Can you find the mistakes in these English sentences? In today's lesson, you'll review 8 grammar rules of correct English sentences. You'll get to practice correcting sentences with me in the video. Once you learn these easy grammar rules, you'll avoid making common mistakes and improve your marks on English essays and exams like IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC. To test if you really understand these rules, take the quiz. Good luck with your English! http://www.engvid.com/8-english-sentences-find-the-mistakes/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, my name's Rebecca. For the next few minutes, let's pretend you are the English teacher and you're correcting your student's homework. Let's look at some of these sentences and see if you can find some of the errors in these English sentences. Okay, the first sentence: "My mother she works in a bank." Is that okay? Well, let me tell you right now that actually none of these sentences are okay; there is a mistake in every sentence. So see if you can find the mistake. Okay? "My mother she works in a bank." What's the mistake? Okay... Here, "she", all right? I'm just going to grab a different marker. So what happened here is we said: "My mother she works in a bank." So we cannot repeat the subject. The mistake here is that we had a double subject; the subject was mentioned twice. In English, you can't do that. You just mention the subject once. So this sentence, in order to be correct, would need to be: "My mother works in a bank." Or: "She works in a bank." If you know who "she" is. Right? But you can't say both. So no double subjects. Number two: "John is an engineer" What's wrong with that? Look carefully. Well, what's wrong is that it's missing the punctuation. All right? Part of a correct sentence is correct punctuation. So here, there was no period at the end of the sentence, that's what was wrong. Next sentence: "The manager of my department" What's wrong with that? Well, what's wrong is that it's not a sentence because it doesn't have any verb, there's no verb there. Okay? And, of course, you need to continue this sentence, and then eventually you'd need to have some punctuation as well. But basically, there is no... This is a sentence fragment. This is called only a part of a sentence. It is not a complete English sentence or a correct English sentence. There is no verb. Missing verb. Next one: "we enjoy watching old movies." Okay? Again, look carefully. What's wrong there? Well, it has a subject, it has a verb, but this is the problem. The first letter in the first word of an English sentence has to be capitalized and that's what was missing here. You see, we didn't have that problem before. Okay. Next one: "I like very much Chinese food." Okay? Maybe that sounds okay to you, but doesn't sound okay to me. It's close, but not quite. What's wrong? Well, what's wrong here is this, the word order. Not only do you need to have certain elements, you need to have the words in the right order. So in English, the correct order for this sentence would be: "I like Chinese food very much." Okay? Not: "very much Chinese food." "I like Chinese food very much." Okay? Next: "Maria need help with her hw." "Maria need help with her homework." What's wrong there? Okay? So the mistake is here, the mistake is in subject-verb agreement. The verb has to agree with the subject. Right? And if we say: "Maria", it's like: "she", and we would have to say: "She needs". "Maria needs help with her hw." So the error here was in subject-verb agreement. Next one: "delivered the package yesterday" Okay? "delivered the package yesterday" What's wrong here? Well, it's similar to this one, except here, we had a sentence fragment and we had the subject. Here, we have a sentence fragment, and we have a verb, but we don't have a subject. We have a missing subject. So this is also a sentence fragment. "Fragment" means only part. It is not a complete sentence. Next one: "We recieved your letter." "We recieved your letter." Sounds fine, but if you're an English teacher, you're going to look really carefully at each of the words. And what's wrong is here, the mistake is here. It's a spelling mistake. Okay? The word "received" is one of those tricky words with the "e" and the "i", and the "i" and the "e" that you have to learn very well. So spelling mistakes will also bring down your marks. If you're doing the IELTS, if you're bring... Doing the TOEFL, any errors of this kind will bring your marks down. Okay? So even though they seem very basic, I know from experience that students make all of these mistakes. Be very careful not to make them. Let's look at what principles apply to correct English sentences. Okay? So, an English sentence must express a complete thought and it must express it with certain elements. Now, just because a sentence must express a complete thought, it doesn't have to have a lot of words; it doesn't have to be a very long sentence.

