Designing Dynamic SSRS Reports using an Analysis Services Data Source
Check Out Our SSRS Blog - http://blog.pragmaticworks.com/topic/ssrs Creating Reporting Services reports that use Analysis Services as a data source can frustrating. You designed a cube so it can be more flexible for users but Reporting Services is static by nature. This session will walk you through building dynamic datasets that will allow users to change the fields represented in a SSRS report. No longer will Reporting Services be a static reporting tool because your users will have the flexibility to change report metadata dynamically using parameters and Dynamic Management Views (DMV).

Business Data Analysis with Excel
Lecture Starts at: 8:25 Business data presents a challenge for the data analyst. Business data is often aggregated, recorded over time, and tends to exhibit autocorrelation. Additionally, and most problematically, the amount of business data is usually quite limited. These characteristics lead to a situation where many of the tools in the analyst's tool belt (e.g., regression) aren't ideal for the task. Despite these challenges, proper analysis of business data represents a fundamental skill required of Business/Data Analysts, Product/Program Managers, and Data Scientists. At this meetup presenter Dave Langer will show how to get started analyzing business data in a robust way using Excel – no programming or statistics required! Dave will cover the following during the presentation: • The types of business data and why business data is a unique analytical challenge. • Requirements for robust business data analysis. • Using histograms, running records, and process behavior charts to analyze business data. • The rules of trend analysis. • How to properly compare business data across time, organizations, geographies, etc.Where you can learn more about the tools and techniques. *Excel spreadsheets can be found here: https://code.datasciencedojo.com/datasciencedojo/tutorials/tree/master/Business%20Data%20Analysis%20with%20Excel **Find out more about David here: https://www.meetup.com/data-science-dojo/events/236198327/ -- Learn more about Data Science Dojo here: https://hubs.ly/H0f8xWx0 See what our past attendees are saying here: https://hubs.ly/H0f8xGd0 -- Like Us: https://www.facebook.com/datasciencedojo/ Follow Us: https://plus.google.com/+Datasciencedojo Connect with Us: https://www.linkedin.com/company/data-science-dojo Also find us on: Google +: https://plus.google.com/+Datasciencedojo Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/data_science_dojo/ Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/datasciencedojo

Full Service ACA Filing (ACA Reporting Services) by Passport Software, Inc. - 847-729-7900
In addition to our ACA software solution, Passport also provides quick and easy Full Service ACA Filing (ACA Reporting Services) for businesses. Just provide a spreadsheet of employee information – and we do the rest. https://pass-port.com/aca-reporting-services/ 847-729-7900 "Thank you for watching this video on Passport Full Service ACA Management. My name is Adam, and I will begin with a quick background about our product. Our IRS-approved Affordable Care Act Management Software was created for 2015 first year reporting. It produces the 1995-Cs but also has the tools to monitor who is full-time or part-time, ensure that coverage is affordable, and analyze factors such as the safe harbors. Since 2015, we’ve helped hundreds of businesses and business groups successfully comply with the ACA, and we’ve electronically filed information returns on behalf of many of those. One thing we have found is that the clients’ knowledge and preparation levels vary widely, and that many businesses do not have the resources to dedicate to becoming experts on the ACA. And that’s where Passport’s Full-Service ACA Management comes in. We put all this knowledge together to offer as a service on a yearly basis. This package includes initial data entry and importation, consisting of setting up company information, importing employee information, importing payroll spreadsheet hours data, and generating employee ACA records to track offers and reporting of coverage. It also includes IRS tin matching to prevent errors where the employee’s name and social security number do not match the IRS database. It also includes digital pdf validation drafts, sending employee 1095-C copies to the employer for redistribution, electronic filing of the 1095-C and 1094-C with confirmation, and notification of errors if reported by the IRS. For many users, that’s all they’ll need, but others many have a lot of turnover or need to keep a close eye on those full-time/part-time identifications. Additional administrative services are available a la carte by purchasing support time. These include maintaining termination dates, adding new hires, maintenance for changing ACA offer codes and contribution amounts, corrections including data entry and new electronically filed corrections with confirmation, and periodic management reporting to the client. These are likely to be full-time/part-time status monitoring from our measurement period reports, but may also include insurance cost analysis or custom reports. If you’re curious about how we get your employee information into our system, we have spreadsheets which allow us to import data. The first is basic employee information – any payroll source ought to be able to export something comparable to this spreadsheet. And similarly, we have an hour’s history import. Again, fairly straightforward, and we can accommodate data whether it is in weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly formats. And finally, we need information on the offer codes and contribution amounts. Once all information is in the system, there are a number of management reports available. The most important of which are the measurement period reports. If you’re not familiar with the lookback method, that is how the IRS instructs you to measure hours and determine who is full-time, so you don’t have people enrolling then losing insurance every other month. This is the standard measurement report. It’s essentially three reports in one. The top portion is your active stability phase. It shows everyone’s current status as they are measured. The second section is the administrative phase, where you decide how employees will be classified during the coming stability phase. This only occurs one month each year, right before your insurance enrollment period. The final portion of the standard measurement report is the measurement phase. This shows how employees are trending, while there is still time to do something about it. I’ve already sorted the results of this report by average hours worked, which allows me to quickly narrow my focus to those borderline employees within 5 hours of the 130 hour per month full-time threshold. Here, you can see that we have several such cases, which I’ve highlighted in red. And that’s a quick view of just some of the capabilities of Passport Full-Service ACA Management. There’s nothing to learn, buy, install, update, or spend weeks entering data. Best of all, you have experienced experts just a call away. For more information, call Marti at 800-969-7900 ext. 103" Passport Software, Inc. 181 Waukegan Rd #200 Northfield, IL 60093 847-729-7900 https://pass-port.com
Analysis Services tutorial Creating OLAP cube Introduction to data warehouse
Pentaho is a powerful Business Intelligence Suite offering many features: reporting, OLAP pivot tables, dashboarding and more. Report Designer: An advanced report creation tool. If you want to build a complex data-driven report, this is the right tool to use. Report Designer offers far more flexibility and functionality than the ad hoc reporting capabilities of the Pentaho User Console. • Design Studio: An Eclipse-based tool that enables you to hand-edit a report or analysis view xaction file. Generally, people use Design Studio to add modifications to an existing report that cannot be added with Report Designer. • Aggregation Designer: A graphical tool that helps improve Mondrian cube efficiency. • Metadata Editor: Enables you to add a custom metadata layer to an existing data source. Usually you would do this for a data source that you intend to use for reporting; it's not required, but it makes it easier for business users to parse the database when building a query. • Pentaho Data Integration: The Kettle extract, transform, and load (ETL) tool, which enables you to access and prepare data sources for analysis, data mining, or reporting. This is generally where you will start if you want to prepare data for analysis. • Schema Workbench: A graphical tool that helps you create ROLAP schemas for analysis. This is a required step in preparing data for analysis.
