part of China's bond market work, and there is no any out-of-the-way move in any year. The improvement last year is that the internationalization of the RMB was further promoted and the RMB was put in the special drawing rights of the International Monetary Fund, all of which are in favor of promoting foreign investors' interest and enthusiasm in China's bond market. We have put forward some relevant policies, but not any out-of-the-way policies. China never intends to seek that the RMB bonds can be registered in a certain bond index, but we will advance in this direction. We will make more obvious progress in the opening up gradually," said Zhou. To echo Zhou, Pan mentioned some improvements in China's bond market opening up work last year. "Many international financial organizations, foreign governments, well-known international financial institutions and enterprises have issued bonds in China's bond market so far. By the end of last year, panda bonds was issued worth over 60 billion yuan. The World Bank also issued SDR bonds in China. Over 400 overseas investors have invested about 800 billion yuan in China's bond market. The number of overseas investors increased by more than 100 last year, and the investment amount increased by 150 billion yuan. In addition, we can see that on March 1, Bloomberg has issued two new indexes, and China's bond market has been registered in them. Citigroup also announced several days ago that it planned to place China's bond market into three indexes," said Pan. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170310/8045013.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

Iran’s Zarif grabs #MSC2019 spotlight, slams Trump and Israel (Munich Security Conference)

37:22
The United States and Israel are trying desperately to isolate Iran, but once again Iranian's Foreign Affairs minister Mohammad Javad Zarif showed utterly unbowed. Today Javad Zarif seized the stage at "Munich Security Conference", the world's premier security conference. Zarif held the audience of power-brokers rapt for nearly 40 minutes as he thrashed the Trump administration, fired a pointed demand at Europe to do more to protect their nuclear deal, and generally painted a portrait of Tehran's worldview that at times drew chuckles for defying reality. Zarif's presentation comes three days after senior Trump administration officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, convened a global conference about the Middle East in Warsaw, where they had sought to rally international sentiment against Iran. Iran's Foreign Minister also pointed to Trump's support of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Zarif's immediate and aggressive replies in the question-and-answer session, after his speech, were the "ice on the cake" of what quickly became the most talked-about presentation at this 2019 Munich Security Conference. This video has Zarif's entire speech and Q&A session. Credit: Bayerischer Rundfunk 2019

Talking Points: • Historically, the US has held a 'strong dollar' policy, but the Trump administration has shown willingness to break convention • Trade wars are being pursued to force trade negotiations, yet the lack of intended impact raises risk of the more extreme • Selling the dollar would have complicated results that would likely incur a permanent discount for the Greenback What makes for a 'great' trader? London Should Love its Bankers

Want to join the debate? Check out the Intelligence Squared website to hear about future live events and podcasts: http://www.intelligencesquared.com __________________________ This debate took place in the Royal Geographical Society on 9 October 2012. For more Intelligence Squared events, visit http://www.intelligencesquared.com Do the British have a death wish? You'd be forgiven for thinking so the way so many of them seem to want to cripple the most dynamic part of their own economy. What is the world's largest market for dollars? London. Where does the Chinese State Administration of Foreign Exchange go when it wants to buy or sell billions of US Treasury bonds? London. Which sector of the economy delivers £12 out of every £100 in tax to the Chancellor of the Exchequer? London's financial centre. Its accumulated skills, its light touch regulation, its openness to competition -- these have made London the envy of the world, the magnet for all the smartest financiers: they have turned London into the most exciting city to live in on the planet. Of course there have been scandals -- what do you expect in the world's most competitive market place? Yet instead of lauding London's banks for their achievement in outclassing all their rivals, we seem interested only in penalising them and letting New York or Frankfurt steal the show. Stop it. Learn to love London's bankers. That's the line being sold by those who love the City. But when you start allocating blame for the financial crisis, when you think that it was deals done in London that led to the downfall of Lehman Brothers, AIG and Bear Stearns; when you consider the bonus culture, the Libor scandal, the money-laundering of Mexican drug money -- can you really buy it?

TSMC Chairman Morris Chang calls on administration to let market drive innovation

01:47
Morris Chang, the chairman of the world''s largest contract chipmaker, TSMC, has called on the Tsai administration to allow the market, rather than the government, to drive innovation. At an industry lecture on innovation, Chang went on to call on the government to improve Taiwan''s business environment by streamlining regulations and improving infrastructure. Having been invited to lecture about innovation, TSMC Chairman Morris Chang spoke frankly of the need to strengthen the domestic business environment. Morris Chang TSMC Chairman I think water, power, and environmental impact assessments are barriers to manufacturers, and they need to be addressed. Aside from that, I actually don''t think there''s much the government can do. Chang also spoke out on behalf of the financial services sector, saying existing laws were impeding investment. When it came to the government''s claim that boosting innovation requires economic restructuring, Chang disagreed. Morris Chang TSMC Chairman You can''t rush innovation. Innovation doesn''t happen when the government says, "I want you to innovate, I want you to restructure." That won''t lead to innovation. Innovation relies on market mechanisms. The recent appreciation of the Taiwan dollar has also taken a significant toll on the domestic tech sector. Asked what TSMC was doing to mitigate exchange rate issues, Chang seemed at a loss.Morris Chang TSMC Chairman I think the rise of the NT dollar is of course bad for exporters, but the only thing to do is to endure. There''s no way around it.In TSMC''s first-quarter results released last week, revenues were slightly lower than expected, and net profit was down 12.5 percent from the previous quarter, mainly due to foreign exchange losses.
Iran's Zarif thrashes Trump, "US driven by pathological obsession" (Munich Security Conference 2019)

22:24
Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif is blasting the United States’ “unhealthy fixation” with his country and condemning the Trump administration’s efforts to press European countries to pull out of the nuclear agreement with Tehran. Mohammad Javad Zarif addressed the Munich Security Conference on Sunday, a day after U.S. Vice President Mike Pence prodded European powers Germany, France and Britain to follow Washington in withdrawing from the deal and to “stop undermining U.S. sanctions.” The U.S. withdrew unilaterally last year from the 2015 agreement, which offers Iran sanctions relief for limiting its nuclear program. Zarif says “we have long been the target of an unhealthy fixation, let’s say obsession” from the U.S. He said Pence “arrogantly demanded that Europe must join the United States in undermining its own security and breaking its obligations.” #MSC2019 #MunichSecurityConference #JavadZarif #POTUS #DonaldTrump

Will Trump Start a War with Iran?

10:57
"Let me be as clear as I can be: a war with Iran would be an absolute disaster," said Sanders in the roughly six-minute speech. "Sixteen years ago, the United States committed one of the worst foreign policy blunders in the history of our country by attacking Iraq. That war was sold to the American people based on a series of lies about weapons of mass destruction. We should remember that one of the leading advocates for that war was John Bolton." Sanders declaration against a possible war comes amid increasing concerns, as Common Dreams has reported, that Bolton—Trump's national security advisor—is leading the administration's underhanded attempt to provoke or manufacture a military confrontation with Iran. __ Check out our delicious Patreon for more! https://www.patreon.com/DFFPodcast __ Behold, social media links!