Vox's Estelle Caswell and Joss Fong debate "The Star Spangled Banner" Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO When Francis Scott Key attached his poem about the War of 1812 to a popular British song called "To Anacreon in Heaven," he kicked off over 200 years of painfully bad singing by patriotic Americans. The Star Spangled Banner became the official national anthem of the United States in 1931, but it had been used by the Army and Navy for decades before that and was popular from the start. One big problem? The melody wasn't exactly written for the masses, but for trained soloists. Commentators pointed out early on that it was exceedingly difficult for most people to sing, suggesting that "America the Beautiful" might be a better alternative. Critics have noted that the music requires a uniquely wide vocal range, it's full of tricky intervals, and the lyrics are confusing and uninspiring. But if you look at the national anthem as a sport, where we get to watch performers at the top of their game tackle the gauntlet that is the Star Spangled Banner, you may come to appreciate it. In this video, we debate whether the difficulty of the Star Spangled Banner is a feature or a bug for a national anthem. Keep your scientific writing clear and simple [NEXT SLIDE] Frequently, we read scientific documents written in a complicated and long-winded style. Robert Day, a great author of books on scientific writing said: There is really only one essential goal in scientific writing: clarity. John Maddox, a former editor of Nature Journal said: The truth is that badly written papers are most often written by people who are not clear in their own minds what they want to say. and Albert Einstein said: If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. [NEXT SLIDE] Let’s take an example of a typically intelligent-sounding scientific sentence: A thorough review of the evidence available at the present time persuades us to reach the unavoidable conclusion that the increasing level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is causing the well-observed phenomenon of rising sea levels. Now, science doesn’t have to sound complicated. Why not write it as you might explain it out loud to your grandmother or uncle. And if you can’t, perhaps you don’t understand it! [NEXT SLIDE] Just say it as it is and don’t be frightened to use simple language: Most studies have shown that rising sea levels are caused by increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide. Your readers will thank you for the effort you’ve put in to keep it clear and simple. I hope that’s helpful. For more bites to help your writing, visit networkpharma.tv. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = We are building a library of free webcasts and other video content for the global MedComms Community and others at http://www.networkpharma.tv and we’d welcome your suggestions for new content. [For the avoidance of doubt: this video is intended to be freely accessible to all. Please feel free to share and use however you like. How to figure out if there’s something wrong about your health? It’s often enough to look in the mirror. External changes can signal the beginning of a serious illness inside. So pay particular attention to these 11 symptoms of internal problems that show up right on your face! When it comes to health issues, early detection is key. #health #itching #hormones TIMESTAMPS: Discoloration of the skin around the mouth and nose 1:06 Extremely sensitive, glossy, or bulging eyes 1:49 Eyelashes that have become thicker and longer 2:35 A puffy face 3:12 Soft yellowish spots on the eyelids 3:49 Eyelid swelling and peeling 4:43 Itchy ears 5:22 Sudden facial asymmetry 6:07 Rashes and red blotches on the face 6:56 A receding chin 7:44 Out-of-control facial hair growth 8:11 #healthproblems #puffyface #itchiness Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - If your skin has turned grayish-bluish in the area of the nasolabial triangle (that’s basically your mouth and nose), this may indicate that you’re not getting enough oxygen due to poor blood circulation. - If you’ve noticed that your eyes had become extremely sensitive, glossy, or bulging eyes, this may be one of the first signs of hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis. - If you feel that your eyelashes have started to grow abnormally fast, this could be a real problem. Experiencing curlier, thicker, longer, or more pigmented eyelashes is a condition called trichomegaly. Some people are born with it, but it can also be caused by serious ailments like tuberculosis or immunodeficiency disorders. - A puffy face with swelling around the eyes, as well as dry skin and thin fragile hair, are some