The exchange rate of yuan to US dollars is roughly six-to-one, which makes it nice for any Americans, Brits, or Europeans coming to China. This is a guide for anyone who may not know what Chinese money looks like or what it means. It may not be entertaining, but it is an important thing to talk about. Pound US dollar exchange rate: GBP slips as more trade talks with China scheduled

02:28
Pound US dollar exchange rate: GBP slips as more trade talks with China scheduled THE pound remains muted against the US dollar and the pairing is currently trading at around $1.292. In a statement on Tuesday the White House said that US Trade Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer will travel to Beijing for further trade talks on 30 April. These discussions will be led by Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, who will also be travelling to Washington for further discussions on 8 May. Commenting on the progress of the trade discussions was the White House’s economic advisor, Larry Kudlow. He said: “We’re not there yet, but we’ve made a heck of a lot of progress. “We’ve come further and deeper, broader, larger-scale than anything in the history of US-China trade.” However, global tensions rose on Tuesday following an announcement by the Trump administration that all waivers on imports of sanctioned Iranian oil would end next week. In response to this, Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said the US had made a mistake by ‘politicising oil’ and ‘using it as a weapon’, with global crude prices rising markedly in response. Sterling hit a two-month low against the dollar yesterday as pressure built on Theresa May to come up with a solution to the Brexit impasse. Hopes for a breakthrough from the cross-party talks appears to have faded, with reports suggesting that Theresa May was planning another vote on her Brexit agreement, meaning a fourth ‘meaningful vote’ could take place next week. This likely further dampened sentiment in Sterling, causing the pairing to slide over the course of Tuesday. Looking ahead to Thursday, the US dollar could rise against the pound following the release of the latest US durable goods orders. If orders rise in March, after a decline in orders the previous month, the greenback could receive a further boost. The pound could fall over the rest of this week’s session as the Prime Minister faces pressure from her own party to announce a date for her departure. If more Conservative MPs join the call for another vote of no-confidence in Mrs May it is likely the pound could come under more pressure against the US dollar over the coming days.

China‘s new exchange rate system and its consequences

02:51
14 August 2015: In China’s new, freer exchange rate system the country’s macroeconomic weaknesses will have a bigger impact on the exchange rate. We have therefore revised our USD-CNY forecast substantially upwards. Nonetheless, we still believe that the first US interest rate hike is more likely to happen in September than in December. Why China has been selling US Dollars

11:41
http://www.illuminatisilver.com http://www.facebook.com/illuminatisilver Why China has been selling US Dollars Today is Sunday 14th February 2016 and we are providing an update on an alternative reason as to why China has been selling US dollars. We have frequently heard pundits claim that they are being sold because of fear of the dollar’s imminent collapse. We also hear that China plans to replace the dollar with the Yuan as the new world currency. Now frankly, when we raise this with economists they simply laugh and do that sign many make with their finger circling their temple when they believe someone is just a little barmy. So what is the real truth as to why China is selling dollars. Well we can at least give you the official explanation and you can make up your own mind as to whether you believe it or not. In August 2015, Beijing decided to tweak its exchange rate peg with the dollar, making the Yuan float in a wider band against the greenback. But the devaluation in itself was small. Allaying fears further, the Chinese began to immediately intervene to prop up the Yuan to stop it falling too fast by drawing down their reserves. However these defensive efforts have come at a cost – the erosion of China's foreign currency reserves. Many commentators have made large of the fact that China’s dollar reserves fell by a considerable $420 bn over the past six months and now stand at their lowest level since May 2012, however they neglect to add that China is still holding some $3.23 tn in foreign currency holdings. Australian Dollar to US Dollar

