Create Amazing Select Boxes with Chosen in Drupal

04:28
By: Ivan Zugec http://webwash.net | http://twitter.com/webwashnet Modules: - Chosen (https://www.drupal.org/project/chosen) - Libraries API (https://drupal.org/project/libraries) Transcript: Chosen is a jQuery plugin that converts long select boxes into a more user friendly form element. The plugin adds auto-complete functionality to select boxes, and this makes it easier for users to navigate through long select lists. Go to the Chosen homepage to see it in action. In this video, we'll look at the Chosen Drupal module which integrates the jQuery plugin with Drupal. Before we begin, download the Chosen plugin directly from GitHub and extract the zip file into `sites/all/libraries`. Once the plugin has been extracted the path should be `sites/all/libraries/chosen`. Finally, download and install Chosen and Libraries API module. Chosen works pretty well out of the box. But let's head over to the configuration page, go to Configuration and Chosen. The most important field is the "Apply Chosen to the following elements". Here you can control which elements Chosen will be applied on. By default Chosen will be applied to all select elements. But if you want more control over which elements it's applied on, then use this field. As an example, let's now limit Chosen to a single select element. First change "Minimum number of options" to "aways apply" and click on "Save Configuration". Click on Content, and what we'll do is only apply Chosen to the "Update options" drop-down list. First, we need to inspect the element and get the ID. The ID for the element is "edit-operation". Head back to the Chosen configuration page and add "select#edit-operation" into the field and click on Save configuration. Now, if we go back to Content, Chosen has only be applied to the "Update options" drop-down list. That's how you limit Chosen to a specific element. Now let's head back to the Chosen configuration page. Before we continue add "select:visible" back in. The "Minimum number of options" select list is another to take note of. By default it's set to 20, what this means is that Chosen will only be applied to an element if it has 20 options or more. You can change it so that Chosen aways applies, or you can choose between 5 or 25. Next, you can change the minimum width of the widget. By default it's set to 200px. If you scroll down, you can change the way Chosen searches select options, and you can also change a few strings that are displayed by the element. Let's now apply Chosen to the Tags field on the Article content type. Go to Content, "Add content" and Article. You can see that the Tags field is a auto-complete widget, we first need to change it over to a select element for Chosen to work. Go to Structure, "Content types" and "manage fields", and click on Edit. Click on the "Widget type" tab and select "Select list" from the "Widget type" drop-down list and click on Continue. Now if we head back to the "Create article" page, Chosen should be applied onto the Tags field. You can select an option directly by clicking on the field or you can search options by typing.

Angular select options from array

Step 1 : Create the Department class. Add a TypeScript file to the models folder. Name it department.model.ts. Copy and paste the following code. Notice the Department class has 2 properties - id and name of the department. export class Department { id: number; name: string; } Step 2 : Import the Department class. Include the following import statement in create-employee.component.ts file import { Department } from '../models/department.model'; Step 3 : Include the following array of departments in CreateEmployeeComponent class in create-employee.component.ts file departments: Department[] = [ { id: 1, name: 'Help Desk' }, { id: 2, name: 'HR' }, { id: 3, name: 'IT' }, { id: 4, name: 'Payroll' } ]; Please note : The "Department" type is not required for the application to work, but it adds great value during development. Using it provides us intellisense, error checking and type saftey. For the HTML used in the video, please refer to my blog link below http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2018/01/angular-select-options-from-array.html Code explanation: 1. On the "option" element we are using ngFor structural directive to loop over the array of departments we have in the "departments" property of the component class 2. For each "Department" object in the "departments" array, we get an option. 3. The option value is the department id and the display text is the department name 4. Notice the square brackets around the [value] property. This is property binding in Angular. We discussed property binding in detail in Part 9 of Angular 2 tutorial. If you remove the square brackets the value for each option will be the literal text "dept.id" instead of the department id (1 or 2 or 3 etc.) Property binding in Angular https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGYfTx9AAQA&list=PL6n9fhu94yhWqGD8BuKuX-VTKqlNBj-m6&index=9 5. To display the deprtment name we are using interpolation. We discussed interpolation in Part 8 of Angular 2 tutorial. Interpolation in Angular https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FkkAqFWRk8&list=PL6n9fhu94yhWqGD8BuKuX-VTKqlNBj-m6&index=8 6. Since ngFor is a structural directive there is an asterisk before it. 7. Structural directives modify the DOM, i.e they add or remove the elements from DOM. Adding and removing elements from DOM is different from showing and hiding. We will discuss all these in detail in our upcoming videos. At this point, when we select a department, the respective department id is included in the Angular generated form model. Along the same lines, when we click the "Save" button the respective department id is logged to the console. Please note : It is important that we include the ngFor directive on the element that we want to be repeated. In our case we want an option element for each department we have in the array. So we included the ngFor directive on the option element. If we instead include the ngFor directive on the "div" element that has the bootstrap "form-group" class, we get 4 department dropdownlists. That is one for each department in the array. So it is important we include the ngFor directive on the right element.