of the first signs of iodine deficiency. Iodine is responsible for proper thyroid function. Besides these symptoms on your face, if you notice that your weight is constantly fluctuating or you have increased sensitivity to the cold, it’s high time to see an endocrinologist. - People who have xanthelasma, or yellowish cholesterol-filled sacs on the skin, mostly around the eyes, are at a higher risk of developing heart disease. As harmless as they may seem, these spots indicate that the body isn’t metabolizing fats properly, which can result in a condition called atherosclerosis. - According to statistics, one out of 3 people who’s ever used cosmetic products on their eyes has experienced an allergic reaction to them at least once. Flakey or reddened eyelids may be your body’s way of telling you that your eye makeup or moisturizer contains some components that your skin doesn't agree with. - If you suffer from constant itchiness in your ears, this may be a sign of eczema, psoriasis, or some sort of allergy. The appearance of eczema, irritation, or similar skin problems means that you could be dangerously low on Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin. - A sudden change of facial symmetry, watery or dry eyes, and tingling in the facial muscles may mean a person has Bell's palsy. This condition causes muscle weakness or even paralysis on part of the face. It happens if the nerves that control your muscles become swollen, compressed, or inflamed. The reason for this problem is most often a viral infection. - Symptoms of digestive problems can actually show up on your skin. For example, red bumps that gather into itchy clusters may indicate celiac disease. If your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose suddenly become “decorated” with a butterfly-shaped rash, it can be a symptom of lupus. Other possible causes of rash are eczema, allergies, or some infection. - If a receding chin is accompanied by a small jaw and thick neck, you may be developing sleep apnea. People with this disorder actually stop breathing for ten or more seconds while they’re asleep. - Women should be alarmed if they suddenly notice an abundance of facial hair growing where there was once smooth skin. If dark course hair has started to grow on your chin, jawline, and upper lip, you may have polycystic ovary syndrome. This is a hormone imbalance that happens when male hormone levels are elevated in a woman. On Friday April 17th 2015, an article on the subject of North African Migrants making the hazardous journey across the Mediterranean (many had drowned in the attempt recent to the article being written) to Europe appeared in 'The Sun' daily newspaper. It was written by Katie Hopkins, a former candidate on 'The Apprentice' but known more recently for her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, and many chat shows interviews, where she has acquired a reputation as a strident iconoclast. The Sun newspaper is known as being right of centre, and has down the years published many articles containing stern criticism of immigration policy, particularly under the Labour government but also under the Tory Administration. On the 17th of April, these 2 phenomena of the British Media combined to produce perhaps the most extreme opinion piece on the subject to have appeared since the days of Oswald Mosley. In it, North African migrants are compared variously to cockroaches, the norovirus, the starving of Africa during the 1983-85 Ethiopian Famine, Feral Humans, and UK towns in which they have settled where likened to 'Festering Sores, plagued by swarms of migrants'. She also explained that she 'did not care' about scores of dead human beings (to the extent that she considers them human beings). Hours after the article was published, the worst ever migrant disaster in the history of the Mediterranean claimed anywhere between 800-950 lives. To date, Katie Hopkins has yet to repudiate the article, is still employed by the Sun, and is still a darling of the chat show circuit. As a freedom of speech absolutist, I defend her right to air her views, though I ought to confess that her article represents a very stern challenge to that cherished principle, in that I really wish she hadn't written it. In the spirit of the same principle, I reserve the right to express my view of HER view... I would maintain that it is the single most hateful, racist, inhuman and disgusting parody of journalism outside of Der Sturmer, and she ought to be thoroughly and utterly ashamed of herself. That she is not is partly our shame too, for having created a cultural climate in which such an article can pass without shock, and that such a person can be popular enough to justify a media career.

