Go watch Collin Abroadcast's video bargaining in the same markets: https://youtu.be/zFs1MQzISRE Subscribe to Collin Abroadcast's channel: https://youtube.com/collinrocka I took a tour around the Yiwu Industrial Trade City - the largest wholesale market in the world. People come here from every country to buy goods to export. 5.5 million square meters, 7km long, this market is beyond giant. And it's all one interconnected building. I explored it for a day with Collin Abroadcast, a fellow market fanatic. From Christmas decorations to children's toys to hardware and tools, we found a bunch of stuff that blew our minds. When I first came to Yiwu before, I thought it was awesome. Many small stalls, a mix of factories and trading companies. There were ALL types of products that you can find and source here. What's even better is that you can do sample order of a few hundred units at factory prices to test your products. However, on my second run I saw the downside of Yiwu. I was looking for a very particular beauty product that I could white label and improve upon. And in my search, I discovered that Yiwu, for all intents and purposes, is a commodities market. You can find a lot of general or popular items here but you do have to look. It's like fleemarket, the more you search and ask, the more likely you'll find something interesting. So... here is my advice to you. If you are looking for a specific niche product to add to your brand, start with Alibaba. However, if you don't know what you want exactly and are open to ideas, Yiwu is the place to search through to find your golden nugget. 0:37 I’ll tell you what I think about Yiwu Market 1:38 Given a choice between Yiwu and Alibaba I’ll still go with alibaba and I will tell you why. 2:07 Comparing Yiwu’s and Alibaba’s advantages and disadvantages 5:32 All in all it’s definitely worth visiting Yiwu Don't forget to submit any QUESTIONS or COMMENTS down below, give this a THUMBS UP if you found this useful so others can find it, and SUBSCRIBE to be notified when new Amazon videos are released. Discover the 5 mistakes new importers make when they are importing products from China. Don’t make the same mistakes! Get our free ebook: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step Freightos: http://wholesaleted.com/go/freightos First mistake importers make when importing products from China: Assuming that shipping by sea will be the cheapest option A lot of new importers think they will save money if they ship by sea rather than air. On the surface it seems cheaper as importers usually pay around 60 cents/KG when shipping via sea, compared to the $7/KG when shipping by air courier. Unfortunately what they don’t realize is that the reason it’s that cheap is because when shipping via sea, you ship via container, and you need to rent an entire container. They are very large and require you to be shipping hundreds of KGs to be making it worth your time. If you are an Amazon private label seller, you are unlikely to have enough stock being shipped to fill a container by at least 60-70% so it will be cheaper to ship by air. When shipping by air, you have two options: 1) Air freight 2) Air courier Air courier is when you have your items shipped door-to-door. It is the easiest but the most expensive per KG (although in smaller quantities it is cheaper). Air freight is when you have your items flown from one airport to the other. You will need to organize other additional services: * Having the items delivered to the airport * A customs broker * Having the items delivered from the airport to the final location. There are a lot of fixed fees with this which means it becomes cheaper to use air freight with larger quantities. To figure out which option will be cheaper for you, I recommend using Freightos. Second mistake importers make when importing products from China: Not using the Metric system In China, they use the Metric system and not the Imperial system. So be sure to use KGs instead of lbs and CM instead of inches. It’s important to remember that when working with Chinese suppliers that they expect you to work on their terms and their timeframes. It can be frustrating, but it’s worth it for the cheap Chinese products you import! Third mistake importers make when importing products from China: Using Less than Container Load for shipping When shipping by sea, you have two options: 1) FCL which stands for Full Container Load 2) LCL which stands for Less than Container Load Inexperienced importers fall for the trap of shipping with LCL because they see that the price are extremely cheap. What they don’t realize is that these LCL companies have special deals with the ports to charge you extremely high Destination Service Charges. The LCL companies then make their money in the form of a “rebate” which is essentially commissions/kickbacks. Destination Service Charges are usually priced per-container and cost between $500-$1000 per container for ports in the USA. But when shipping by LCL you end up paying a high fee per cubic meters. It means that you often end up paying a fee comparable to shipping an entire container. Don’t fall for this trap: If you can’t break even with FCL, then ship by air. Fourth mistake importers make when importing products from China: not calculating the correct duties you will need to pay When you import products from China, you will need to pay duties at the border. If you don’t calculate the correct rate you can get a shock if it comes back as more than you expected. Duties can be a bit complicated to work out because there are a lot of variables. For example, if you imported woolen jackets, you need to consider which country the wool came from, as some countries (like Israel) have duty-free agreements over wool, which would reduce the duties you had to pay. On the other hand if synthetic fibres were used instead of pure wool, then your duty rates would be higher since there are higher duties applied to synthetic fibres within the USA. To figure out what your duty rate is, find out what the HTS (Harmonized Tax System) code is for your item. To find this, ask your Chinese supplier as they will most likely know. You can then go through the HTS manual and find what the duty rate is for the HTS code of your products. Fifth mistake importers make when importing products from China: being afraid to make mistakes And finally - don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Through making mistakes you learn how to overcome them the next time and make even more money. Mistakes are apart of entrepreneurship. Learn from others - and learn from your own as well!