04:06
http://www.forexconspiracyreport.com/australian-to-us-dollar/ : Title: Australian to US Dollar By www.ForexConspiracyReport.com The rate of exchange of the Australian to US Dollar has been moving in favor of the US dollar. To a degree this is because the US Federal Reserve is tapering its quantitative easing program of bond and US Treasury purchases. This is driving up interest rates in the USA and would tend to reduce the value of the Australian to US dollar. However, a major factor in the value of the AUD is the strength of the Chinese economy as China is a major customer for raw materials as well as finished products from Australia. For more insights into the Australian to US dollar ratio take a look at the following chart and continue reading the article. Year............................AUD = 1 USD..........Chinese Growth Rate 1999 .............................0.61 ............................ 7.6% 2000 .............................0.65 ............................ 8.4% 2001 ............................ 0.56 ............................ 8.3% 2002 ............................ 0.52 ............................ 9.1% 2003 ............................ 0.56 ............................ 10% 2004 ............................ 0.74 ............................ 10.1% 2005 ............................ 0.78 ............................ 1.3% 2006 ............................ 0.74 ............................ 12.7% 2007 ............................ 0.77 ............................ 14.2% 2008 ............................ 0.87 ............................ 9.6% 2009 ............................ 0.71 ............................ 9.2% 2010 ............................ 0.90 ............................ 10.4% 2011 ............................ 1.03 ............................ 9.3% 2012 ............................ 1.02 ............................ 7.8% 2013 ............................ 1.03 ............................ 7.7% 2014 ............................ 0.89 ............................ 7.4% Chinese GDP growth rates are courtesy of the World Bank web site and are updated through the end of 2012. Figures for 2013 and estimates for 2014 are from private sources. Exchange rates are as of the first of each year and represent the amount in AUD required to purchase one USD. Following the numbers we can see that in general a higher Chinese growth rate and especially the anticipation of a higher Chinese growth rate helps the AUD. A slowing Chinese growth rate hurts the AUD. We have noted that economic change in China may well be positive. To the extent that the Chinese real estate bubble bursts, manufacturing numbers continue to drop or massive amounts of bad loans destroy banks in China the AUD will suffer. Higher Interest Rates in the USA When interest rates go up money will follow. Japan has been stuck with extremely low interest rates for years and investors habitually converted strong Yen to weak dollars and took advantage of high US interest rates. When rates in the US fell these folks simply took their money back home. Now, as rates promise to rise in the USA investment and Forex capital is moving into dollars. The Fed action is hurting currencies around the world as the USD rises in value. This affects the Australian to US dollar relationship as well. However, our primary concern with the Australian to US dollar relationship does not have to do with a transpacific relationship but rather with Australia's reliance on the Chinese market. The Sino Australian Trade Relationship and the AUD Australia commonly runs a trade excess with China of more than $20 Billion with total exports to China running well over $60 Billion. Both figures are in AUD. A trade excess is obviously good for Australia. Having a large customer for coal, oil, liquefied natural gas and iron ore has helped Australia prosper in good times and has tempered the effects of the recession. However, what happens if the Chinese economy bottoms out? Traders will be wise to avoid going long for too long on the AUD for the time being. Or traders can use Forex options to hedge risk and still prosper from the ups and downs of the Australian to US dollar. http://youtu.be/9hIPDQIhHVU

Free Renminbi Exchange Rate versus the Dollar

04:26
http://www.theforexnittygritty.com/forex/free-renminbi-exchange-rate-versus-the-dollar Free Renminbi Exchange Rate versus the Dollar By www.TheForexNittyGritty.com China is allowing banks to set a free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar in over the counter trading. This may well be a first step in freeing its currency from state control according to a Reuter's article reported in the New York Times. China has permitted banks to freely set their own exchange rates for the renminbi against the dollar in over-the-counter transactions - another step toward freeing the exchange rate from government control. China has been moving slowly toward a free floating currency although slower than North American and European nations would have liked. Most recently banks were required to set Renminbi US dollar exchange rates within three percent of a government dictated exchange rate. The bottom line to a free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar is that China believes that its currency is now fairly priced versus the US dollar. As such a free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar or other major currencies will not result in a run on the dollar or a run on the Renminbi. Renminbi Internationalization It is a goal of the Chinese government to internationalize the Renminbi. According to the Euromoney online the move to a free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar is meant to further the Renminbi's internationalization. A common complaint of companies working in China is managing liquidity with what has been a government controlled currency. In a survey conducted by Euromoney's Research Group in association with ICBC on the Renminbi's rise, close to 3,000 treasury and finance professionals of international companies with exposure to China responded and shared their views on renminbi liquidity management, cross-border trade settlement, inter-company invoicing and some of the main operational challenges corporate treasurers face in the country. Additionally, China would like to have the clout that the US does in international affairs as seen in the ability of the United States and its Western allies to shut down trade with rogue nations via the international banking system. A free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar could be viewed with that aspect in mind as well. Free Trade, Fair Trade and Central Banks A seemingly eternal complaint of the North Americans and Europeans is how China manipulates its currency in order to drive up the value of the US dollar and Euro. This practice has made Chinese products more competitive and resulted in the growth of the Chinese industrial machine. Now that there is a move to a free Renminbi exchange rate versus the dollar, one might be naïve enough to think that currency manipulation is over with. Think again. Central Banks are always free to buy and sell currencies and even with a free floating Renminbi the People's Bank of China can still buy dollars to drive the price up and maintain a competitive advantage in trade. Meanwhile China is poised to pay for Russian oil and natural gas in Renminbi, trade Renminbi in London and is setting up Renminbi clearing bank in South Korea to facilitate a bilateral trade deal and trade denominated in Renminbi. Chinese and South Korean leaders have pledged to sign a bilateral trade agreement by the end of this year and introduce direct trading of their currencies to spur cross-border renminbi transactions and deepen economic ties in two of Asia's largest economies. So much for the USD as the only currency to trade against the minor currencies of the world! http://youtu.be/H0e5BJAYo-U

