Pokémon TCG Online is a great game that can be played for free. It recreates the entire recent collection of Pokémon cards and game mechanics all in game. Burt it can be fairly daunting at first to get in to. So in this video ill be going over some tips and methods on how to get started playing Pokémon TCG Online.
LEARNING THE GAME
The rules of the Pokémon Trading Card game may be difficult to understand at first, but once you pick Them up, they are really straight forward and simple. To begin, you want to start playing some games against computer ai to get your bearings. To do this select 'Trainer Challenge' from the main menu. Now you can select the Pokémon league, as well as your difficulty. nest you select which starter deck you want to use, either fire, grass, or water. Don't worry, you can always switch which deck you are using later. Finally you get to select your opponent. Each AI opponent uses a specific type of deck, which can be seen in the selection menu, so make sure you use use the proper deck counter whatever your opponent is using.
Click play now to get into the game. Once you're in-game you can follow the tool-tips that will appear to help you get started with the rules and basics. BE sure to play a few games like this to get your bearings.
Now that you are beginning to understand the mechanics of the game, now you should start focusing increasing you r ability to quickly make the proper decisions in game. To help with this is I would recommend playing trainer challenge on the hardest difficulty, and versing the same trainer about 5 or six times over and over again. This will help improve your reaction time, and help you make the proper decisions in game, and quicker.
How that you know the rules of the game and are making good plays, it's time to start building up your collection of cards. As you play using your basic theme decks in trainer challenge you will unlock some more cards for that deck. Try to play each of the basic decks and earn the extra cards for each one. As you continue playing trainer challenge you will notice that you get token rewards for beating the ai trainers, and an even larger bonus then you advance their score level. Well these tokens can be spent in the -in game shop in order to obtain booster packs. For a detailed tutorial on how to efficiently spend your tokens in the shop be sure to click this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uagM532gcoA
You can also earn free booster packs by mixing out the score level of trainers in trainer challenge, or waiting every 5 days on the daily bonus cycle.
Now that you've got some extra cards in your collection its time to start playing ageist actual people., To do this go to the versus tab of the game. I would recommend for your first few matches play in the Theme Deck vs. Theme Deck format, that way you can start off using cards and decks that your familiar with. Once you think you're ready to move on from theme deck play its time to build your first deck. To do this I would recommend choosing a standard type either water, fire or grass and then trade and open packs looking for that type of card. It's important that you have as several Pokémon EX cards in your deck to increase its viability. That being said, use cards from your theme decks as base, then as you get more and better cards start phasing them out for a stronger arrangement. In my case I did that with the starter Grass deck, and now the deck was an about 65% win rate.
You do not have to spend any money to make a viable deck in this game, but it will take some time and patience. Just keep working on building up your collection, and keep playing in versus matches to get the best post game rewards.
I hope this video helped you get started playing Pokémon TCG Online.