Setting A New Default Channel On Sign In

02:37
Signing into YouTube is always done with the Google account. But when you have a Google+ Page associated with the Google account you are signing into you get to see the channel selector which is a pop-up titled "Use YouTube as..." and that can be annoying if you only really ever want to use YouTube with one YouTube channel which is either linked to your Google+ Profile or your Google+ Page. So now you can sign in, pick the one you want to use as default and then tick the box "Don't ask me again" which Google have added to the pop-up this month (June 2014). So- pick the channel/Google+ product combo you want to use as default, save your choice and then, the next time you sign in, you will automatically get signed into your chosen default YouTube channel/Google+ product combo. To change the default- follow the same steps to change. Ie sign in, switch account/channel and then go to YouTube settings / Advanced and tick the default channel box and save. ;)

How to Create a Static Frontpage in WordPress

05:22
Today we will be talking about how to create a static Front Page in WordPress. In order to demonstrate the static front page in this tutorial, we will be using the standard Twenty-Sixteen theme that comes with WordPress version 4.4. The static front page is often a simple decorative page that can introduce you to a company/person/theme based on a simple image. As per the title “static”, a static front page is one that normally does not change. Typically, this page is used as a title page introducing people to the website. In general, if you want to show content that continually changes, then you would not want to use a static front page. However, you can still spend the time on changing the static image if that is what you want to do. Log in to the WordPress Administrator Click on Appearance Click on Customize When you click on Customize, you will be brought to a preview of the site. Be aware that if you’re using a header image, then it may interfere with your static front page image. If necessary, you may need to remove your Header Image. To this, click on Header Image, then click on the Hide Image button. Once you have hidden the image, simply click on the arrow pointing to the left at the top of the page in order to return to the Customize menu. Click on Static Front Page By default, the setting will be set to “Your latest posts”. You can create a static front page and your posts page in the Twenty-sixteen theme. Click on the radial button labeled A static page. The options for the front pages will appear here. These options are based on Pages created within the WordPress Administrator Pages section. In order to create a new page, follow these directions: In the WordPress Administrator, Click on Pages to create or edit an existing Page. When you create the page, make sure that it is saved with a title that you can remember for the Static Front Page selection. Once you have created the page, return to the Customize menu and click on Static Front Page. You will then be able to select the page you created from the drop-down menu. When you have the option saved, click on the SAVE and PUBLISH button in order to make the page visible. Double-check your page by looking at your site’s front page. It studied the privacy settings of the firms and found a series of "dark patterns", including intrusive default settings and misleading wording. The firms gave users "an illusion of control", its report suggested. Both Google and Facebook said user privacy was important to them. The report - Deceived by Design - was based on user tests which took place in April and May, when all three firms were making changes to their privacy policies to be in compliance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Illusion It found examples of privacy-friendly choices being hidden away take-it-or-leave it choices privacy-intrusive defaults with a longer process for users who want privacy-friendly options some privacy settings being obscured pop-ups compelling users to make certain choices, while key information is omitted or downplayed no option to postpone decisions threats of loss of functionality or deletion of the user account if certain settings not chosen For example, Facebook warns anyone who wishes to disable facial recognition that doing so means that the firm "won't be able to use this technology if a stranger uses your photo to impersonate you". The report concluded that users are often given the illusion of control through their privacy settings, when they are not getting it. "Facebook gives the user an impression of control over use of third party data to show ads, while it turns out that the control is much more limited than it initially appears," the report said. "And Google's privacy dashboard promises to let the user easily delete data, but the dashboard turns out to be difficult to navigate, more resembling a maze than a tool for user control," it added. Microsoft received praise for giving equal weight to privacy-friendly and unfriendly options in its set-up process in Windows 10. The consumer watchdog concluded: "The combination of privacy-intrusive defaults and the use of dark patterns nudge users of Facebook and Google, and to a lesser degree Windows 10, towards the least privacy-friendly options to a degree that we consider unethical. "We question whether this is in accordance with the principles of data protection by default and data protection by design, and if consent given under these circumstances can be said to be explicit, informed and freely given."