Chinese yuan gains value against US dollar

02:29
China's central bank on Friday raised the value of the yuan against the US dollar by 0.05 percent, the national foreign exchange market said, ending three days of falls after a surprise devaluation. The daily reference rate was set at 6.3975 yuan to $1.0, from 6.4010 the previous day, the China Foreign Exchange Trade System said. That was also slightly stronger than Thursday's close of 6.3982 yuan. The higher fixing for the yuan came after the People's Bank of China (PBoC) reassured financial markets by pledging to seek a stable currency after a shock devaluation of nearly two percent on Tuesday. The cut, and two subsequent reductions, sent global financial markets into a tailspin as it raised questions over the health of the world's second-largest economy and sparked fears of a possible currency war. Beijing said the move was the result of switching to a more market-oriented method of calculating the daily reference rate which sets the value of the yuan, also known as the renminbi (RMB). Previously, authorities based the rate on a poll of market-makers, but will now also take into account the previous day's close, foreign exchange supply and demand and the rates of major currencies. The yuan is still only allowed to fluctuate up or down two percent on either side of the reference rate. "Currently, there is no basis for the renminbi exchange rate to continue to depreciate," PBoC assistant governor Zhang Xiaohui said Thursday. "The central bank has the ability to keep the renminbi basically stable at a reasonable and balanced level," she said. Speaking earlier this week, another PBoC official said the central bank could directly intervene in the market, after reports it bought yuan on Wednesday to prop up the unit. "The central bank, if necessary, is fully capable of stabilising the exchange rate through direct intervention in the foreign exchange market," PBoC economist Ma Jun said. China keeps a tight grip on its currency due to worries that sudden fund outflows or inflows could cause more financial risk and challenge its control, but it has also pledged to move towards more flexibility. Beijing is pushing for the yuan to become one of the reserve currencies in the International Monetary Fund's SDR (special drawing rights) group.

The relationship between the Current Account Balance and Exchange Rates

16:16
This lesson will illustrate how trade flows should lead to appreciation and depreciation of currencies in a floating exchange rate system, and then explain how in the case of China, central bank policy aimed at buying large quantities of US government debt keeps the supply of Chinese currency high in the US and the demand for US dollars high in China. This means the dollar remains stronger than it otherwise might relative to the Chinese RMB, contributing to the persistent trade deficits the US exhibits in its trade with China. Won-Dollar Exchange Rate

01:27
[Anchor Lead] The exchange rate between the Korean Won and U.S. Dollar has plunged to its lowest level in three months in the wake of Donald Trump's inauguration, putting Korean businesses on high alert. Let’s find out more. [Pkg] The won-dollar exchange rate, which rose three won the previous day, nosedived 12 won as soon as the market opened. Although the market managed to buffer the plunge, the won-dollar exchange rate closed at 1,158 won per dollar, the lowest level in 83 days. [Soundbite] Seo Jung-hoon(KEB Hana Bank) : "The currency exchange rate soared on the strong dollar, but then all of a sudden plummeted rapidly." The higher value of the Korean currency is a stumbling block for export businesses, because it inevitably undermines price competitiveness. Analysts say that a decrease in the exchange rate by just a hundred won results in quarterly losses of hundreds of billions of won for major manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics. [Soundbite] Lee Chang-seon(LG Economic Research Inst.) : "If the U.S. goes for protectionism and the foreign currency fluctuations intensify, businesses will have a hard time predicting the future, while export conditions will deteriorate." If Chinese exports to the U.S. hit a snag due to the escalating currency war between the two nations, Korean exports of intermediary materials to China will inevitably suffer a blow.

Putting On a Long-Term US Dollar/Chinese Yuan Trade

09:01
Learn to invest and trade: http://www.informedtrades.com Key points in this video: 1. USDCNH is has fallen back into its price channel and is now at the top trendline of the channel. Given the ongoing initiatives of the PBOC to internationalize the yuan, I think this may be a good time to short the yuan. Accordingly, I just entered a small position with my stop 1,000 pips above at 6.45 and a target profit of the lows from 2014 near 6.00. 2. We are seeing USD at resistance against EUR, and also approaching resistance against gold. This may fit the theme of USD weakness getting ready to appear. 3. If dollar weakness does appear, the holding pattern on TLT -- the ETF tracking long-dated US Treasury bonds -- may break south. We may also see oil rise too. 4. High grade copper continues to head south, and may complete an AB=CD pattern that would give it a target of around 2.03. I don't have a trade on here, but it may be a nice reward/risk setup for those who wish to trade copper.