How to drive traffic to your website. Article marketing is a fantastic way to drive visitors to your website, if you know how to use it. Article marketing is a type of advertising where you write short articles that are distributed throughout free article marketplaces. Article marketing is one method you can use to increase blog traffic. It can be tricky because the last thing you want to do is create duplicate content, which will result in a lower rank in search engines. However, you can drive more unique visitors to your blog if you understand the basics of article marketing. Article Content Article marketing can increase blog traffic if the content meets 3 criteria: It's the right length (between 500 and 1,000 words) It solves a problem The tone and writing style suits the intended audience Submitting poorly written articles is not effective marketing. You'll risk more than a low conversion rate of readership to your blog. You may be branded as someone who is not an expert and lacks professionalism. Well written articles, on the other hand, will send readers hungry for more information to your blog. If you need help writing good articles, contract it out to freelance writers and other home based businesses that offer writing services. Free Article Directory When you first start your article marketing campaign, write at least 5 articles to submit to free directories. Once you've written 5 articles, submit them to a directory such as Best Syndication or Isnare. There's a better chance that people will find your articles on these sites than on your blog when you're first starting out, because they've existed longer and have more traffic than you. Some of their readers visit article sites specifically looking for articles to put on their web sites. If your article is well written and meets their content needs, they will put your article on their website. Other visitors will conduct a search using keywords from your article. If your article was useful, they may click the link to your blog in the resource box to read more information on your blog. Resource Box The incentive to you for submitting articles in the first place is the hope that it will increase blog traffic. A resource box at the close of your article sends readers to your blog. It includes your name, your blog's URL and a very short bio consisting of a sentence or two. How much of a bio you write depends on the article site. You may choose to skip your bio altogether and just offer a link to your blog and a special offer as an incentive for readers to click on the link. For example, you might offer them a free download of an ebook you wrote or a discount on a new product. Duplicate Content The articles you write to submit to free article directories must not appear on your blog, at least not in its original form. Search engines like Yahoo!, Google and Bing reward bloggers for providing original content and providing it frequently. They will punish you for posting articles on your blog that are found elsewhere online. This is duplicate content and it's not good for blogging. One way to solve this is to specifically write those articles for marketing purposes only. Another option is to rewrite those articles and add more information or updates to post on your blog. You should frequently use article marketing if you want to increase blog traffic. Set a goal to reach 30, 50 or 100 articles in the next 6 months. Outsource the articles if you're overwhelmed by the writing or submission process. The increase in readership is worth it. how to market a product how to market a product successfully how to market a product online how to market a food product how to sell a product how to sell a product to a customer how to advertise a product how to market a business how to market yourself

SEO consultants constantly fill the Internet with poorly written articles that make it sound like SEO is the end-all solution for all your problems. Because of their focus, they give a bad perspective of how they actually work. I've ghostwritten for a lot of these consultants and know the snake oil from the real deal. Even when they mean well, these SEO consultants are only trying to sell you something. This video tells the reality of SEO by dispelling myths. Back in March 2015 was the original badly written Northern Life article. A mild retraction/correction on what events actually took place 6 months ago has now been done. They still left out some key information. I have the original interview for this as I recorded it to hold them accountable on facts. CBC English Radio did a pretty good job I have to admit, but, left some stuff out listed below. I had a meeting with Northern Life & National Post about a retraction/correction, nothing came of it. *MISSING INFORMATION* Well its been over 6 months, finally CBC English Radio printed a proper correction to what happened however left out some facts. I list these below. NDP MPP France Gelinas, never returned my call. It started when Sudbury District Health Unit called to inform me that my daughter had no MMR vaccines. This was incorrect, as she did have them. A records error at SDHU proved this eventually. They also had no record that my daughter suffered a severe reaction to the Meningococcal ACYW-135 vaccine or HEP B. This was to be administered at her school within 4 days. Having no choice I opted to exercise my rights and get a statement of Conscience or Religious belief form signed to avoid having my daughter expelled from school and give some time to sort out an immunization records mess. This form was also recommended by SDHU. The school was also threatening my daughter. NDP MPP France Gelina's office refused to sign my form. I left my name and number, no call was returned. I also expressed on several occasion to the Northern Life media writer that we should have a joint discussion with Gelinas over the pressing matter. This was recorded. No discussion ever took place, and the article was published prematurely. I even stated during the discussion with the writer that some information was still needed by SDHU. France Gelinas instead of calling me back, or even consulting as to whyI needed the form signed, went on her merry way to speak to several media agencies under her own false assumptions. Plenty of time there, but no time for a constituent? CBC French Radio, National Post, and others, all printed articles without actually ever interviewing me. They didn't seem to have an issue cutting and pasting Northern Life's article, and adding there own spin. It's a sad day when an elected official has to ride the backs of a family in distress without actually contacting them, all to gain ground for fake political fame. Meanwhile, my daughter at school was taunted, called names, told she was a disease and dirty. I was painted as anti vaccine. Which I'm not. * I have phone records, recorded voice conversations, emails, and web material to back up anything I say. ** Visit our website below. https://www.nymanfoundation.ca Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/nymanfoundation .