Part 35 How to set an item selected when an asp net mvc dropdownlist is loaded

Please watch Part 34 before proceeding. To have the "IT" department selected, when the departments are loaded from tblDepartment table, use the following overloaded constructor of "SelectList" class. Notice that we are passing a value of "1" for "selectedValue" parameter. ViewBag.Departments = new SelectList(db.Departments, "Id", "Name", "1"); If you run the application at this point, "IT" department will be selected, when the dropdownlist is rendered. The downside of hardcoding the "selectedValue" in code is that, application code needs to be modified, if we want "HR" department to be selected instead of "IT". Let's now discuss, the steps required to drive the selection of an item in the dropdownlist using a column in tblDepartment table. Step 1: Add "IsSelected" bit column to tblDepartment table ALTER TABLE tblDepartment ADD IsSelected BIT Step 2: At this point, this column will be null for all the rows in tblDepartment table. If we want IT department to be selected by default when the dropdownlist is loaded, set "IsSelected=1" for the "IT" department row. Update tblDepartment Set IsSelected = 1 Where Id = 2 Step 3: Refresh ADO.NET Entity Data Model Step 4: Finally, make the following changes to the "Index()" action method in "HomeController" class. public ActionResult Index() { SampleDBContext db = new SampleDBContext(); List[SelectListItem] selectListItems = new List[SelectListItem](); foreach (Department department in db.Departments) { SelectListItem selectListItem = new SelectListItem { Text = department.Name, Value = department.Id.ToString(), Selected = department.IsSelected.HasValue ? department.IsSelected.Value : false }; selectListItems.Add(selectListItem); } ViewBag.Departments = selectListItems; return View(); } Run the application and notice that, "IT" department is selected, when the dropdownlist is loaded. If you now want "HR" department to be selected, instead of "IT", set "IsSelected=1" for "HR" department and "IsSelected=0" for "IT" department. Update tblDepartment Set IsSelected = 1 Where Id = 2 Update tblDepartment Set IsSelected = 0 Where Id = 1