US-China Meeting Starts With Call for Fair Exchange Rate

03:56
This is the VOA Special English Economics Report, from http://voaspecialenglish.com | http://facebook.com/voalearningenglish American Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner recently urged China to let the exchange value of its money rise. Mister Geithner was among top officials from both countries who gathered in Beijing for the U.S.-China Strategic Dialogue. Their goal was to increase cooperation on security and economic issues.Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke as the meeting opened on May third. She said the two sides were working to build a relationship so that both countries grow without unhealthy competition or conflict. She noted that nations must deal with issues of economics and international politics in a way that is not 'win or lose', or what she called zero-sum. Secretary Clinton also said that both the United States and China have to meet responsibilities to their own citizens and the international community. The value of China's money, the yuan, was among the economic issues discussed at the meeting. In early May, the exchange rate was over six yuan to the American dollar. The United States says China intervenes in foreign currency markets to keep the exchange value of the yuan low. A lower value means Chinese exports are less costly than their competitors. Critics also say China unfairly supports its industries with many other forms of government support. Last year, America's trade deficit with China reached a record two hundred ninety-five billion dollars. At the talks with American officials, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan defended his country's money policy. He said China is moving at a measured rate to make its currency more flexible. And he urged the United States not to "politicize" economic issues. Mister Wang also called on the United States to ease controls on high-technology exports and increase Chinese access to financial markets. Secretary Geithner said China had moved toward a better way of valuing the yuan. But he said more reform was needed. He said a strong, more market-determined yuan will help strengthen China's economic reform goal of moving toward higher value-added production. Currency reform, said Mister Geithner, also was important to China's financial system and to increasing consumer demand at home. For VOA Special English, I'm Alex Villarreal. The rate of dollar is changing on a daily basis. Therefore, the converter available on this website is updated every day according to the latest rate. You can trust the calculations made by this tool and get results within a matter of seconds. There are many reasons that are the cause of an ever-increasing dollar rate. One of the biggest factors is the stability of the US economy. On the other hand, the economy of Pakistan is quite unstable, leading to the devaluation of the rupee. A country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) also determines the value of its currency. In comparison to Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product, USA's GDP is much higher. This is one of the most obvious reasons for the huge difference in the rates of the two currencies. The investment of international entrepreneurs can boost a country's economy by strengthening it. However, due to the current conditions of Pakistan, the international investors have been frightened away. As a result, Pakistan's economy has suffered greatly. This is one of the reasons why the value of rupee has fallen, and the US Dollar rate in Pakistan keeps on increasing. The US dollar rate has been increasing very rapidly over the past few years. One advantage of this rapidly increasing rate of dollar is for the local investors. Dollars can be used as a good investment. Buy a particular sum of dollars one day, and you will be able to earn a profit by selling them back the very next day! However, to get a higher profit, you should wait for a few days. In this way, you can make sure that the rate has increased considerably and therefore you will be able to generate more profit by selling the dollars. You can keep checking the dollar rate daily through this converter. However, do keep in mind the fact that the buying rate and selling rate is always different. The dollars are converted back into rupees at a slightly lower rate. Therefore, it will be prudent to wait before the rate has considerably increased for you to be able to earn a substantial profit. You should keep checking the conversion rate on a regular basis. To fulfill this purpose, you do not have to visit a bank. This can be done right from the comfort of your own home through the converter, which is available on this website. You can convert any sum of money and compare the current rate with your previous conversions. You can maintain a record of these conversions to be able to analyze the changing pattern of the rate. mjh studio Channel link Subscribe Here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCohh9khHhBaVr2Ih7OGvSng DISCLAIMER: This Channel DOES NOT Promote or encourage Any illegal activities, all contents provided by This Channel is meant for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE only. #mjhstudio

डॉलर दुनिया की सबसे मजबूत मुद्रा(currency) कैसे बना? How US dollar became king of global finance?

