DAG failover Scenario - Mailscape - Exchange Server Monitoring Software

02:44
In this scenario, the DAG has had a switch over or fail over and the database is now on the wrong node. A DAG failover can cause performance issues especially in virtualized environments where one physical server is hosting several databases and there may not be sufficient CPU ram and other resources to run multiple active databases for extended periods of time. In this demonstration we will look at how Mailscape proactively tests every component of a DAG, or Database Available Group, in Exchange 2010 and 2013 to make sure they are functioning properly. A DAG failover does not always indicate a serious problem in and of itself, but it is one that you want to know about ASAP so you can deal with it and make sure it does not become a much bigger problem leading to an outage. From this training session you can understand,"How to install Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008?". In this training session,I am going to install Exchange 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2008. Before proceeding with the Exchange Server installation, first you have to prepare your Windows Server 2008 for Exchange 2007. The tools we require for Exchange Server Installation are, .Net Framework v2.0 or 3.0 PowerShell RTM MMC 3.0 IIS 7 In order to install the required tools you have to run the following commands one after the other at the command prompt: ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS ServerManagerCmd -i PowerShell ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Server ServerManagerCmd -i Web-ISAPI-Ext ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Metabase ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Basic-Auth ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Digest-Auth ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Windows-Auth ServerManagerCmd -i Web-Dyn-Compression After executing the first command(ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS), you have to reboot your computer. Then, after the reboot, I use a simple batch file to run the other commands in sequence. You can see the part of the output from the command prompt. Finally, the required tools for your Exchange 2007 are installed. Now, its the time to install Exchange Server. Start setup and press Install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP1 . Here, you can go through the information about Exchange Server 2007. Now read the license agreement and accept its terms for get going with the installation. In the "Error Reporting" scheme, you have to choose whether you wish to automatically send error reporting information to Microsoft and select your option. Here,I select the option "yes" . Now you have to decide the type of your Exchange Server installation. Here,I select "Typical Exchange Server Installation". Specify the name of your Exchange Organization.I specify my Exchange Organization name as "FirstOrganizationJiJi". Client Settings requires a public folder to connect the Exchange 2007 to clients running Outlook2003 or earlier versions. You can choose whether to create a public folder database for clients running Outlook 2003 and earlier or Entourage,by selecting "Yes" or "No".Since, I do not have clients running Outlook2003 or earlier, I select "No". Now the "Readiness Checks" is in progress, which checks whether the server meets all the requirements for each Exchange role being installed. As long as the checks complete successfully, you can press "Install" to perform the installation of Exchange Server 2007. You can see the progress of the installation of each Exchange component being installed. Typically the time required for the installation will be 30 minutes to an hour depending on the speed of your computer and the components installed. Now the Exchange 2007 setup is completed. Once setup completes, you will have a working Exchange 2007 SP1 installed on your Windows Server 2008. Now you can view your Exchange Management Console. Exchange 2010 - Protection Using Double-Take Availability Virtual Recovery Assistant

13:40
Evaluate Double-Take for yourself. Visit www.cloudreadysolutions.com.au to request an evaluation. Double-Take Availability can protect multiple production servers, either Physical or Virtual, by replicating the entire server in real-time to auto-provisioned Virtual Machines on either VMWare ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V. This method is called "Virtual Recovery Assistant" or VRA. When using a Hyper-V Virtual Machine to protect a production workload, it is possible to install Double-Take on the Hyper-V host and replicate directly to the Microsoft Hypervisor. When using VMware ESX, it is necessary to deploy a Windows Guest Virtual Machine in order to host the Double-Take Service. This Video shows the process of protecting an Exchange 2010 server (running on Hyper-V, though it could be running on any platform), being protected to a Virtual Machine running on VMWare ESX. The Video demonstrates how "Test Failover" can be carried out and how Auto-matic failover can bring the Exchange Server back online, as an ESX Virtual Machine in just minutes whilst ensuring no data loss.