Firmware & Machine Settings | Simplify3D

07:27
More advanced users of Simplify3D may want to edit machine or firmware settings, especially if they are building their own 3D printers. Learn how to change the machine settings and firmware configuration. TRANSCRIPT For the software to correctly interface with your printer, it needs to know some details about the hardware you're using; second, it needs to know how to communicate with your printer, which is typically determined by what type of firmware it's running. So let me show you where both of these things can be set up in Simplify3D. You can set up your machine settings by going to Tools, Options, Machine tab. If you're on a Mac, you would go to Simplify3D then Preferences to get to this window. On this tab you can see there are settings like what type of printer, such as cartesian or delta, and some basic things like the build volume, orientation and coordinate system. Now let's go look at our firmware settings. Go to Tools, Firmware Configuration. This window defines the language that your 3D printer uses to communicate. The most common firmwares are already included. What we really want to talk about today is how Simplify3D automatically manages these settings for you. Let's do an example. There are two printers I am planning to use today, the Flashforge Creator Pro and the Lulzbot Taz 5. So you can see I have those two printer profiles loaded. In previous videos we've talked about how the profiles that you choose automatically adjust the process settings to what's optimized for that printer. But they also change a few other things. To see this, click on the G-code tab. I want to point out two areas here on the right: the Machine Definition and Firmware Configuration. If these boxes are checked, your machine settings and your firmware configuration will be automatically updated based on the settings you have chosen. So what's happening here is that we've connected our process settings, machine settings, and firmware settings so that they all change together. All of the profiles you use from Simplify3D already have this built in, making it much easier to switch between printers. You've probably noticed this if you've used the Configuration Assistant before. I'll click OK, and you can probably already see in the main window here that my machine settings have been updated, but let's verify that. You'll see that a lot these settings have changed. Now let's check the firmware settings -- we can tell that it's now using the Makerbot/Sailfish firmware, and we can see we have the added X3G tab, which is what we would expect since these printers use X3G files. But let's say later in the day I want to print on the Lulzbot. So if I go to Edit Process Settings and choose the Lulzbot Taz 5, and look under the G-Code tab, you'll see this profile also has the machine and firmware overrides enabled. I click OK, you see things are updated once again. In most cases, you won't need to mess with any of these settings, because as I mentioned, the default profiles in Simplify3D have all this taken care of. But, some of you out there may be building a custom machine or using a printer that isn't already in the Simplify3D database, so in that case, let's talk about how to set this up. I'll go to Edit Process Settings. Let's pretend I'm designing my own printer and I know it's very similar to the Prusa Mendel, so I'll select that profile and Save as New, which will create a new profile based on the Prusa Mendel settings. My printer is called the SuperPrinter 3000. Since I know I'm going to be using this printer along with the other printers, I want to make sure my machine and firmware settings will be synced properly. I'll go to the G-Code tab, I can see that both these options are already enabled. For any changes you ever need to make to the machine settings, you can change them right here; for instance, my SuperPrinter 3000 has a wider build platform, it's 300x300, so I need to update these numbers. For the firmware configuration, if the changes you need to make can be done solely by using the settings in this window, then make them here. However, it's important to note that the only options available here are the stock firmware profiles already included in Simplify3D. So if you need to make more advanced customizations to your firmware settings, there is one other thing you need to do first. Click OK, go to Tools, Firmware Configuration, and let's change a couple things. I'll set up a couple of custom macros, and I'll up my communication timeout to 40 seconds. Now, we have to be careful here: remember we have set up our SuperPrinter 3000 profile to use the stock Marlin firmware, so if I just click Save, that profile will eventually overwrite the changes I just made. So, if I want to ensure I don't lose these changes, I click Export to save them as a new firmware profile. Now I just need to integrate these changes into my custom profile by re-opening the G-Code tab and selecting my new firmware.

How To Change The Default Theme in a Microsoft Word Document - Part 2

02:58
All right, now we go back to our original Word document. How do I make the Aspect theme for this document the default theme - so whenever I open a new document in MS Word, it will automatically have the Aspect theme instead of the Office theme. To do that, go to the Home tab and in the Styles section of the Home tab ribbon, there's a Change Styles tool or button. Click on the down arrow and click on Set as Default. Now the Aspect theme will be the default theme for any new Word documents. To test this, open a new Word document and paste in the placeholder text. Now the body text font is Verdana. Go to the Page Layout tab and click on the down arrow of the Themes button, and you'll see that Aspect was automatically chosen for this new document. That proves that I have successfully changed the default theme to Aspect. Now let's go back and make Office the default theme. First, go to the Page Layout tab, click Themes and select Office. Go back to the Home tab and click on the down arrow of the Change Styles button on the Home tab ribbon. Click on Set as Default. Now Office is again the default theme for Word 2010. Open a new document to test this and paste the placeholder text. Now the font used for the body text or Normal style is Calibri and Office is now the theme of this document. In this screencast I have changed the default theme from Office to the Aspect theme, and then reverted back to Office as the default theme.