11:43
Why Indian RUPEE is falling against US dollar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTJfM8r_q3A&t=14s Today, the whole world's business is mostly in the US dollar, the world of debt is also in the US dollar, foreign exchange reserves of different countries of the world are also in the US dollar. because the US dollar is the strongest currency in the world. Well, some of the currencies are ahead of the dollar like Euro, Bahrain Dinar and many more, but for the world, these currency is not as important as the US dollar. So in today's video we will talk about why US dollar is the world's strongest currency? And how did it become the world's strongest currency? In what places are the dollar used? The entire history of the US dollar. the history of the US Dollar: During the American Revolution of 1776, revolutionaries demanded that each country has its official currency. on 2 April 1792, Alexander Hamilton, presented a report in front of the National Congress by scientifically determining the amount of silver in the "Spanish Milled Dollar" coins. As a result of this report, the dollar was defined as the unit of measure. #Dollar #USD #USDollar The history behind the Dollar Icon ($) is that the English US-United States was added to indicate the US dollar. the current strength of the dollar was introduced after the Breton Woods Agreement in 1944. Before that, most of the world's countries considered gold as a better standard. The governments of those countries used to promise that they would fix their currency on the basis of the value of gold demand. But New Hampshire's Breton Woods found the developed countries of the world and fixed the exchange rate of all the currencies against the US dollar. That is, if anything is to be done in the whole world, then the US dollar will be used. Because the United States had the world's largest gold reserves at that time. And this agreement allowed other countries to support dollar of their currency rather than gold. After that, in the beginning of the year 1970, many countries started demanding gold in return for fighting inflation. These countries gave dollars to the US and used to take gold in return. America's gold reserves ended when this happened. American President Nixon of that time, instead of allowing all his stores to be extinguished, instead of dumping the dollar from sleep, thus the exchange rate between dollar and gold ended and the exchange value of currencies; Started on the basis of demand and fulfillment. how dollar been world's strongest currency and it's reasons: there are a total of 185 currencies around the world. But most of these currencies are used within their own country. The extent of any currency prevailing throughout the world depends on the economy and strength of that country. Because 85% of the world's business is with the help of US Dollar. About 39% of the world's debt is given in US dollars and 65% of the total dollar amount is used outside of the United States. That's why foreign banks and countries need dollar in international trade. The foreign currency reserves in the central banks around the world account for 64% of the US dollar. If two non-American countries also do business with each other, they prefer to take US dollars as a payment because they know that if they have a dollar in their hands, they will import their goods from any other country. So today, US dollar has become the world's strongest currency and if it is talking about Euro currency in front of it, the euro is 20% of the foreign currency reserves of central banks around the world. Euro is dominated by many areas of the world. The euro is also strong because the European Union is one of the world's largest economies, and some economists believe that in the coming time Euro can replace the dollar. China and Russia have demanded a new global currency, both of which want to create a reserve currency for the world, fourth quarter of 2016, China's Yuan was another major reserve currency of the world. And by the third quarter of the year 2017, there were 108 billion dollars in the central bank of the world. China's yuan joins U.S. dollar, pound, yen, euro as reserve currency

IMF, 中위안 SDR 바스켓 편입 발표…라가르드 "역사적 이정표" China's yuan has officially joined the elite club of reserve currencies,... marking a milestone for the Chinese government's campaign for recognition as a global economic power. The yuan on Saturday joined the U.S. dollar, the euro, the yen and British pound in the IMF's so-called "special drawing rights" or SDR basket, which determines currencies that countries can receive as part of IMF loans. The People's Bank of China hailed the inclusion,... saying it's an affirmation of the success of China's economic development and results of the reform and opening up of the financial sector. The bank added that China will use the opportunity to further deepen economic reforms and open up the sector to promote global growth. The IMF announced last year that it would add the yuan to the SDR basket, so the inclusion is not expected to shake up financial markets. Foreign Exchange sign reading "Chinese Yuan exchange" in Chinese characters STORYLINE: The Chinese Yuan was on Monday officially available for exchange in Taiwan's local banks, paving the way for the arrival of mainlanders on charter flights this Friday. A person can exchange the equivalent of 20-thousand yuan or 88-thousand New Taiwan dollars (2,912 US dollars) at one time, Taiwan Central Bank had announced last week. Currently the yuan, or RMB which stands for Renminbi in Mandarin, can only be traded legally on Kinmen and Matsu, two islands close to the Chinese coast, which Taiwan retained after it split from the mainland in 1949. However, a strong gray market supports its exchange in Taipei and other major Taiwanese cities. Wang Wen-lung, deputy general manager of foreign department of Mega International Commercial Bank, said the bank has shown staff on how to recognise counterfeit RMB notes. "If we receive counterfeit notes of Chinese Yuan that worth under US Dollars 200, our bank will confiscate the notes. If the value is over USD 200, we will call the police," he said. The current exchange rate for RMB is 4.554 Taiwanese dollars. The rate is maintained relatively high due as the costs for banks to buy RMB is high too, added Wang. "Once the Chinese mainland tourists come in, there will be more banks which offer this exchange service. Then it will help decease our costs. In that case, the exchange rate will decrease too," he said. About four (m) million Taiwanese visit China yearly. Under a new agreement between Taiwan and China that will take effect this week, an estimated 300-thousand Chinese tourists could visit Taiwan every year. The first charter flight across the Taiwan Straits will be launched on July 4, and the direct visit by mainland visitors will begin on July 18. Word of the Day: Currency Peg