How many words do you know that mean 'happy'? What about 'sad'? In today's lesson you'll learn LOTS of different ways to describe how you're feeling. When you're learning a language, it's important to have a broad vocabulary. Whether you're writing an essay or you're speaking with your boss, using more interesting and expressive vocabulary will make your sentences clearer, and you'll sound more intelligent, too. Try using the adjectives in this lesson instead of ordinary ones at work, school, or in the writing and speaking sections of exams like the IELTS, TOEFL, or CAE. You'll also learn some common expressions and idioms that native speakers use to talk about their mood, like "over the moon", "happy bunny", and "down in the dumps". Test your knowledge with the quiz: http://www.engvid.com/improve-your-vocabulary-23-words-for-talking-about-feeling-good-or-bad/ TRANSCRIPT Hi. I'm Gill from www.engvid.com, and today, in this lesson we're going to be looking at some vocabulary for moods, emotions, and feelings, which are all the same thing, really. So, there you are, you've learnt three words that all mean the same thing; "mood", "emotion", "feeling". They're all pretty much the same meaning. Okay? And we're looking at positive words for good... Good emotions, and some negative words for not so happy emotions. Okay. Right, so let's have a look. Most people are going to use "happy" and "sad", those are probably the first words you learn when you want to describe emotions, but sometimes I hear people talking and having a conversation, and they just keep using the same "happy", "sad", and there's no variation. I mean, it's okay, but to have a broader vocabulary is good, especially if you're going to be using it in the IELTS, for example, in the speaking test, or in some essay writing, or any... Any exams you're doing, whether they're written or spoken. It's good to have a wider range of vocabulary. So, I've got some for you, here. So, look no further. Right. So, "happy" and "glad". You may have heard "glad". "Oh, I'm so glad." If your friend tells you that they've just got a new job and they're really enjoying it, you can say: "Oh, I'm so glad to hear that." Or "pleased" is very similar. "I'm really pleased for you.", "Very pleased", "Very glad". Okay? So those are all, "happy", "glad", "pleased", they're all pretty much the same sort of meaning, sort of generally; positive and happy. Then we come to some words that are a little bit more intense; they're stronger. Stronger words. "Delighted". If your friend has this new job, and you say: "Oh, I'm delighted." That's three syllables for one thing, so that makes it "delighted", that makes it more stronger. But also, it's a nice word to know. Also, if you get an invitation to a party, and you say: "Oh, I'd be delighted to come. Thank you." Or an invitation anywhere. "Oh, delighted." Unless, of course, you want to play it cool and not be too, you know. Okay, so you can use "delighted" in writing and in speaking. Okay. The same with this word: "thrilled". There's the word "thrill", which is the noun. "What a thrill", and you can practice your: "th", "thra", "thra". It's difficult to say, because it's not just the "th", which is hard for some people, but there's an "r" as well, so it's: "thrilled", it's quite hard to say if you're not used to that kind of pronunciation. "Thrill" and "thrilled". "I'd be thrilled"-okay?-"to go to the party". And, here's another, this is a very sophisticated word: "elated". It's not the sort of word, perhaps, that you would use in a sort of informal, casual conversation. "Elated" is quite a high, high status kind of word, but it's a good one in certain contexts. Okay. And "elation", the noun, "elation", but it's not used in sort of everyday life. Okay, "ecstatic" is a little bit like "elated". You've probably heard of the noun "ecstasy", okay? Which, unfortunately, is also now linked with a drug, which is probably unfortunate, but there we are. But that's the drug "ecstasy" produces a result of feeling ecstasy. So, ecstatic, but please don't try it; not a good idea. So, "ecstatic", it's a very extreme, extreme kind of word again. Extreme. Okay? "Delirious" is another. Sometimes this is used in a medical sense by doctors. If someone is delirious, they may have a high temperature. If the doctor takes their temperature and it's way up, and maybe they've got a cold or a fever - delirious. You can be deliriously happy. That doesn't mean you have a temperature and a cold; it just means you're really, really, really happy. But, you can also be delirious with a fever, so it's that sort of extreme sense with that word. Okay? "In a good mood" is: "Oh, we're back down to earth again. It was getting a little bit too exciting." We're back down to earth. If you say you're in a good mood, that's sort of normal. It's like saying: "happy", "glad", "pleased", "in a good mood".