Using the Path Crossings Tool in MakaiPlan

05:03
Welcome to MakaiPlan, the world’s leading subsea cable planning software. This video will demonstrate using the Path Crossings tool. This tool allows you to find then add the exact points at which your path and other features in your project intersect. For this demonstration, we are interested in seeing where the path from Lanai to Honolulu Harbor intersects with other existing cables. To begin, access the Path Crossings tool from the Tools menu. The first step is to select the path of interest from the drop down menu. Then you select the database containing the features of interest. The Features box populates with the features available in that database. Check the box for the Fiber Optic Cable feature. The Extract Data From Fields box populates with the different fields of data within the chosen feature. You can check the boxes for any field you are interested in displaying data from. The data will be added in the label and comments field of the point. You can also add a label prefix to each point to indicate that it is a crossing point. If you would like to use a prefix other than CX and PX, you can choose other and type in a custom prefix. The check box for Show Burial Status toggles the option to display the burial status of the path at the crossing points. There are many options for displaying the angle at which the path and the feature intersect. The check box for Crossing Angle in Label toggles the option to display the angle in the label. If the box is checked, the Label Prefix will precede the angle value. This prefix is customizable. The check box for Crossing Angle in Comment toggles the option to display the angle in the comment field. The radio buttons for Angle First and Angle Last dictates if the angle is displayed before or after all of the other information in the label and comment fields. The last control you can set before finding the crossings is whether you want to search for crossings along the whole path or just through part of the path which is defined by path points. Click Find Crossings and the box below will populate with the points of intersection between your chosen path and feature. The Crossings column shows what path line is being intersected by the feature. It also includes a check box for each point which allows you to choose which points you wish to add to the path. We will leave them all checked so all crossing points are added. The Label column shows what is present in the Label field. Notice that your chosen label prefixes are implemented here. The data from the field checked in the Extract Data From Fields box is included as well. If there were multiple fields checked, it would display the first one. The Comment column shows what is present in the Column field. It includes by default the database and feature name. It also includes the data from all of the fields you have checked in the Extract Data From Fields box. In both the Label and Comment field is the crossing angle data. In the label, the value is displayed with the chosen prefix. In the comment, it is preceded by Cross Angle Equals and is the last piece of data included in the comment as we selected it to be. The last two options you have before you add the points to the path are to link the path points to the cable assembly and to replace the label for existing points, in the case that the crossing point is also an existing path point. The default settings are the advised settings so we will proceed to add these points to the path. Zoom in to see the points at the crossings in Plan View. The information in the Label and Comment are available through the Path Point Editor. These crossing points are now ready to be used to assist designing your cable. Please contact Makai to try the software or for more information. Thanks for watching.

Using the Benchmark tool in the game wanted to see what the best settings would be for my NVIDIA GTX 660 Graphics Card- Nvidia GTX 660 l CPU intel i5 3570K l 8GB ram 1600 There are 5 tests in total. I start off from default settings chosen by the program although I did put the Resolution up to 1080 as on my PC the difference between that and the 1600 x 900 isn't noticeable. The further tests ramp up the various settings to see what the extremes are. By having the Nvidia Gameworks settings on I see the biggest drop and with this card recommend leaving OFF Please drop a like and subscribe if you enjoyed or found it useful. How to change the Default Font and Font Size in Word 2010 and 2013

02:55
Hey what's up guys? I'm sorry I haven't been able to upload a video in a very long time. I have been very busy with school work and tae kwon dow. I'll try to upload videos more often. To get started: 1. Open up your Word 2010 or 2013. 2. You can do either of these things: Press CTRL+D, or press the arrow pointing downwards next to "Font" 3. Under the Heading "Font" you can choose whatever font you want to be default. You don't have to choose "Times New Roman" 4. To the right of "Font Style" choose the Font Size you want. The default in 2003 and lower is 12. 5. Once you have chosen your default font and font size, click on "Set As Default", which is at the bottom left hand corner. 6. Select the Second option "All documents based on the Normal.dotm" template This is important because if you select the first option, the changes will only apply to the current document you are editing, not future ones. 7. how to enable developer options in android new 2017 by deeptech

04:28
In this video i have shown you how to enable developer setting in marshmallow 6.0 supporting android devices. You can enable Developer Options, which will grant you access to features which are otherwise hidden away from plain view. Once enabled, you can tinker a lot of things on your device, for example, forcing your device to use GPU rendering in every corner of the OS, giving you a great boost in performance, but also keep in mind that such features can also take a big toll on battery life. All up for enabling Developer Options on your Android 6.0 Marshmallow device? Here’s how you can enable it right now. Enable Developer Options In Android 6.0 Marshmallow 1. Pull down on the notifications shade and open the Settings app. You can also achieve the same thing from the app drawer if you so wish. 2. Scroll all the way down and tap on ‘About phone.’ 3. Now scroll down again and you’ll see an entry labelled ‘Build number.’ Keep on tapping till you see a prompt that says ‘You are now a developer!’ 4. Go back to the Settings app, and you’ll see a new entry labelled ‘Developer options’ right above ‘About phone.’ Tap on it and play around with it to your heart’s desire. If you’re only tinkering around with Developer Options for a few kicks then we highly recommend that you be vary of the fact what you’re doing. Enabling certain options can significantly affect the performance of your device, and may cause it to crash quite miserably. If you have absolutely no clue what you’re doing, or for some reason find the option to be somewhat useless, then simply flick the toggle switch at the top to the OFF position to turn off Developer Options. For developers however, this is a very neat feature, as it allows them to play around with a bunch of stuff that’s baked into Marshmallow and Google has chosen to turn them off by default. For example, developers have the option to set mock locations, alter buffer sizes for apps, enable aggressive WiFi to cellular handover, and much, much more. Found the above guide useful? Then be sure to drop us a comment in the section below.