03:20
Watch more Capital Account @ http://www.youtube.com/CapitalAccount http://twitter.com/laurenlyster http://twitter.com/coveringdelta A currency peg, otherwise referred to as a fixed exchange rate, is a type of exchange system wherein a currency's value is matched to the value of another single currency or to a basket of other currencies, or to another measure of value, such as gold. The most readily well-known "currency manipulator" is China, which pegs the yuan to the us dollar. Their's is a flexible peg, but a peg nonetheless, and we look at this during our word of the day, as well as the case of Argentina. These are two very different types of currency pegs. In the case of the yuan, China artificially undervalues their currency relative to the dollar, in an effort to cheapen their exports and drive growth with sales to the US and other countries. This is an export led growth model, facilitated by a cheap currency. The people's bank of china achieves this buy regularly going out into the open market and buying us dollars in return of chinese yuan. This helps to push down the value of the yuan relative to the dollar, cheapening the chinese currency, but also causing inflation domestically because china has to print all this extra money in order to soak up the USD it buys. When a country like china loosens it's peg, its currency will naturally rise. In the case of Argentina, the central bank in that country was keeping its currency artificially high relative to the USD. When Argentina headed into depression during the early 2000's it became increasingly difficult for the country to maintain the peg, because in the case of countries that are artificially increasing the value of their currency, the national central bank had to intervene in the market by selling foreign exchange reserve in return for pesos. This had its limits, since the Argentinian central bank only had so many reserves to sell. The advantage of having a strong and stable currency, as was the case in Argentina throughout the 90's is that it attracts a lot of foreign capital. However, when times get tough, a lot of that capital can leave and then you can find yourself bankrupt very quickly.

🇨🇳 China's 'petro-yuan': The end of the dollar hegemony? | Counting the Cost

25:53
In an attempt to reshape the global oil market, the Shanghai International Energy Exchange has launched the first crude futures contracts priced in Chinese reminbi, or yuan. China, the world's biggest oil importer buys around nine million barrels of oil every day and it wants to use its own currency to price the world's most-traded commodity. The US dollar has been the main currency for oil futures contracts, so launching a contract in its domestic currency is a sign that China wants the yuan to play a bigger role in global oil trading. China is also taking on the world's most used oil benchmarks, Brent and WTI crude, which are both priced in dollars. But Shanghai-traded oil is still far away from earning benchmark status and taking on the petrodollar won't be easy. "For now, it doesn't mean many changes. Oil is still going to trade in the US dollar, but increasingly over time, there will be more transactions ... but this is not a gamechanger, yet," Michal Meidan, Asia analyst for Energy Aspects, tells Counting the Cost. "The goal is for China to establish an Asian benchmark that will reflect Chinese consumption and more broadly Asian demand patterns", but he believes "it's highly unlikely" that the yuan will challenge the dollar in the near future. Meidan explains that the Chinese yuan would have to become "freely convertible, we would need other countries to open up to settlement in the renminbi; but the primary issue will be currency convertibility. And for now, the Chinese government is very reluctant to loosen currency controls and to give it up to free trade." "It's unlikely China will loosen the reigns on their currency", says Meidan, "It's very hard to see that happening in the coming five years. They still have a lot of domestic challenges that they need to meet and the government and Xi Jinping are in agreement that the state and the party needs a very firm control over that [currency]. If liberalisation was the trend in the 1990s, I think we're very much seeing a reversal of that. China is very much willing to become a global player, but under its own terms. And whether the global market or global investors are happy to take that on - I think we're not seeing a huge amount of appetite for that yet." Also on this episode of Counting the Cost: Tech giants: Technology stocks have had a dramatic week. At one point the so-called "FANG" stocks of Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Google saw their worst one-day loss as a group. But by Thursday, they managed to end the quarter higher. It's all because the business models of tech titans like Facebook have been getting more attention from regulators. Micro-targeting: Facebook is promising to end partnerships with several data brokers that help advertisers target people on the social network. The company is trying to limit the fallout from allegations that the British firm, Cambridge Analytica, improperly accessed user data to influence the 2016 US elections, as Jonah Hull reports from London. Amazon tax: Reports that US President Donald Trump is looking to change the way online retailer Amazon is regulated sent its share price plummeting earlier this week. At one point stocks fell by as much as 7.4 percent, wiping more than $50bn from Amazon's market value. Katia Lopez-Hodoyan reports from Washington, DC. Saudi solar: Saudi Arabia and Japan's Softbank signed up to a $200bn solar mega-plan. It will feature the biggest battery ever made and networks of solar panels across the Saudi Arabian desert. But several analysts cautioned the current agreement is not binding and could be revised. Somalia tax: Anger is growing from consumers in Somalia over the rising cost of shopping and eating out. It's because of the five percent sales tax, the first sales tax in nearly 30 years. The government says the levy is crucial for Somalia's economic recovery, as Mohammed Adow reports from Mogadishu. Africa CEO Forum: The annual Africa CEO Forum's two-day event held in Ivory Coast featured discussion and debate around the economic and industrial challenges facing the African continent. It comes just one week after the leaders of 44 African countries signed a framework deal to create one of the world's largest free trade blocs. But Nigeria and South Africa, two of the continent's biggest economies have yet to sign up. Cyprus tourism: Tourism is booming in Cyprus, as the island works to recover from a damaging financial crisis five years go. Not all areas, though, are reaping the rewards of those seeking sunnier shores. Chinese Yuan Hits Weakest Level Against The Dollar In Over A Decade

