Prerequisite You should have contiguous Cylinders available from Cylinder 1. The Maximum size of /boot partition is = Cylinder1 to Contiguous Cylinder available for use. You cant use the free cylinder if its not contiguous. In this example, I have /dev/sda1 partition around 500M. but boot filesytem created with 200M. we are going to extend the /boot partition from 200M to 400M.