Master Templates In EverWeb

02:31
http://www.everwebapp.com A master template will allow you to create a master page for your website, so that any change made on the master template will be reflected on every other page on your site that is connected to the master template. Typically, a master template will be primarily used for the header and footer sections of a website. Here is how to use the Master Template feature in EverWeb. First, you will see that I have this page here that is completely blank. You will also notice that in the page list on the left hand side, there is a bar that I can drag up and down. I will click my mouse in the area above the bar, and then I will click on the Add Page button. This will allow me to add a page for my master template. You can choose from any of the pages from the themes list. Once I have selected one of the pages and added it, you will notice that the page appears in the list, and has a page icon with an M in it to indicate that it is a Master template. You can rename this page if you would like, by double clicking on it and typing in the new name. The page I have chosen looks like this. I can modify this master template however I want. If I click on the Home page for my website, we see that the page is still completely empty. With the Page Settings tab in the inspector window selected, you will see a Master Template drop down menu at the very top. No Selection will be the default option, but if we click on the drop down menu, we will see the master template that I just added. When I select that master template to apply to this page, you will notice that everything that was on the master template now appears on this page. If I go back to the master template and make a change, that same change will then appear on my Home page. On my home page, any item that appears from the master template must be modified on the master template itself. In other words, you cannot select any of the objects that come from the master template on a non-master template page. This feature makes building websites so much easier. Like mentioned earlier, the master template feature will typically be used on a website's header and footer as those 2 sections of a website are typically the same across all pages of a website, while the body area of the site is what tends to be unique from page to page. If you want, you can have multiple master templates so that you can apply different masters to different pages on your site.

Orbitals 1.0.5

01:02
Full Version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beatonma.orbitalslivewallpaper Free Version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beatonma.orbitalslivewallpaperfree Watch as planetary systems pop into existence and interact with each other through gravity, or touch the screen to add your own systems! Objects can collide with one another and will explode into smaller objects when they get too large. This full version includes options to choose background and object colours, the types of systems that are generated, some physics tweaks, and change the appearance of objects when the device is locked. Free version has options to change the maximum number of objects generated (for performance reasons) and options for visual aids like dot trails left behind objects. Recent changes: 1.0.5 (06 February 2014): - Multiple object colour options can now be chosen - e.g. you can choose red, orange and yellow instead of just red. (GingerBread devices are still limited to single colours, I'm afraid.) - Due to the above alteration, your colour settings have probably reset to the default 'all' setting. Apologies for the inconvenience of re-choosing your colours but I hope the ability to choose more than one is worth it. - Minor fixes for pre-Honeycomb Android versions. 1.0.4 (03 February 2014): - Object size preference. - All colour, size and object style options can now be chosen independently for the main screen and lock screen. - Size and colour option differences melt into one another when the device becomes locked or unlocked. - Re-reorganised options menu. 1.0.3 (22 January 2014): - Collision options: - Simple (immediate destruction of smaller object), - Merge (gradual mass transfer to larger object), - and None (no collisions, acceleration softened when objects are very close). - Option to change line thickness for wire frames. - Added this changelog-viewing dialog. 1.0.2 (21 January 2014): - Object transparency options. - Wire frame option to show objects as just their outline. - Lock screen options! You can now choose to change things like colour saturation, brightness or transparency of objects when your device is locked. More are in the works! - Reorganised options menu. Categories now have their own screens as the all-in-one menu was getting a bit long and cumbersome. 1.0.1 (17 January 2014): - Option to generate softer/desaturated colours - Collisions now gradually transfer mass and size to larger object instead of immediately destroying the smaller object. (This will be an option soon.) - Options to change the strength and direction (antigravity!) of gravity. - Option to choose preferred frame rate. - A couple of small visual tweaks. 1.0 (16 January 2014): First release!