00:52
According to a report by Markets Insider, on Tuesday, the Chinese yuan hit its weakest level against the dollar in over a decade, raising questions about how far policymakers might allow the currency to fall. The People's Bank of China set the dollar's reference rate at 6.9574 yuan per US dollar, before falling to 6.975, its weakest since May 2008. Markets Insider reports that escalating trade tensions between Washington and Beijing have increased pressure to an already slowing Chinese economy. On Monday, President Donald Trump reportedly said that his administration was prepared to place tariffs on all remaining Chinese imports to the US if trade talks don’t produce results. https://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-yuan-hits-weakest-level-in-decade-2018-10 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Business using http://wochit.com

China devalues yuan to lowest rate against US dollar in almost three years

01:16
China's central bank has devalued the yuan to its lowest rate against the US dollar in almost three years and its biggest one-day drop since 1994 when China aligned its official and market rates. The lender cut its daily reference rate 1.9 percent calling the change " a one-off depreciation". The move comes as policy makers stepped up efforts to support exporters on the back of data earlier this week which showed exports tumbled by 8.3 percent in July. The lender said its fixing will become mo… READ MORE : http://www.euronews.com/2015/08/11/china-devalues-yuan-to-lowest-rate-against-us-dollar-in-almost-three-years euronews business brings you latest updates from the world of finance and economy, in-depth analysis, interviews, infographics and more Subscribe for daily dose of business news: http://bit.ly/1pcHCzj Made by euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe.

1947 के बाद भारतीय रुपए में गिरावट के कारण और इतिहास | Devaluation of Indian Rupee's History

12:09
Historical Data USD to INR from 1947 to 2019 in HIndi At the time of Independence 1 Rupee was a 1 US dollar and today you know that after so many years of independence, the value of more than 70 Indian rupees is equal to 1 US dollar. That is, as the time passed, the Indian Rupee declined. So in today's video, we will talk about why Indian rupee got weak after Independence? What's the reason? History of Indian Rupee and how was the sign of Indian Rupee, Icon fixed? Indian rupee history: word Rupee is derived from the Sanskrit word Rupa or Rupyah, which means silver, and Rupyakam means silver coin. The word "rupee" was first used in India during Sher Shah Suri. silver coin whose weight was around eleven grams. At that time, the copper coin, which was called the 'Dam' and gold coin which was called a 'Mohar'. Rupee was in circulation during the British rule in India, during which it weighed 11.66 grams, and at the end of the 19th century the rupee was equivalent to one shilling and four pence according to the customary British currency exchange rate. When the world's most powerful economies were based on gold in the 19th century, there was a severe decline in the value of silver made coin. As a result of large quantities of silver source found in the United States and various European colonies, the value of silver has fallen significantly more than gold. That is why the purchasing of standard currency of India started decreasing. what happened with Indian Rupees after Independence? Since independence, the Indian rupee has declined three times, that is, the market in which exchange of currencies of different countries is called foreign currency market. - Floating Exchange Rate: always changes. - Fixed Exchange Rate: stable exchange rate. - Managed Exchange Rate: neither stable nor independent. - Par Value System: each member country of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) used to express its value as gold or US dollar from 1947-1971. After independence India also followed the IMF system. Then the exchange rate between the Indian rupee and the US dollar was equal to one another. 1 dollar equivalent to 1 rupee. Then in September 1949, the exchange rate of Indian rupee was 4.75 rupees in front of the 1 dollar. In 1966 the value of Rupee was devalued 36.5% and the exchange rate of Indian rupee was 7.10 rupees per dollar. And this exchange system continued till the year 1971. When the gold reserves possessed by the US came to an end, they broke the system, that is. Reasons which led to the devaluation of Indian rupee. At the time of independence, there was no external debt in India. 1. lack of money: 1950s and 1960s, the Indian government continued to take foreign currency in the form of loans, due to which the exchange rate became 4.75 rupees per US dollar. 2. China and Pakistan: Indian government needed technology to increase its domestic production capacity. so devalued the external value of rupee for foreign trade and opening up the Indian economy, due to which the exchange rate went up to 7 rupees per US dollar. 3. Political instability and the Oil tragedy of 1973: Import value of oil became high. the exchange rate was reduced and it went up to Rs 12.34 per US in 1985, while in 1990 it was $ 17.50 per US dollar. 4. 1991 economic crisis in India: It is believed that this was the toughest period of Indian economy. Government of India was paying 39% of its total revenue collection. India was unable to pay to foreigners, due to again devalued the Indian currency and the exchange rate became 24.58 rupees per US. There are many reasons, such as lack of expenditure on oil imports, after the year 2000, huge quantities of gold were imported in India, and during this time the imports of luxury items in India began to grow due to the presence After the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the global economic slowdown in 2007-08, the global universal credit crisis in 2011, the GST by Govt and due to many reasons such as Note ban in India in 2018. Due to all these factors, today the value of Indian currency is moving around more than 70 rupees per US dollar in 2019. Indian rupee icon (symbol of Indian currency): Official symbol for Indian currency was selected on July 15, 2010, which was designed by Prof. D. Uday Kumar, Professor of IIT Guwahati. Selection of the best combination of Indian culture and Indian languages as well as the better cohesive symbol of the modern era. That is why the rupee has become the fifth currency such as the US dollar, the British pound, the Japanese yen and the euro of the European Union, which will be identified by its symbol. The history of Indian economy tells that the devaluation of Indian Rupee has helped the Indian economy in times of crisis, and every time the value of Indian currency has decreased in front of it. That is why it is more than 70 rupees per dollar today.
The Economic Collapse Of China Coming! $30 Trillion Dollar Dark Cloud Of Debt - China’s Yuan CRASH!