McDonald’s is probably one of the most popular fast food chains in the world. But most people don’t even know what image is hidden in this logo. If you turn it upside down, the letter “M” becomes the symbol of nourishing breasts. This is what design consultant and psychologist Louis Cheskin said when he wanted to convince the fast food restaurant to keep the same logo. And after so many years of success, we could believe that he was right to think so. There is another symbol of motherhood in Wendy’s logo. Many people see the word “mom” on this young girl’s collar. This symbol is easier to understand, but this time, the company claims that it was not intentional. Even though they didn’t mean to add this hidden image to their logo, they still think it is interesting to associate the brand with the best cook in the world: our mom. There are many symbols in logos from companies like Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Amazon, FedEx, Tostitos, and much more. Make sure to watch this video if you want to discover all the images hidden in these logos you see every day. Don’t forget to like this video and subscribe to TheThings for more. Once you see this, you will never look at these logos the same way again! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheThingscom/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.thethings.com/

What if the characters of "Harry Potter" looked like they did in the Books? J.K. Rowling brought us the world of Harry Potter and endowed it with an impressive number of secrets. However, some characters don’t match their descriptions from the books. Did you know that when the first book was written, Professor Snape was just over thirty? Watch this video for more surprising details! TIMESTAMPS Harry Potter 0:52 Hermione Granger 1:39 Ron Weasley 2:42 Severus Snape 3:27 Albus Dumbledore 4:22 Alastor Moody 5:18 Viktor Krum 6:10 Petunia Dursley 7:05 Minerva McGonagall 7:54 Dolores Umbridge 8:47 Rufus Scrimgeour 9:42 Bill Weasley 10:40 Narcissa Malfoy 11:37 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Some of the important aspects of Harry's appearance from the books weren't reflected in the film. According to the books, “the boy who lived” has his mother’s green eyes and the wild hair that refuses to be styled. -The author chose a thick bush of chestnut hair and large front teeth (which she reduced in Goblet of Fire, though, when Malfoy’s spell ricocheted into Hermione) to be Hermione’s distinguishing features. Emma Watson had this “thick bush” only in the first movie and nice teeth from the very beginning. -In the books, Ron has a long nose and freckles that are nowhere to be found on Rupert Grint. -Severus' description in the book says he had “greasy black hair and a hooked nose.” Plus, he was supposed to be just a little older than thirty at the beginning of the first book. -None of the actors who played Dumbledore had his “very long and crooked” nose. -When "Mad-Eye" appears in the book, he is described as a man with a badly disfigured face and tip of the nose. In the movie, however, he looks just fine apart from the famous “mad eye” and several lines on his face. -According to J.K. Rowling's vision, Viktor Krum was tall, slim, and had a hooked nose. Some of these details made it to the film, but most of them, unfortunately, didn't. -In the books, Mrs. Dursley is described as having a long neck that granted her the ability to spy on her neighbors, which she just loved to do, and blonde hair. -In the books, Minerva is described to be a tall, black-haired and kind of severe-looking woman, who, according to Harry's first impression, “is not someone to cross.” -Acoording to J.K. Rowling, Dolores Umbridge looks just as unpleasant on the outside as she truly is inside. She certainly has some resemblance to a frog thanks to her round, bulging eyes, large mouth, and pale, loose skin. -In the book, Rufus Scrimgeour resembled an old lion because of his "mane" of graying ginger hair and his style of clothing. -When we first meet him in the books, Bill Weasley is described to be tall, thin and handsome. He looks like a rock star and usually wears his hair in a ponytail. -In the books, aristocratic Narcissa Malfoy is tall and very pale. According to Harry, she looks like “she's got dung under her nose.” Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ SMART Youtube: https://goo.gl/JTfP6L 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Have you ever seen a talking slime? Some of you know me from life, some from Instagram, and some of you know me from a little platform called Steemit. And today, that's what I'm going to talk about. What is Steemit, you ask? The one sentence explanation is this: Steemit is a blogging platform that rewards its users for posting content with Steem tokens. Steem is a type of cryptocurrency built on the Steem blockchain. Confused yet? It gets better. But we're not going to get into the boring technical details in this video. We're going to talk about the practical side of things as told from my point of view. I've been on the platform for about 12 months now and experienced enough to feel comfortable saying that I know how Steemit works. But how Steemit works