Virtual Machine Network Setting: The Bridge

07:05
The Complete VMware vSphere 6.5: Beginner to Advanced-pt 1/2 https://www.udemy.com/vmware-vsphere/?couponCode=YTHOMELABV16 The Complete VMware vSphere 6.5: Beginner to Advanced-pt 2/2 https://www.udemy.com/vmware-vsphere-2/?couponCode=YTHOMELAB2V16 Using the Virtual Machine Control Panel (Edit - Virtual Machine Settings), you can add virtual Ethernet adapters to your virtual machine and change the configuration of existing adapters. Adding and Modifying Virtual Network Adapters To add a new virtual Ethernet adapter, follow these steps. Be sure the virtual machine to which you want to add the adapter is powered off. Open the Virtual Machine Control Panel (Edit - Virtual Machine Settings). Click Add. The Add Hardware Wizard starts. Select Network Adapter. Click Next. Select the network type you want to use - Bridged, NAT, Host-only or Custom. If you select Custom, choose the VMnet network you want to use from the drop-down list. Note: Although VMnet0, VMnet1 and VMnet8 are available in this list, they are normally used for bridged, host-only and NAT configurations, respectively. Special steps are required to make them available for use in custom configurations. You should choose one of the other switches. Click Finish. The new adapter is added. Click OK to save your configuration and close the Virtual Machine Control Panel. To change the configuration of an existing virtual network adapter, follow these steps. Open the Virtual Machine Control Panel (Edit - Virtual Machine Settings). Select the adapter you want to modify. Select the network type you want to use - Bridged, NAT, Host-only or Custom. If you select Custom, choose the VMnet virtual network you want to use for the network from the drop-down list. Click OK to save your changes and close the Virtual Machine Control Panel. Be sure the guest operating system is configured to use an appropriate IP address on the new network. If the guest is using DHCP, release and renew the lease. If the IP address is set statically, be sure the guest has an address on the correct virtual network. Configuring Bridged Networking Options on a Windows Host You can view and change the settings for bridged networking on your host. These changes affect all virtual machines using bridged networking on the host. You can decide which network adapters on your host to use for bridged networking. You can map specific network adapters to specific virtual networks (VMnets). Open a VMware Workstation window. Choose Edit - Virtual Network Settings. The Virtual Network Editor appears, with the Summary tab active. By default, the VMnet0 virtual network is set up in bridged mode and bridges to one of the active Ethernet adapters on the host computer. The choice of which adapter it uses is arbitrary. You can restrict the range of choices using options on the Automatic Bridging tab. (Also shown are VMnet1, the default virtual network for host-only networking, and VMnet8, the default virtual network for NAT, if they are enabled in VMware Workstation.) To exclude one or more physical Ethernet adapters from the list to which VMnet0 may be bridged, click the Automatic Bridging tab. To exclude an Ethernet adapter, click Add to add it to the list of excluded devices. In the Choose Network Adapters dialog box, select the listing for the adapter you want to exclude, then click OK. To remove an adapter from the list of excluded adapters, select its name in the list, then click Remove. To designate a physical Ethernet adapter to be used for bridged networking on virtual switches named VMnet2-VMnet7, click the Host Virtual Network Mapping tab. Choose an adapter from the drop-down list beside the name of the virtual switch you want to use. Caution: Be careful when you change the bridged adapter mappings. If you re-assign a physical Ethernet adapter to a different virtual network, any virtual machine using the original network loses its network connectivity via that network. You must then change the setting for each affected virtual machine's network adapter individually. This can be especially troublesome if your host has only one physical Ethernet adapter and you reassign it to a VMnet other than VMnet0; even though the VMnet still appears to be bridged to an automatically chosen adapter, the only adapter it can use has been assigned to another VMnet. To make changes to the subnet or the DHCP settings for a virtual network, click the button on the right that corresponds to the virtual network you want to configure, then choose Subnet or DHCP. In the Subnet dialog box, you can change the subnet's IP address and the subnet mask. The address should specify a valid network address that is suitable for use with the subnet mask.

Mojave Screen Capture Options (MacMost #1851)

06:26
Mojave added significant functionality to how we can control what happens after we take screenshots. While the default keyboard shortcuts remain the same, we can now choose where a screenshot is saved, or if the screenshot should automatically go to an app instead of a file. This allows you to easily name screenshots, delete ones we don't want without ever saving them, and even mark them up before saving.