11:01
Will The China's Economic Collapse Happen In the near future? The probability of China cutting its trade surplus with the US responding to tariff threats proposed by President Donald Trump is absolutely nil. Beijing cannot respond to any direct demand put across by Washington. Nevertheless, there is a looming debt in crisis in China attributed to the efforts made by Washington in imposing a 25% increase in trade tariffs. At first, the 25% increase in tariffs on machinery and electronics export appeared like a furtiveness tax on offshoring. In line with Trump’s 2016 tax promise “any business that leaves our country”, the tax increase centers goods categories such as nuclear components and semiconductors, in which U.S. manufacturers based in Chine are performing well economically. A closer look at the imposition of new tariffs on low-value exports involving Asian value chains, it appears that the new tariffs aim at possibly reducing the trade of cheap products bought by the U.S rather than targeting offshoring. Nevertheless, the U.S administration seems set on reducing its present account deficit which is much lower than the 6 percent reached in the 2006-2007 financial year. This comes just as the interest rates are rising thanks to the U.S Federal Reserve legislation. Already, the 25 percent trade tariff increase has caused an economic crisis in China with the currency(yuan) exchanging at 6.725 to the U.S dollar, the lowest rate in a year and 5 percent less than the exchange rate at the end of May 2018. With China’s stable and centrally controlled currency, such an increase on trade tariffs is not easily felt. However, a stable currency is the government’s promise to its citizens and can only be achieved by the central bank firmly managing the exchange rate to prevent an unusual increase. Investors in China have started exporting money as seen in May 2018 where there was a decline in the foreign-exchange reserves due to the uncertainty of the yuan stability despite buying official assurances guaranteeing the stability of yuan for almost a year. One sign of an impending economic collapse in China is the currency in which as much as China tries to display a well-performing economy courtesy of an increase in GDP; the crisis is evident with passing clouds on trade, employment rates, and products consumption. The other evident economic collapse sign is the decline in The Shanghai Composite Index of stocks by 7 percent in a month, plummeting for the first time since September 2016 below the set redline of 3,000 shares. Additionally, corporate bonds are being largely defaulted in addition to junk bond yields confounding. The economic crisis has even been made public with the media reporting on the failure of the government to pay its employees or even meet pension responsibilities further increasing the anxiety surrounding the declining economic situation. Property prices have not been spared either as they are mainly dipping in major cities and frozen in others as the government attempts to resolve the economic crisis by stopping property transactions.... One of the biggest factors is the stability of the US economy. On the other hand, the economy of Pakistan is quite unstable, leading to devaluation of the rupee. A country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) also determines the value of its currency. In comparison to Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product, USA's GDP is much higher. This is one of the most obvious reasons between the huge difference in the rates of the two currencies. The investment of international entrepreneurs can boost a country's economy by strengthening it. However, due to the current conditions of Pakistan, the international investors have been frightened away. As a result, Pakistan's economy has suffered greatly. This is one of the reasons why the value of rupee has fallen and the US Dollar rate in Pakistan keeps on increasing. The US dollar rate has been increasing very rapidly over the past few years. One advantage of this rapidly increasing rate of dollar is for the local investors. Dollars can be used as a good investment. Buy a particular sum of dollars one day and you will be able to earn a profit by selling them back the very next day! However, in order to get a higher profit, you should wait for a few days. You should keep checking the conversion rate at a regular basis. In order to fulfill this purpose, you do not have to visit a bank. This can be done right from the comfort of your own home through the converter, which is available on this website. You can convert any sum of money and compare the current rate with your previous conversions. You can maintain a record of these conversions in order to be able to analyze the changing pattern of the rate. mjh studio Channel link Subscribe Here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCohh9khHhBaVr2Ih7OGvSng DISCLAIMER: This Channel DOES NOT Promote or encourage Any illegal activities , all contents provided by This Channel is meant for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE only . #mjhstudio Pakistan Today US Dollar And Gold Latest News | PKR to US Dollar | Gold Price in Pakistan 03-11-18