(13 Apr 2018) Chinese electronics manufacturers were out in force on Friday at a Hong Kong trade fair that attracted thousands of Western buyers, even as tariff threats from President Donald Trump overshadowed trade relations with the US. Trump has threatened to slap 50 billion US dollars worth of tariffs on Chinese imports including flat screen TVs, leading Beijing to retaliate by warning it would impose its own import duties on American goods such as soybeans and small aircraft. The latest twist came on Thursday when Trump asked his trade officials to explore the possibility of the US rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, a free trade deal he pulled out of during his first days in office. Speaking on Friday at the Hong Kong trade fair, Jonathan Liu, CEO of educational robot maker Gomer, said that if the trade dispute escalated, he would have to find ways to avoid passing on higher costs. The tensions have sparked worries that the world's two biggest economies are heading for an all-out trade war, although companies displaying their wares at the trade fair were optimistic that they wouldn't be affected. Most of them were pitching products that weren't covered by the US Trade Representative's list of 1,300 product categories. Steve Goh, an engineer at Global Camera Manufacturer Corp., said his company was based in Taiwan but had a joint venture factory in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. He said there weren't many companies like his that made camera-microscopes, so ultimately it would be consumers that would suffer. Kelly Chen, a sales manager at drone maker Shenzhen Cynova Technology, said the company was a little nervous about Trump's threats. (10 Dec 2018) Asian markets were broadly lower on Monday after China protested the arrest of a senior executive of Chinese electronics giant Huawei, who is suspected of trying to evade US trade curbs on Iran. Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 1.4 percent to 25,696.89 and the Shanghai Composite was 0.8 percent lower at 2,583.90. China has slammed the detention of Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou as "extremely egregious" and demanded that the US cancel an order for her arrest, the official Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday. Stock analyst Jackson Wong said investors are worried that Meng's arrest could jeopardize the recent truce between China and the US. The two countries agreed to hold off on imposing further tariffs for 90 days while they attempt to resolve a range of issues from trade to technology development. Wong said some are concerned that "the situation might worsen" and trade talks may stall. Meng, who is suspected of attempting to evade US sanctions on Iran, was arrested in Canada on December 1. 중 무역규제 태풍 몰아친다..비관세 반덤핑 전방위압박 It appears that Korea will have to brace itself against a potential economic aftershock as China, one of its biggest trading partners, looks to enforce more trade sanctions on products from sugar to chemicals and high-end electronics. Kim Jung-soo has more. Trade between Korea and China has increased exponentially over the years, with China currently accounting for over 25 percent of Korea's exports. But it appears that Korea will soon have to prepare itself for a drastic turn of events, as China is looking to strengthen its protectionist measures on several imports, especially through anti-dumping and safeguard duties. In fact, Korea's exports to China have been on a downward slide for 16 months straight, with each month basically setting a new low. It is worth noting, however, that from January to August this year, all of China's trade restrictions were in the form of non-tariff barriers, such as quotas, embargoes and other sanctions. Beginning in September, however, China began investigating potential safeguard measures, or a temporary suspension of imports, on Korean sugar products, and in October, began investigating the possibility of placing anti-dumping duties on a Korean chemical product made of polyoxymethylene, also known as acetal, that had taken the top spot in China's import market. And as recently as Tuesday, the Chinese government said it is planning to re-open its anti-dumping investigation into a Korean polysilicon product. That's not good news for Korean companies that have production lines in China, like Samsung SDI and LG Chemical. For one thing, China, which currently has the biggest market for electric vehicles, is seeking to enforce higher certification standards on companies that produce lithium-ion batteries. Companies must now have annual production capacities of eight-billion watt-hours of energy, which is 40 times more than the previous requirement of 200 million. At the moment, only two Chinese companies meet the standard, but if the Chinese government enforces it, Korean companies could be at a serious price disadvantage. Experts have said that China's protectionist measures reflect its intent to promote its domestic industries, and that despite ongoing speculation, it should not be seen as a response to Korea's deployment of the U.S. missile defense system THAAD. 중국 서킷브레이커 재발동··· 오늘 거래 완전 중단 China halted trading on Monday... after shares there plunged almost seven percent. The event sent ripples across the region... with Asian markets kicking off the new year... lower... and Korea was no exception. Hwang Ji－hye has the details. China′s benchmark index dropped a whopping seven percent on the first trading day of 2016， triggering the market to close... for the rest of the day. The session was initially halted for 15 minutes after stocks fell five percent. But when stocks continued to dip， a circuit breaker mechanism took effect， hitting the brakes on the volatility. Under the system， stock market movement of seven percent from the previous session′s close... prompts a trading halt for the day. The plunge in the Chinese market came on the back of a sluggish factory activity survey... that darkened the outlook for the economy. The official manufacturing Purchasing Managers′ Index or PMI... fell to 48－point－2 for December， marking ten straight months of decline. A reading below 50 means contraction in activity. The gloomy news sent shock waves across Asia. Korea′s benchmark Kospi dropped 2 percent while Japan′s Nikkei fell 3 percent. Shares in Australia also closed down half a percent. Korea′s currency also took a hit from the slide of Chinese shares... ending down 15－point－2 won against the U.S. dollar，... for a near 3－month low. Hwang Ji－hye， Arirang News.