and how it was intended to work are two different things. I'm sure the original intention was pure: users get paid to blog, comment on each others blogs, and interact with each other. Everything would be funded by the wonders of blockchain technology. And when the market was up, that's exactly what we all thought was happening. When I joined the platform at the height of the market, I was flush with Australian dollaridoos and way too much BTC that I'd been gathering since July of that year. I saw a bunch of people getting rich investing in altcoins and wanted a piece of the action. My research eventually lead me to Steemit. I discovered that it was a platform that paid users to blog, I got excited. I've been writing my whole life and I can 100% objectively and modestly claim that my writing is downright prolific. These YouTube descriptions are pretty bad though, but I write these for the SEO. Not for actual readers. Is anyone even actually reading this? Anyway, I saw people getting paid ridiculous amounts of money to post poorly written "articles" with spelling and grammar mistakes, grainy images, and boring subject matter. People were raking in $200-$300 per post, sometimes more. And they were doing it by posting content that was downright awful. As a self-proclaimed incredible writer (some would say the voice of a generation), I saw this and KNEW that with my skills, I could make 10x that just by doing my thang. I was eventually in for a rude awakening for reasons that I go over in the video. That said, I still use the platform despite the fact that I don't make any money from my posts. I mean I do, but that's because I load them up with affiliate links and earn commissions from that. Not because I'm earning mone from upvotes. But anyway, the platform does have its place as a way for writers to get eyes on their work. There are some additional benefits as well which I go over in the video. AND! I'm giving away 50 Steemit accounts for free, so if you want one, be sure to leave a comment and tell me what you plan on writing about and I'll hook you up. You can find H. Con. Res 107 here. Thanks for using POPVOX! Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. Best wishes, Ben The POPVOX Team we are now in the 113th congress which goes from jan 3rd 2013 to jan 3rd 2015 new articles of impeachment have been written up, and leaked to the press. several congressmen have come forward about wishing to impeach pres Obama. a new freshmen congressmen leaked a video admitting he had sought a team of lawyer's advice on drawing up articles of impeachment. after getting the details correct all the advisers for all the congressmen had this to say: it is not enough to be right about impeaching the president. THIS president however is the first half black president. you have to convince the media and those who think this president is the best they have ever had. and you have to not impeach him because as the first half black president, no matter what your evidence he and history is going to write it as he was the first half black president and was treated poorly. it is a no win situation. that being said, several other congressmen have already polled the congress and said, if impeachment were brought tomorrow, the house of representatives would pass it with an overwhelming majority. I said in my other video that the US supreme court OKed impeachment proceedings. what people did not understand that, there was no trial, it was a simple question, because the chief justice will be the final arbiter. they polled the supreme court and the chief justice gave the nod. you can find the full articles of impeachment online already, a copy is written in full. that being said, the senate has already indicated they will refuse to carry out their proceedings, regardless of the impeachment passing the house. however, that being said, if the house of representatives successfully impeach the president and the senate refuses to proceed with a hearing, this will be the worst possible scenario for the democrats. they will have beyond a lame duck president, they will have a president, no one believes should be in office any longer. Visit this site: http://buyarticlesnow.net/ New website owners would always need content, either for their website or for general marketing purposes. In order for their website to look presentable, they need to fill pages with content, write a blog, and then send articles to different directories for back linking purposes. However, this is a tough feat, even for the most hardworking of website owners. If you want your web content and marketing endeavors to stay alive for the long term, the only way to do so is to buy articles. The Challenges of DIY Writing At first, writing articles for your website and blog might seem like an easy task. However, as your website gains more audiences, you have to do more things, especially when it comes to marketing. You need to keep your website updated regularly else you'll lose your loyal viewers, and you have to amp up your article marketing efforts each time a competitor jumps ahead of you in the search engine results page. If you choose to devote your attention to this, you might neglect other parts of your business that are important too. Another problem with writing your own content is that search engines are very fickle. They change algorithms frequently and if you're not careful, you might unknowingly do things which can hurt your score with search engines. Plagiarism, keyword spamming and badly written content can send your website plummeting down to the bottom of the results page. If you're not adept at SEO, you may make mistakes left and right. However, if you buy content from reliable individuals or companies that know how search engines work, you'll avoid making lethal mistakes. Finding Good Articles Online The challenge therefore, is to find individuals or companies that can provide you with content and articles on a regular basis. There are a lot of companies on the Internet that do content marketing for their clients, so it's recommended that you shop around, ask for samples, and see which writing styles fit your company the most. In time, you'll learn how to find articles that will not only catch the eye of your readers, but are also SEO-friendly to give your site a needed boost in rankings. It's up to you whether or not you'll hire an individual or a freelancer, or if you want to go with a content creation company. It all depends on the workload and your budget. Keep in mind though, that once you find a provider that fits your style, it's important that you build a stable working relationship with them. Like all forms of marketing, if you buy articles, your needs will change as time goes by. Because of this, you need someone who will go through the changes together with you and adjust accordingly. Because search engine algorithms are complicated, and because updating your website's content take a lot of time and effort, it's best to delegate this task to others who have the skill and talent to churn out interesting content that will put your site at the first page of popular search engine results. While writing your own articles may suffice at the beginning, the only way to achieve long term success with minimal cost and effort is to buy articles from expert writers or writing companies.

In this rich collection, bestselling author Adam Hochschild has selected and updated over two dozen essays and pieces of reporting from his long career. Threaded through them all is his concern for social justice and the people who have fought for it. The articles here range from a California gun show to a Finnish prison, from a Congolese center for rape victims to the ruins of gulag camps in the Soviet Arctic, from a stroll through construction sites with an ecologically pioneering architect in India to a day on the campaign trail with Nelson Mandela. Hochschild also talks about the writers he loves, from Mark Twain to John McPhee, and explores such far-reaching topics as why so much history is badly written, what bookshelves tell us about their owners, and his front-row seat for the shocking revelation in the 1960s that the CIA had been secretly controlling dozens of supposedly independent organizations. With the skills of a journalist, the knowledge of a historian, and the heart of an activist, Hochschild shares the stories of people who took a stand against despotism, spoke out against unjust wars and government surveillance, and dared to dream of a better and more just world.

If you have done well in writing courses before, this could be ideal for you. You can get paid to write blog posts and more. Sign up to become a mystery shopper. This is a great way to make money as you will have to shop at various places and take notes on your shopping experience. When you are finished, you will have to write up a report on the computer, which you will be compensated for. Beware sites where you have to make a bid to complete someone\'s work. These sites devalue you based on the fact that the lowest bid most frequently wins. There will be some people hiring on these sites who are decent, of course, but the bulk just want their work done cheaply. Are you a grammar nut? Do you understand the nuances of the English language? Consider working as a copy editor. You can get paid to look over articles that were written by others, seeking out any errors in the work and then correcting them. The best part is that you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. One great way to make money online is to write. If you have the talent and ability to write well with few or no grammatical and spelling errors, many people will want your services. It is a great way to write about something you love earn some cash. Why not create a cookbook? Don\'t be afraid to make contact with real people, just because you\'re looking for money making opportunities online. While most sites are self-explanatory and can be operated with little to no assistance, you can find out more about legitimacy by conducting conversations with site owners or other employees. If you don\'t hear back anything, that could be a red flag! The Internet can be a place for you to make money, when you know how to. After reading this article, you should be more convinced than ever that you can make a lot of money online. Simply put the tips to work for you, and you\'ll find the money comes in.
